I bought this to replace a cheap amp i was using to power my Pioneer TS-W252R 10" Subwoofer. The power supplied by this Sony amp was way too much for that sub. I returned the sub and bought a Pioneer TSW257D4 10". NICE!!!!!!!! Its powers it up nicely and sounds so GREAT!

My only beef is that the HP/LP filter is not variable (set at 80 hz). Would be nice if the low boost was variable as well (40 hz), but I don't know if anyone offers that. As far as getting what I expected, I got absolutely that and I would give it a five, but it gets a four simply because nobody should leave out a variable crossover for a HP/LP filter. After remembering that my Sony CDX GT-310 had a LPF at 125 hz, I used that instead and left the filter on the amp off. Sounds great now! Overall I recommend the act.

I bought this amp from the Crutchfield Outlet for my boyfriend. He was looking to replace a lower-powered amp that he was using to power a 12" Sony Xplod subwoofer. As soon as we hooked it up in his car and turned it on, we were really impressed with how powerful the sound was. We bridged the amp to power this single speaker and it works great. There are a couple things you should know before buying this. The gain and the bass boost have to be adjusted with a screw driver, which can make it a hassle to make changes. Also, the amp gets hot enough to grill a steak. However, I've run the amp for hours and had no problems with it shutting off. One thing I didn't really like about this amp was that the low pass filter seems to cut the frequency too low, leaving a gap in the sound. I just leave it on all pass when running the sub. This amp is a great deal, it serves my purposes with power and it's going to be a long time before I even think of changing this one.
