Features

Woofer Cones: The Kicker KS Series speakers feature durable polypropylene woofer cones, resistant to moisture and the temperature extremes found in automotive applications.

Dome Tweeters: The ½" silk balanced dome tweeters provide a smooth high frequency response with a wide dispersion pattern. The tweeters have neodymium magnets.

Crossovers: The included speaker wire has an in-line 12 dB/octave crossover for the tweeter. (The 3½" cone receives a full range signal.) The three female quick slides on the output end of the wire attached to the crossover plug onto the three terminals on the speaker (0.11", 0.187" and 0.25"). A note on each crossover states they must be used. (If the crossovers are not used, the tweeters will be damaged very quickly.)

Q
What is the recommended type of bass blocker for these speakers? They sound great but distort a bit at higher volumes with my system.

We have not received any answers from other customers on your question. I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They should be able to help answer your question.

Q
I just purchased these speakers and installed them with the included cross-over harness. I went positive to positive and negative to negative with the connections. They sound great, but I've since read posts stating positive to negative is correct. Is this true?
hamroast  Oct 16, 2021

A
I connected positive to positive. In theory (I am not an expert so please research and confirm) either connection could be correct as wiring positive to negative will reverse your polarity. Generally speaking if you accidentally reverse polarity on a speaker it can cancel out frequencies from the other speaker(s), causing dips in your frequency range. Alternately, based on your cars acoustics and speaker positioning, reversing polarity COULD provide a flatter sound stage and reduction in dips if having the speakers wired positive to positive was causing interference. As an example, if I wire my subwoofer pos to negative, it will cancel out with my midbass speakers up front and I won't hear a certain range of bass frequency well. My best suggestion would be to reverse the wiring and listen to a song you know well. Trust your ear here (if you don't have additional gear) and decide what sounds better to you... pos to pos or pos to negative. It should be pretty obvious something doesn't sound correct.

Q
How to install the crossover for the speaker? Is it plug and play?

A
I had to manually connect the wires with the provided clips. Had to cut the original plug & connect directly.

Q
I have a 2021 jeep wrangler jl with the 8.4 screen. They say it will fit the dash speakers but the sound bar tweeters are the same size. It says it won't fit why?
carlos  Jun 05, 2021
1 answer
A
The Crutchfield system hasn't been updated, imagine how many vehicles they have to constantly update parameters for with every new generation. Also, it doesn't matter if you have a 5", 7" or 8.4", ALL JEEP JLs have the same speaker setup: 3.5" on dash, 4" in knee panel, 3.5 and 4" overhead/sound bar. The only extra with the Alpine is the sub and amplifier. The 3.5" will fit the sound bar however, SSV makes a lot for 6.5" w/tweeters or without but Crutchfield sells the MB Quart adapter to turn your sound bar into a 6x9 enclosure.

Q
Kicker 47KSC3504 KS Series 3-1/2" 2-way car speakers Do I have to wire-in the included crossover, or just plug and play with the included Metra connector? If so how would I go about wiring it in!
christopher d  Mar 23, 2021
1 answer
A
included crossover is pretty much plug and play. One end will have 3 wires that connect to the speaker and then other side will have 2 that you connect to either the metra connector or directly to the wires already there.

Q
Will this fit in a 2017 Sierra as dash speakers?
david  Mar 18, 2021

A
No they are 10s subs that go in a box. Mine are going under my back seat of a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado.

Q
you do need to connect all three terminal's right?

The provided pigtails includes a crossover. Two wires in three wires out to the speaker input. The objective is frequencies to the appropriate speaker. Use the pigtails. The reproduction quality will be much better.

If you would have asked 25 yrs ago when i installed i could give you a good answer. I had mine professionally installed since I have a 2020 ram and I do not have the experience or equipment anymore. I am running a KXA8005 on the 6x9 and a 10 inch l7T they are very clear and responsive.

Q
What is the third terminal for, how is it used?
h  Oct 20, 2020
1 answer
A
Kicker has a wiring harness included that uses all 3 terminals. You can't just use any 2 wire setup. The third terminal is used for a crossover and used to switch off bass level inputs that will distort and eventually damage the speaker.

Q
Can these go into a door or kick plate on a 66 mustang?
doug  Oct 17, 2020
1 answer
A
Your kick panels are 6.5" so why go to a 3.5" speaker? You'd have to buy adapter plates to mount them and it'll just be high level output.

Q
Factory dash speaker is 8 ohm . . . The kicker speaker I want to replace it with is 4 ohm . . . Is that a problem, and if it is, what can I do to resolve it ? Thanks
scott  Oct 06, 2020

A
This depends on the overall system design. We have advisors that can be reached by calling 1-800-324-9695 who will be happy to discuss your vehicle and system in it to check the impact of the change in the impedance.

Q
at what frequency do the included crossovers work at ?
david  Sep 15, 2020
1 answer
A
Hi David, The Kicker 47KSC3504 do come with a 12 dB/octave crossover for the tweeters, however, information regarding the exact frequency the tweeters will operate is is not a published specification on these speakers.

Q
I have a 1985 Pontiac Grand Prix, are these speakers the ones correlated to the very frontal area of the car where the speakers are?
marquis  Aug 28, 2020
1 answer
A
Yes, these awesome speakers will attach to the factory speaker grills. However, the magnets are so large you will need to remove the windshield to install them. If you're not willing to incur that expense, you may want to consider a lesser quality speaker that Crutchfield recommends will fit. The dynamic range and frequency response of these with installation challenges or another speaker that may be easier to install.

Q
I have a 2015 F150 non-Sony system and have upgraded all 4 door speakers with the Kicker KS Series. I've also added an Alpine Power Pack amp with high level inputs using plug n play harness to the factory head unit. I want to upgrade the single center dash speaker with one of these kicker 3.5 inch but I've heard the factory speaker is 8 ohms and putting in a 4 ohm speaker may cause the amp to overheat. Any guidance is appreciated. The Alpine amp is a 4 channel 45 RMS x 4. Will this work?

Years ago, we did this. Install a 4OHM speaker to a car audio that was unusually sending out 8OHMs. And it was verified. Days later, the car stereo died. Nowadays, I don't think they are installing factory radio with 8OHM. I normally see them on Home Audios. So, my advise is to verify and make sure. Otherwise, this may be a bad move.
emma  Jul 15, 2020
A
I believe the lower impedance of the Kicker speaker will not cause a problem for the factory stereo. The quality of these speakers and their range is far superior to the factory speakers. Worse case scenario, you get an improved head unit.
