Very nice unit overall. Got mine refurbished for a great price!! Sounds great and fits in an 04 Trailblazer with no problems. Fairly easy install. User interface is nice and not complicated at all.
Have noticed one very minor glitch with the Onstar interface (GMS04) and receiver, but nothing to fret over. Warning chimes stayed on when I got out of truck for no reason. Put key back in and out and alarm went away. Not sure what happened but it has only happened once.
USB interface won't play mp3s from Rhapsody subscription service - can only use through aux input, but of course, no info shows on screen. Other mp3s play fine through USB. Limitation of Rhapsody service, not receiver. Navigation is awesome! Fast at finding POIs and recalculating routes. Probably going to add bluetooth adapter in the near future. Thanks Crutchfield!!

After reading a lot of reviews and doing a lot of research, I landed on the Kenwood DNX5140 Navigation Reciever. I replaced my stock radio in my 05 Camry which had a stock JBL Audio reciever, and even with the stock amp, the 5140's built in amp blew it out of the water. The navigation is flawless with turn by turn directions and spoken street adresses. A few people complained about setting the FM channels, but I found this incredibly easy, you just hold down the button for preset once you are listening to the station. The DVD player looks great and you can control it by pressing the funcion command which will bring up on screen controls such as Play, Skip, Fast Forward, etc. The radio sounds great and the RDS works great aswell. CD's and MP3's sound amazing and the eq settings really allow you to tweak the sound. If you are looking for an indash navigation reciever this is the right one for the price, I chose this navigation on the fact that it is made by Garmin, which is one of the biggest navigation companies around, so I knew I wouldn't have any problems with the nav. Overall a great system and would recommend to anyone, if you are looking at a cheaper one, save your money and buy this one instead, well worth the price!

The navigation works great, however it is more complicated than it needs to be when you try to navigate through the menu. The FM radio function sounds great however the AM portion is horrible with awful interference. As far as setting your memory presets, that to seems like an impossible feet. When playing a DVD, the touch screen is impossible to work. You tap tap tap around the whole screen hoping to finally get what your looking for and that never happens. It is not user friendly AT ALL. You are forced to have to buy the remote. The menu system is completely over engineered and difficult to maneuver.

The Garmin base software and designed GPS works terrific, ease of use with minimal amount of button pushing...obviously Garmin has done its homework on design interface. The Kenwood part...the radio is terrible. There are so many multi steps to do a simple thing such as programing station presets, it should be a simple process...but no..they add in everything you could imagine of which you will never use..complicating the whole process. I've refrained from writting this for 2 weeks to see if it would get easier to understand, I'm a commercial pilot and used to running complicated navigation , comm. ect.. units, but this thing is way way over engineered. Such as the clock display..it is so small its hard to read, yet the space availible to have a permanent large bold display is there. On top of that when u get a call on your cell phone (handsfree mode) the clock disappears totally, a pain when you want to co-ordinate a meeting time. To scan or search for a station you have to toggle to several menus to do a simple thing. Kenwood needs to focus on what is functional and not on incorporating everything the design team can think of including into the unit. Would be nice if they had a website where you could custom download the layout and features you want for your unit!! Overall its a good unit but you will shake your head in disbelief at the arcane layout.
