Sony created a décor-friendly home theatre solution with the DAV-X1V. Its five-disc changer/receiver's advanced processing creates an enveloping soundstage from just two small speakers and a compact subwoofer. This system is also a perfect companion for a high-definition TV an HDMI output and video upconversion allow you to get the best possible picture quality from your DVD movie collection.
Advanced virtual surround sound processing
The DAV-X1V's built-in surround circuitry produces surprisingly spacious sound effects. And two different listening modes let you adjust the sound to match the number of people in your room. For a small crowd select the Focus Surround mode, which creates a tighter soundfield around one central "sweet spot." When you're watching movies in a larger group, select Wide Surround, which creates surround-like effects in a wider listening area.
Clear, vivid video and perks for HDTV owners
The five-disc changer gives you an extra-detailed DVD picture. If you've got an HDTV with a digital video input, the 'X1V can upconvert the signals from your standard DVDs to more closely match your set's higher-resolution display. Even if your TV doesn't have a digital video input, you can still get crisp DVD playback via one of the 'X1V's analog video connections.
Quick, easy setup
Setting up the DAV-X1V is simple, too, thanks to Sony's auto calibration feature. Just place the included microphone in your favorite listening position, and the changer/receiver unit automatically sets its own speaker distance and delay settings. Within minutes, you'll be ready to pop in a DVD and give your new system a test drive. You also get a pair of tabletop speaker stands and cables for the speakers and video connection to your TV.
