Cannot program remote for TIVO |

This is a very good system, with clean sound and deep bass. However, one of the reasons I bought it was to get rid of a clutter of remote controls -- remote for an HDTV, remote for TIVO, remote for DVD player and remote for an older audio system. I thought the Bose system's HDMI connection would take care of that. It did, partially. Unfortunately, there is no code that enables the remote to fully work with TIVO. Bose's technical support was polite and sympathetic, but essentially blames the absence of an appropriate code on TIVO, which might well be the case. They did help me to find a code that works for most functions. The exception is for changing channels on the TV. When you change channels, the TV switches to the basic TV input, not the HDMI connections to cable via TIVO or to the Bose. So, I still have to use two remotes. That's better than two, of course.

Compact Package, Great Sound & Excellent Performan |

I am still enjoying this amazing system from Bose. It's compact design fits seamlessly in our home. Guests are impressed (as am I) by all of that great sound that comes from the two Gemstone speakers and the Accoustimas module. Movies are 'theater quallity' with sound and perception. If you close your eyes, you'd be hard pressed to discern that there are no rear speakers.
I love the fact that I can store 200 hours of CD's. I can play my favorite music by album, artist & genre. I have even created a playlist for evening dinner parties, working out and background music.
The set up for the Bose 3-2-1 GSX could not have been easier. The system comes with an instructional DVD and I had it connected in no time.
The system is not without it's cons. I am surprised there is no jack for headphones. The system does not play all CD and DVD formats (so keep that in mind when considering the purchase). There is also no 'on timer' as I have with my JVC Executive system in my home office. ( I find that the on timer is a nice feature that I use on my television and smaller system, when I'm a way from home.
I have added only two accessories to tailor it for my specific needs, otherwise it is ready to go, right out of the box.
All in all, I am quite happy with my Bose 3-2-1 GSX system. Thank you Bose for a great little package and Crutchfield for excellent selections and service.
