I generally just plug things in and figure out how to make them work, but I was very respectful with the Harmony One. After carefully watching the Logitech video, carefully reading the printed instructions, programming and then hoping that the device would "learn" from the repeated "corrections," I called Logitech support. Logitech support couldn't be more helpful and couldn't be more helpless. "Gosh, that's one we haven't seen before" is a tech support statement that doesn't raise hopes or confidence. I guess I'll have to call Crutchfield to make it work. The two and a half hours I've wasted amounts to WAY more annoyance than I experienced from having to press buttons on a few remotes. I think our Western civilization may be doomed.

Way better than my old Universal Brand Remote |

The Harmony One blows away my old Universal MX 450 remote. It does exactly what I programed it to do. Turn on TV, and it turns on. Turn on DVD and same thing, it turns on. I wish I purchased the Harmoney One a few years ago instead of suffering with my old remote.

The remote is truly amazing in combining all remote functions in one!!! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that it turned on the same brand receiver at the same time(Onkyo). The fix to the problem was to upgrade my remote to the 900. .Crutchfield advisors are incredibly helpful and patient with your questions about your product. Also, Crutchfield is probably the best online electronic depot there is!!! I am a customer for life!

Long-Time Harmony User |

I'm a long-time Logitech Harmony user starting with a "520" then upgrading to an "880" and most recently a "Harmony One." For me, it's a necessary product with a home theater system. My wife loves it because the coffee table is not cluttered with five remotes. She can use all of the home theater capabilities by pressing usually just one button, e.g., Watch a DVD, Listen to Pandora, etc. I don't have to worry about her ( or me) pressing the wrong buttons on the original OEM remotes and messing up a configuration.
A Harmony is relatively easy to program once you get the hang of it. You do need to read the instructions, take your time, and allot thirty minutes for the process the first time.
My only complaint is the buttons on the "520" and "880" wore out too soon (three years) requiring an extra firm press or a second press. Hopefully, the Harmony One lasts longer.
