I came UPS in a box that was hammered. But it was packed with that in mind the sound bar and woofer were just fine. My TV is setting in a cabinet so my setup was a little more difficult then most but after I figured how to train my remotes I love it. We use it for our sound for parties and it's great.

The speakers/"sound system" in my 37" TV were just miserable. I had to turn up the volume to max in order to hear movies from the Blu-Ray/DVD and often had to back up hear what we/I missed. I wanted to fix this without breaking the bank, routing a ton of wires around the living room, or spending hours reading setup manuals... oh, and by the way... I wanted it to sound pretty good. True surround sound wasn't the ultimate goal. This system met all those goals and then some. From opening the shipping box to it being installed and configured was about 20 minutes. You just take everything out of the box, set up the sound bar (mine went above the TV), hook up power and the optical cable, and power the subwoofer. Being wireless, the subwoofer is just a plug in, and flip the on/off switch. The sound bar is the two connections and turn it on. It synced with the subwoofer on it's own. You can use the supplied remote, but I programmed it to have the Verizon STB remote control the power, muting, and volume (which also means it works with the TV remote, or the Blu-Ray remote since they're all programmed to control the TV volume, power or muting). The supplied remote also controls the subwoofer volume which I set once and I won't mess with it again. Now there's more than enough volume for ANY of my needs. The floor was vibrating when I cranked up the volume on a DVD last night. It isn't true surround sound, but it sure did what I wanted and I highly recommend this unit!

What I really wanted was the Boston Accoustics Tvee 30, but it never went on sale and then listened to the Polk at a local big box store. I like most things about this soundbar including the solid construction, well laid out controls, existing remote integration, and nice sound (though very limited in surround). What I am not so big on is the boominess of the sub-woofer which is not tightly integrated as a complete package. This makes it feel overwhelming at times. Fortunately, you do have the ability on the remote to adjust the strength and can typically find a nice medium. However, as you switch between sources, what was a nice sound on the TV can shift back into boominess when hooking up the iPod (as an example).
My first unit failed to connect/sync between the soundbar and sub-woofer after a couple of days and Crutchfield's fantastic support team swapped it out immediately. The new one has been trouble-free (a week later).

The Polk 6000 is my first soundbar purchase and I couldn't be happier. It sounds awesome and is really impressive. Rich sound and tremendous clarity. The sub's independent volume control offers great flexibility and responsive bass and low tones. Really makes my music and movies come alive while using my Apple TV for HD movies or jamming out using the I-Cloud feature to listen to my iTunes music. Excellent purchase with great value

Love it !!! Very easy 5 minute set up. Tell your friends. It's great. Not true surround sound but it's a great addition to my den for the price.
