It works great, the sound is much better than a FM modulator. I use it to get the sound from my phone and MP3 Player. I have the BOSE 6 disc in dash CD changer with OnStar and XM radio in a 2006 GMC Sierra. The radio sounds good to me, but was missing a aux input. Highly recommended if you are planning to keep your car or truck stock. The only thing i dont like is that in order to access the aux input, you have to switch the radio to XM, then press the SEEK UP button, then the SEEK down button. To switch back to XM radio, you repeat. It would have been nice just to be able to press the CD/AUX button on my unit. I tried to switch the jumper to changer mode to see if i could but would only work in xm mode.
With that said, it was worth the price to me. In order to have a aftermarket radio and for everything to work right, i would have to spend about 150.00 in adapters and thats not including the radio.

I wanted to connect a Sirius radio receiver up in my Hummer. So I came to a place I trust (Crutchfield) did the "Outfit my car" guild and whalla! I ordered the part, got it in real fast. Crutchfield sent detailed installation guilds and everything worked great. Was a little hard getting everything stuffed back in the hole but it all fit. All in all I think this product does what it was designed to do, and IM very happy. Working on a Hummer well that's a different story ;)

Just installed mine, took about 3 hours, but that includes running to the auto store for wire splices (get 2 of these, much better than cutting and taping).
2005 Yukon - Bose and XM. Crutchfields instructions on getting the radio out were right on. Very easy. Follow the directions to hook up the unit, also very easy. My vehicle, like most GM's has the hot wire as large orange and ground black with white stripe - this is on the other plug opposite the one the unit patches into. Wire splices very handy as there is not much slack and cutting, twisting and taping would be a pain. What is not perfectly clear to me is that the unit uses your XM bands as the Aux input. You cycle between XM or the new Aux by hitting seek up and down in quick sequence. When in Aux the display still says the XM band and channel you just left, the display does not change, but you Aux input music comes out.
So now the fun begins, getting all those wires and that box back in behind the head unit.....it can be done, be patient. It helps if you have a pet squid to assist you......
The good news is the wire and plug for you device (you did order the RCA adapter wires??) can come out anywhere behind the dash trim, which makes positioning it very handy.
Last hint, securely tape the splices and the RCA jacks. The last thing you want is to get the head unit back in after 30 minutes of cussin, only to find you pulled a jack loose in the process.

I purchased this product after researching the item and reading the reviews posted on Crutchfield.com. The instructions provided by Crutchfield were right on with the removal of the trim panel and factory radio. When it came to installation tapping into the 12 volt constant (large orange wire) went without any trouble. I had a bit of trouble when I tapped into the ground wire (black with a white stripe). As it turned out I had a faulty ground connection. With the aid of a test light I was able to locate the issue and correct it. In previous posts that I had read the location of the jumper varied. For my application the position of the jumper was in the XM position even though my vehicle does not have XM radio or a CD changer. I found that there was adequate space behind the radio to place the wiring harness and auxiliary adapter. Over all my impression of the product is great, the sound is very clear, and volume is good. The product does exactly what I bought it for, to play my iPod. Good Purchase.
