This is my second try at a blu-ray. The first was a huge challenge to up date and then just stopped working on most BD disks after a year.
This one updates wirelessly. I connected to the internet with no problems and was on my way.
I just got another brand new disk yesterday and it played flawlessly!
So far so good!!!!!

This is my first stand alone Blu-Ray player. I have no complaints. It's extremely light. I only gave it 4 stars because I really don't have anything to compare it to.

Sony BDP -S560 is an excellent match for my Sony Bravia 1080p television. Picture quality is beautiful, sharp, sound is excellent. Blu ray discs load quickly; remote is easy to use with the player. I don't mind the lack of open/close function on the remote - I'm walking around anyway, before I start watching, so I simply walk over to the player, open the drawer, & put the disc in. Originally thought I would like to download movies from Netflix, which you can't do with this player. Don't really mind now - the quality of movies playing outweighs the ability to download directly from Netflix. I had great difficulty connecting wirelessly; support was not helpful - I have Apple computers & an Apple router - neither Sony nor Apple support were able to help. Utlimately, Crutchfield provided the most support by recommending I connect wired, which solved the problem.

This unit replaces a Samsung that was nothing but headaches. The Sony has fast loading time, beautiful picture and audio. Set-up menu was a breeze. I had problems setting up the wireless connection but that had more to do with my old router and modem. I installed a Linksys WRT610N and am able connect to BD Live and do network upgrades easily. The only complaint: no open/close button on remote. Not really needed due to rapid access to drawer via button on the machine.
