I bought this JL subwoofer to replace a great sounding JBL single 12" sub. I get the same deep low base from this 8" and it's a third the size of the JBL. Very good build quality and easy hookup. I especially like the embroidered "made in America" stitched into the covering. Great sub at a good price.

I just had this box put in my truck yesterday and I felt more than obligated to write a review on every website I could find that sold this box. I have a 2012 F150 FX4 SuperCrew. This truck came with everything EXCEPT bass in the speakers. First off everyone knows that JL Audio makes amazing products. The box itself is as small as it gets which makes everyone skeptical on its performance which is expected. When they brought my truck around I heard the bass and was impressed but when I stepped inside to leave... I had to turn the bass down ALL the way because it was so loud. All the reviews, people said they thought they had a pair of 10's or 12's in their truck and I 100% believe them! I have had two 10" kickers in a ported box before and this hits just as hard! It fits under my seat perfectly and you can't even see it! This thing is amazing!

When I got this in the mail I didn't expect it to be so tiny. After hooking this up to the MTX TD500.1D running 300 watts RMS, all I can say is "wow". I can't believe this is only an 8" subwoofer. It hits the lows superbly. I can't wait for it to be broken in so I can really see what this can handle.

This sub unit is unbelievable,I've had it for ove a year now and just got it installed this past saturday. Along with the jvc-av50 deck-infinity kappa 2-way 6x9's-infinity kappa 6.75's-infinity kappa 5 channel amp. All in a 2008 Nissan Frontier crew cab. It took my sub a few hours to break in but afther that all i can say is WOW!!!!!! this sub sounds like two brand name 10's and for it to keep up with the kappas it has to be one heck of a sub. By the way the sub is only getting 200 watts.

Like anyone else shopping for a car subwoofer, I came across this unit and was impressed by the reviews, but I still had limited expectations given that it's "merely" a single 8" driver. Over the course of my life I've probably had 12 different subwoofers (home, auto and boat) ranging in sizes between 8" and 15" of various designs (sealed, ported, bandpass, passive radiator, etc.) and of various brands (Fosgate, KEF, Bazooka, JL, Polk, Focal, Klipsh to name a few). I installed this subwoofer last week under the passenger seat of my car, and powered it with an Alpine MRX-M50, a Mono Sub amp rated at 300W RMS @4ohms.
All I can say is that I was ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED at the sound of this thing. Forget everything you previously thought about driver size; this will put 12" subs to shame. This subwoofer is tight, crisp, and hits extremely hard. It doesn't suffer from the sloppiness that you hear in larger diameter drivers, and when you give it more, it just soaks up the power. The crispness remains, no matter how much power you give it. The accuracy and transitions are razor edged, even when it's hitting hard enough to render your rear view mirror useless. Yes.. it's that good. Believe all of the 5 star reviews; they're no accident; you won't be disappointed in this sub, regardless of your expectations. .
