Description Features Crutchfield Hands-on Research Accessories

The Pioneer DEH-P4100UB offers great sound quality and sleek looks, along with lots of ways to enjoy your digital music files. This receiver's intuitive controls allow you to keep more of your attention on the road as you rock on. The bright blue OEL display shows 16 large characters of text or track information you can see clearly at a glance, while the one big control knob makes it easy to scroll through your menus and files.

Play it all
You can control your iPod® or play files from a thumb drive or another portable player directly through the high-speed USB input. When your iPod is connected to the USB input, the receiver bypasses your iPod's built-in digital-to-analog converter, using its high-quality DAC to deliver your music files with the highest fidelity possible. The DEH-P4100UB features a 2-way mode which allows your passengers to use the iPod's controls when it's hooked up to the receiver, so they won't have to bother you while you're driving.

This receiver plays all your MP3, WMA, and AAC files burned to disc, so you can bring your party mixes on the road. And your friends can bring their players along for the ride — you can connect almost any audio source to the front auxiliary input. You can add a Pioneer HD Radio™ tuner to enjoy high-quality sound and extra programming from your local participating stations.

Discover the wide range of sports, talk, comedy, and commercial-free music presented by your favourite DJs when you hook up a Pioneer satellite radio. You can also connect Pioneer's optional Bluetooth® adapter and you can safely take your phone calls hands-free through your stereo.

Sound quality
Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever expands high-frequency data lost when you created your digital files, so all your stored music files will sparkle. You can tweak the sound further to your taste with the Easy EQ 3-band parametric equalizer. High-power, 4-volt preamp outputs send strong, noise-free signals to the amps and subs in your audio system.

Note: If you're going to use your iPod with this receiver, be sure to check "Hands-on Research" for specific iPod model compatibility with this receiver.

Good unit June 8, 2010

With the added factory wire adapters, was an easy install but after the install had problems figuring out how to set the radio presets.

best buy for a low price March 11, 2010
Reviewer: Jamie from Huntsville, AL
I recently installed this in my 2001 Diamante to replace the factory radio that wasnt
working properly anymore.  I can say that there was a drastic change in the the quality
and sound that this made for my speakers and was worth the price just for that.  The
ipod control works great and i havent had the error connection problem (which i think is
due to the quality of the cord used).  Everything so far is excellent and i rated this 5 stars
even though my only complaint is the multi-function nob and the controls are a bit of a
pain at first but soon get used to them.   Overall i highly recommend this product.

Love it! February 20, 2010
Reviewer: Sara from Kearney, NE
I had this installed in a 2000 Grand Prix...it was aasy to install and the display is gorgeous. It's clear and easy to read at a glance. The multifunction controller knob is a challenge at first, but it took me maybe all of 5 mins to get it figured out and used to it. I actually really like it now, it's really easy to scroll through the I-pod menus and playlists. All in all I am SUPER happy with my purchase and Crutchfield made it affordable as always!! Thanks!

Awesome sound and functions February 19, 2010
Reviewer: Daron from Killeen, Tx
This is a great stereo to replace your factory. I was planning on replacing factory speakers in my Navigator to get better sound and more base but went with a new stereo first because my factory stereo did not have ipod capability and I made the right choice. The factory sub sounds awesome as does all other speakers. Controlling the ipod on the deck is a bit confusing but I learned it perfect in about 20 minutes. I give it a 4 because text on deck face are to small to read at night and day for that matter. Once you learn it you wont have a problem navigating it at night. The steering wheel controls works the deck great also but you need the interface connector but you can't change stereo channels with steering wheel control. Overall this stereo works great and you will not need an amp to get great sound. USB allows you to leave IPOD connected and charges it continuosly but you cannot use IPOD controls in this mode. You will have to turn IPOD off when you turn off car.  Auxillary allows you to control IPOD with IPOD control. Enjoy this great stereo!

Good stereo, bad buttons February 11, 2010
Reviewer: jgorm from san diego
Everything works fine, except for the control knob.  I have the stereo in a jeep that is not that smooth.  The main control knob does everything.  Rotate it for the volume, push left right up or down, also has a center push.  It hardly sticks out at all, so i always hit the buttons that surround it when i try and do things like change the volume.  (yes that little ring around the knob has 4 buttons on it)  This would be great in a Cadillac, but is very fustrating if its not in a super smooth car.  I have to wait for a smooth section of the road or i will hit all kinds of buttons on accident.  Its impossible to set a radio preset while i'm driving because you have to hold the push in button for like 3 seconds without twisting it, or pushing it in any direction, or hitting any of the other buttons that are about 1/8" away.  They really should have put a few more buttons on it and spread things out.  The Usb mp3 player works great and loads fast.  Hopefully you have little girl fingers and a smooth car, otherwise you might get frustrated.
