According to Sonos both this and the Desktop Controller are works in progress. It shows. Their online manual is brief and the 'search' feature is extremely poor.

I agree with the 1st reviewer about the free IPHONE app. Although if you are spending to this level of money than buy the controller and you won't pick up your phone except to answer it. I love the controller over my IPHONE as it is faster, more versatile and has a greater WIFI range. I like the ability to adjust screen lighting and also the instant sound adjustments you can't get with your IPHONE app. I have one for the upstairs and one for downstairs. I'm running the ZP90 attached to my ONKYO THX2 cert theater rcvr for my man cave and the wife has 2 5s players for her office and kitchen. I love my Sonos system. They have just upgraded the software to have a "fader" function that fades your music just like the dj's. AWESOME.... We listen to SIRIUS and other internet radio stations and I love it. Everybody should buy their system as its the best. I've looked at alot of various high end integrations and this hits the best price/feature points. You can always run the sound through your own speakers and burn the music to lossles quality. WAY TO GO SONOS!!

Definate Upgrade from CR100 |

First, If you already own an ipod or iphone, download the Sonos app (free) and see if you like it. 99% of the software is the same.
Between the 2, there are good arguments for either. if you don't already have an i-device the cost will be similar enough that you should get whichever makes more sense to you. Some features, such as battery life, "instant on"(and it is the fastest startup from dead sleep that I have seen ANY device do) and stronger wifi signals will have this beating the app version anyways, though depending on your situation the added benefit of doing other things on your i-device certainly merits thought. I have both so I am simply stating my review of the CR200.
The size is better than the CR100, the battery is replaceable, typing for searching is SO much easier. Zone management (adding then dropping, etc replaced by simply choosing from a list the zones you want) is much easier. The overall look and feel not surprisingly is more modern.
There is a place for all the controllers (the one negative to getting battery replacement options is no longer getting 100% water tightness, so I'll keep my CR100 in the kitchen) and I have and use both the Sonos controllers as well as the i-touch version and the desktop controllers. Perhaps that says more of my large amount of time listening to music but I do find that I (and definitely my wife) gravitate more toward this controller now as its the fastest way out of all of them to get the music playing that we want.
