Works great for what it is, a good bang for your buck. Put you Vehicle in click what radio you want then everything else you may need for the install including a free step by step manual will pop up. Crutchfeild was great.

Great product. Exceeded my expectations. Bought this to replace the original radio/CDplayer in my 2005 Xterra. Much, much better sound even with factory speakers. Also wanted a front auxiliary jack which this has and works fine with my Sirius Sportster. Also wanted ability to play mp3's, which this unit also does nicely. Installation went smoothly (after thoroughly reading instructions). A great reciever for the price.

I did some research on various companies' auto electronics offerings, and many people seemed to dislike the Sonys. I have no idea why! After buying this receiver and putting it in my Cavalier, I have been nothing but impressed with this model's offerings. It has excellent expandability if you wish to go all out and add subs, an amp, etc., yet is elegant enough to not look out of place simply replacing the factory unit.
I was worried that the red illumination would be garish with my mostly green interior lights, but it is nice and subtle. I don't have a Christmas tree car! The controls are intuitive to use, and the main rotary knob is great to scan through menus and adjust the volume. The scan and search buttons are a bit small, but its no deal-breaker. The white on black LCD is highly legible in the daylight and looks attractive at night.
The most important aspect is the sound: It really delivers! I noticed a large improvement in high's and mids through my factory 6x9's and 4x6's, so I'm really excited to hear what it sounds like through the new Sony speakers I ordered from Crutchfield. The equalizer has several preset options and is also customizable so you can dial in the perfect sound.
I was on a budget and did not expect much. But I was wrong. I chose this unit over a comparable Pioneer HU because I felt that the display and controls of this Sony were much more user-friendly. I love Pioneer, but this model, I feel, was superior.
