Overview: The Sennheiser RS 160 combines wireless hi-fi audio quality with a truly versatile compact transmitter for listening at home, on-the-go, or at the office. This wireless headphone system consists of a pair of wireless headphones (HDR 160) and a compact transmitter (TX 160) which runs on AC or battery power to best accommodate your application. The RS 160 utilizes Kleer's uncompressed digital wireless audio transmission, offering a range of up to 60 feet, audiophile-grade sound and reception to four optional pairs of Sennheiser Kleer headphones. The Sennheiser RS 160 offers automatic, interference-free pairing between the headphone and transmitter.

Kleer Wireless Transmission Technology: The Sennheiser RS 160 headphone system features the digital wireless audio transmission technology from Kleer. Kleer technology transmits uncompressed audio over a robust 2.4 GHz digital link (2.4-2.8GHz), enabling you to enjoy your music without the hassle of cables. Kleer's uncompressed digital wireless transmission delivers CD-quality sound.

Note: Kleer technology will not interfere with wireless networks or other 2.4 GHz devices.

Wireless Headphones: The RS 160's wireless headphones utilize audiophile-level transducer systems with powerful neodymium magnets for clear and detailed audio reproduction. They provide a transparent and balance sound image with excellent bass response. Leatherette earpads and headband cushions provide a comfortable fit. The headphones receive their wireless stereo audio signal from the included transmitter. The wireless headphones are powered by two supplied rechargeable NiMH "AAA" batteries (for up to 24 hrs). You can connect the headphones to the included AC adapter via the charging Y-cable to recharge the batteries (approx. 16 hrs).

Portable Transmitter: The RS 160 employs a compact, portable transmitter which operates off of AC power and  can also run on battery power. The transmitter connects to your television's or audio system's audio output and then transmits the audio signal wirelessly to the RS 160's wireless headphones. The transmitter comes supplied with an AC power adapter and can also function off of two "AA" batteries (sold separately) for up to 120 hours.

Note: The transmitter requires two "AA" NiMH rechargeable batteries (1.2V/1,300mAH) or two "AA" alkaline batteries (1.5V) for portable use.

Multi-Receiver Mode: Up to 4 Sennheiser Kleer headphones can be connected to one transmitter so 4 people can listen to the same sound source.

Note: Additional Kleer headphones sold separately.

Auto Power Off: If there is no signal from the transmitter for more than 5 minutes, the headphones automatically switch to standby mode. If the headphones are outside the transmission range or switched to off for more than 5 minutes, the transmitter automatically switches to standby mode.

Quality sound January-15-15
Reviewer: OK from Barboursville
Until you try them, you don't realize how much you haven't been hearing.

Exactly what I was looking for December-29-14
Reviewer: Queenie from rural Michigan, USA
They are exactly as described, they arrived quickly, easy to set up and begin enjoying my music! I bought based on reviews and they were all accurate. I can use them without wearing my hearing aids and the sound is great. I was missing a lot of music and didn't even realize it. My husband is happy he doesn't want to hear my music as much as I do.

Overall Very Good December-29-14
Reviewer: Mark from Tennessee
This is the second set of Sennheiser wireless headphones I have owned.   The RS160's have several positives going for them:

1. Very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. 2.  Good signal range.   3. Excellent sound quality.

For the money, I give them 4 stars out of 5 overall.   If I have to list some negatives, they would be:

1.  The installation cord provided with the headphone may not be the right one for everyone.   I had to go purchase the correct cord for my situation the next day (Dual male RCA Y connector to stereo mini-plug) as my TV does not have a dedicated mini-jack headphone output.   Once that was done, however, install took just a matter of 30 seconds.   Still, Sennheiser should not assume that the only cord they provide will be useable by everyone.   Including a couple of different adapter cords or plugs to account for different needs should be expected for phones that cost over $100.00

2.  Having owned a different model of Sennheiser wireless phones previously, I know from experience and the similarities of construction between the two, that these headphones will not take a lot of abuse.   If you accidentally drop them, and they hit at the right spot, it is possible to break the headband in two.   The plastic is not extremely thick so you have to be careful with them.   Don't take them off and toss them on a hard surface of any kind.  Be nice to them and they will last a long time.

3.  No storage cradle on this model

Sennheiser RS 160 November-29-14

Very nice comfortable headset. The range is excellent. I can go anywhere in my house and still have a signal. Sound quality is great too. I can watch concerts while my wife sleeps and crank it up.

Didn't know what I'd been missing November-13-14
Reviewer: Steve from Virginia
I bought the Sennheiser RS 160 headphones based upon reviews and with help from the Crutchfield tech. My specific issue was hearing the voices clearly while watching TV. No doubt I have some hearing loss, but so many people I know complain about being able to hear voices clearly that I thought I'd give these a try. I now own two pair. My wife can watch TV with the volume as low as she wants and I can hear every single word. It's nothing short of fabulous! They are also spectacular for listening to music. I tried a friend's Bose headsets and found the RS 160 to be at least as good and at half the price. Set up was a piece of cake; couldn't be happier.
