While the kit fills the dash opening of the FJ Cruiser well, the mounting of the kit leaves a lot to be desired. The kit forces you to abandon the steel mounting brackets of the FJ, for the plastic ones supplied with the kit. If the sides of the kit were molded correctly, it could simply slide over the factory steel mounting brackets and attach with the four corner tabs. In the end I ended up cutting the side mounting brackets of the kit to accomplish this.

This fit perfectly into my Toyota FJ. My only complaint is that the plastic is flat black, but my console and the radio are shiny black. Unfortunately no one makes a shiny black version of this.
As a note Crutchfield shipped this super fast and their order system is excellent.

I purchased this trim kit to install my Sony XNV-770BT in my Cruiser and was completely
surprised when I discovered that the brackets were all plastic! The trim kit itself is not
completely solid and the brackets kinda just snap/lock into it. I wasn't too thrilled when after I
installed the HU and the dash bezel, I noticed a little bit of a "side-to-side" free play between
my HU and the trim kit. However, it works and I'm happy with the outcome.
It works, but I think it coulda been a bit more solid/sturdy! I believe this is probably the best of
all the trim kits available for the FJ.

I used this kit to mount an Alpine INA-W900BT in my wife's 2010 FJ. My first
impression was that the black plastic adapter felt a bit flimsy, but, once installed, it
has sufficient strength to firmly mount the head unit. Everything fit well; the
finished installation is very clean and professional. The install earned me Super x2
Jackpot Bonus Points with my wife.
