About the Kenwood GXM 30 Antenna
Built by Garmin for Kenwood, the GXM 30 smart antenna lets you use your compatible Kenwood navigation system to stay ahead of traffic conditions and enjoy XM Satellite Radio. The antenna plugs right into your Kenwood navigation processor and lets you subscribe to XM's NavTraffic service, which offers up-to-the-minute information on traffic flow along your programmed route. The GXM 30 can also process all XM Radio signals and send the finished product to your Kenwood system.
Available in select cities, NavTraffic warns you of incidents like accidents, construction, sporting events, and scheduled traffic diversions, giving you plenty of time to adjust your route. In many metropolitan areas, it even monitors in real time the current average speed on some high-traffic roads. If you've got a long commute, you'll find this an especially handy tool for avoiding sitting in bumper-to-bumper gridlock.
Both NavTraffic and XM Satellite Radio require subscriptions. You can get NavTraffic alone for just $9.99 per month, or add it to your $12.95-per-month XM Satellite Radio subscription for an extra $3.99 per month. Learn about XM's programming.
Please note: XM service is available only in the lower 48 states, not available in Alaska, Hawaii, or U.S. territories. NavTraffic is currently available in most major metropolitan areas.

General Features
Product Overview: The GXM30 XM Smart Antenna delivers XM Satellite Radio to the Kenwood KNA-G510 navigation system. Subscriptions to XM Satellite Radio and/or XM NavTraffic are required.
XM Satellite Radio: XM Satellite Radio offers more than 170 channels of continuous programming including 69 commercial-free music channels, 63 channels of News, Sports, Talk and Entertainment, and 21 channels of XM Instant Traffic and Weather (audio only information).
XM NavTraffic: Powered by NAVTEQ Traffic, XM is the nation's first satellite-based data traffic information service that enables a vehicle's on-board GPS navigation system to display current traffic information for select metropolitan areas, including the driver's chosen route. XM NavTraffic can display the following information:
- Real-time traffic flow information (including the actual traffic speed data in some cases)
- Unscheduled traffic incident data (such as accidents, disabled vehicles, and weather-related issues)
- Scheduled traffic incident data (such as road construction and road closures)
Note: Because the reporting of information on traffic accidents, disabled vehicles, etc. relies on human interaction, the time span from when an incident occurs and when is displayed by XM NavTraffic will vary.
Installation: The GXM30 has a magnetic base and requires a view of the southern sky. It can be mounted in the vehicle (good), on the trunk (better), or on the roof (best). It will receive a signal through glass, but not through metal.
Navigation Features
Navigation Compatibility: The GXM30 are directly compatible with the Kenwood KNA-G510 Navigation system.
Detour: When a traffic delay is detected, you can detour around the area with one touch of a button.
NAVTEQ Traffic: NAVTEQ Traffic provides the traffic flow and incident information for the XM NavTraffic service. This data is collected from multiple sources across the country, including leading commercial traffic data providers, government departments of transportation, police and emergency services, road sensors, cameras, and real-time aircraft reports. NAVTEQ Traffic frequently performs extensive data quality processing to provide the most complete and accurate nationwide traffic information feed.
