You can select from \r\n8 preset colors, or choose a continuous scan of the 8 default colors. You can \r\nalso create a custom color using Pioneer's AVIC Feeds program and load it into \r\nthe unit using an SD card.

Navigation
\r\n
Navigation Module: The navigation module on the AVIC-U310BT \r\nis removable and can be used as a map when detached (although it's not a \r\nstandalone portable GPS unit).
\r\n
Flash Memory Navigation: Pioneer has taken the entire \r\nTeleAtlas database, which previously required two DVDs, and compressed it \r\ninto a 2 GB internal flash memory. The maps cover the entire United States \r\n(including Alaska and Hawaii) and Canada. The database provides over 400 \r\nthousand points-of-interest (POIs) in various categories throughout the \r\ncoverage area. With the addition of an optional POI SD card (item number\r\n\r\n130SDOPU03), the POI database increases to over 12 million. You can search \r\nfor a POI near your current location, near your destination, or near a specific \r\ncity, or you can spell the POI name.

Positioning Technology: The AVIC-U310BT accurately measures \r\nyour current location by the Global Positioning System, a network of satellites \r\norbiting the earth to give you time and position information. The accuracy of \r\nthe GPS information depends upon how good the reception is. The unit has a \r\n20-channel GPS receiver with a magnetic antenna included.

Voice Guidance/Text to Speech: In addition to graphical \r\non-screen directions and maps, the AVIC-U310BT provides voice guidance and \r\nturn-by-turn directions. You can choose English, French, or Spanish guidance. \r\nText-to-speech is available in English, announcing the street names along \r\nwith the turn directions. Note: The TTS file may be on the supplied CD-ROM and must be copied to the SD memory card.

AVIC Feeds: You can create custom Points of Interest (POIs) \r\nby using the AVIC Feeds utility program, available on the Pioneer website \r\n(pioneerelectronics.com). Once created, you can store the POI on an SD card \r\nand upload the information to the unit. Other AVIC Feeds applications include \r\nDriving Report and Picture Editor.

CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the \r\nAVIC-U310BT are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing \r\nand Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). \r\nThese standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs \r\nfrom model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs for \r\nthe AVIC-U310BT are as follows:
Continuous Power Output: 22 watts \r\n\tRMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 50Hz-15kHz, 5% THD)
\r\n\t
Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x \r\n\t4 channels (or 50 watts x 2 channels at 4 ohms + 70 \r\n\twatts x 1 channel at 2 ohms for subwoofer)

3-Band Parametric Equalizer: This unit includes a 3-band \r\nparametric EQ with selectable Q factor. You can adjust the low frequency (40Hz, \r\n80Hz, 100Hz, or 160Hz), midrange (200kHz, 500kHz, 1kHz, or 2kHz) and high \r\nfrequency (3.15kHz, 8kHz, 10kHz, or 12.5kHz) from -12dB to +12dB. The Q factor \r\n(slope of the boost or cut) may be selected from 0.35, 0.59, 0.95, or 1.15. \r\nSelecting a narrow (steep) Q factor results in frequencies around the center \r\nfrequency being affected less by the boost or cut than they are with a wide Q \r\nfactor. This feature is useful for taming frequency response problems caused \r\nby the dimensions, materials, and speaker locations of a vehicle.

EQ Presets: There are 6 preset EQ curves: Super Bass, \r\nPowerful, Natural, Vocal, Flat, and Custom. The Custom curve allows you to \r\ncreate and store EQ settings in memory. You can create a separate Custom \r\ncurve for each source.
\r\n
Adjustable Loudness: You can select one of three different \r\nlevels of loudness compensation. A Low loudness contour provides +3.5dB boost \r\nat 100Hz and +3dB boost at 10kHz. A Mid boost is +10dB at 100Hz and +6.5dB at \r\n10kHz. A High loudness contour is +11dB at both 100Hz and 10kHz.

Source Level Adjustment (SLA): This function lets you adjust \r\nthe volume level of each source to prevent radical changes in volume when switching \r\nbetween sources. Settings are based on the volume level of the FM tuner, which \r\nremains unchanged.

Advanced Sound Retriever: The Advanced Sound Retriever \r\nautomatically enhances compressed audio and restores the original richness of \r\nthe recording. There are two available levels of the Sound Retriever effect.
\r\n
High-Pass Filter: When you don't want sound in the subwoofer \r\nfrequency range output from the front and rear speakers, you can activate the \r\nbuilt-in high-pass filter. You may select a filter frequency of 50Hz, 63Hz, 80Hz, \r\n100Hz, or 125Hz with a slope of 12dB per octave. The high-pass filter effects the \r\nline and speaker level outputs.

Rear/Subwoofer Preouts: In addition to the front preamp \r\noutputs, a second pair can be used as rear or subwoofer outputs (switchable). \r\nWhen set to subwoofer, the outputs are non-fading, and may be set for normal \r\nor reverse phase. The built-in low-pass filter frequency can be set to 50Hz, \r\n63Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, or 125Hz. The level of the subwoofer output can be adjusted \r\nbetween -24 to +6. The low-pass filter has a slope of 18dB per octave.

Bass Boost: The Bass Boost function raises the level of low \r\nfrequency sounds; select the desired level of bass boost between 0 and 6 (Gain: \r\n0dB to +12dB).

AM/FM Tuner
\r\n
Supertuner IIID AM/FM Tuner: The Supertuner IIID features \r\nFeed Forward Control, which avoids multi-path interference. This pre-detection \r\nof interference enables quick filter control and results in less distortion. \r\nIn addition, the Supertuner IIID creates enhanced stereo during multi-path \r\ninterference, unlike conventional tuners that collapse to mono.

DVD/CD Playback
\r\n
Disc Compatibility: The single CD slot is compatible with \r\nprerecorded audio CDs, as well as CD-R and CD-RW discs. Recordable discs can \r\ncontain MP3, WMA, AAC, or WAV files. Discs should be recorded in ISO9660 Level \r\n1 or 2, Romeo, or Joliet. The unit will accept up to 255 folders and 999 files.

Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth Solution: The AVIC-U310BT is equipped with a built-in \r\nParrot Bluetooth system. You can make and receive phone calls wirelessly through \r\nthe receiver. When a call is received, the caller ID information appears on screen \r\nand you can choose to answer or reject the call. There is also an Auto Answer \r\nfeature set in the menu. To place a call you can access the on screen number pad, \r\ncall from call history (dialed, received, and missed), dial a phone book entry, \r\ncall a POI (if the phone number is in the database), or call home (one your home \r\nnumber is programmed).

The unit is compatible with MP3, WMA, AAC, and WAV files. \r\nThe input is USB 2.0 Full Speed, supplies a maximum current of 500 mA, and accepts \r\nUSB drives with a minimum size of 256 MB.

iPod Compatible: You can directly control your music from \r\nthe AVIC-U310BT's touch screen with the optional CD-iU50 iPod adapter (item number \r\n130CDIU50) \r\nor the iPod dock cable included with your iPod. The cable connects the iPod to \r\nthe unit via USB (the iPod transfers digital audio signals to the AVIC-U310BT, \r\nbypassing the iPod's D/A converter).
