The camcorder works great and crutchfields customer service is excellent!  I
have only used it for my daughters birthday so far so its a little early for an
in depth review but so far I really like it.  I did however by an aftermarket
battery that will run for 350 minutes which is much better than the stock battery.

This is a fantastic camcorder for $350.  Even for $550.  I wanted an HD flash memory
camcorder to replace my old camcorder and camera for a reasonable price and this unit fit
the bill at a GREAT price.  Video quality is great, especially outdoors.  Dim indoor scenes
are a little grainy and require some manual adjustments (which I still need to figure out).  
The manual settings are a nice feature.  The optical zoom is very smooth and the digital
zoom is surprisingly crisp all the way up to 60x.  The microphone is very sensitive and the
sound quality is very good.  The touch screen works well.  It takes a bit to get the hang
of the scrolling feature but it's no big deal.  No issues recording at highest resolution with a
class 4 8Gb card (thanks Crutchfield).  Easy transfer to Windows Live Movie Maker in
Windows 7 64 bit with the included USB cable.  I also have a Mac but only iLife 08 so I
can't import HD video into iMovie but iPhoto works fine for stills.  Still quality is just as
good as my Canon PowerShot A570is.  Processing time for stills in next to nothing as I
can snap photos more quickly than with the A570is which I really like.  It is very light and
fits in your palm nicely so you can access the necessary buttons with ease.  Battery life is
ok as with any other camcorder.  I've only had it for a few days but I've used it a lot and I
am very impressed.  I've always been happy with Canon video products and this unit is no
exception.

I bought this camera for a family vacation to Orlando.  I am a MAC user and when you turn on imovie before connecting the camera to the computer, everything works great.  The recording quality is very high even though I'm using a class 4 sd card.  Recording in the dark with the night scene option allows the darks to appear dark, as they should.  You can take a lot of photos with light; photos in the dark aren't good since the camera has a weak light.  The battery doesn't last very long, but I bought an extended one that lasts 3 hours longer.  The zoom and the stabilizer are impressive.  If I dropped it and broke it, I would buy it again.
