Features

Multi-Camera Selector Interface: The Alpine KCX-C250MC Multi-Camera Selector Interface allows as many as three camera systems (Front, Rear, & Side) to be connected to and controlled from select Alpine in-dash navigation receivers.

Head Unit Compatibility: The Multi-Camera Selector Interface is compatible with very select 2016-up Alpine head units -

  • Multimedia Receivers: X108U, X109D, iLX507*, iLX-F509*, and iLX-F511*
  • Navigation Receivers: INE-W967HD, INE-W977HD, or INE-W987HD
  • Vehicle Specific Receivers: X110-SLV, X110-SRA, i509-WRA-JK*, and i509-WRA-JL*

Note: Alpine receivers with an asterik (*) will require a firmware update (V5.0.000)

Camera Compatibility: The KCX-C250MC allows you to connect up to 3 cameras (Rear, Front, & Side). You can connect 3 proprietary Alpine cameras (see accessory list) or connect a combination of Alpine and other brands of cameras (adapters required).

  • 3 Proprietary Alpine Cameras: You can connect up to 3 Alpine cameras which feature a proprietary multi-pin connector. Choose from the Alpine HCE-C1100, HCE-C125, HCE-C2100RD, HCE-C252RD, HCE-C257FD, HCE-C2600FD, or HCE-TCAM1-WRA (all sold separately).
  • 2 Proprietary Alpine Cameras + 1 Universal Camera: The compatible Alpine navigation receivers each come with one proprietary connector to composite video camera adapter, so you can connect one universal camera (sold separately) with a composite video jack. You can then connect two of the Alpine proprietary cameras (listed above).
  • 3 Universal Cameras: The compatible Alpine navigation receivers each come with one proprietary connector to composite video camera adapter, so you can connect one universal camera (sold separately) with a composite video jack. If you would like to connect two more universal cameras, you will need two Alpine camera input adapters (not sold by Crutchfield).

Note: The KCX-C250MC is not compatible with Alpine's DVR dash-cams.

Touchscreen Control: The KCX-C250MC Multi-Camera Selector allows you to control your Alpine multiple camera system from your compatible Alpine navigation receiver's touchscreen. The names of the connected camera systems (Front, Side, & Rear) appear on the touchscreen, so you can simply select the camera system you want to use. You can then choose the viewing option from that camera to be displayed on the receiver's LCD touchscreen.

Note: When your vehicle's reverse gear is selected, the image from the rearview camera is displayed first. You can then select to view front or side cameras.

Proprietary Connectors: The KCX-C250MC is fitted with 3 proprietary camera inputs (labeled "Rear Camera", "Front Camera", and "Side Camera") which will be used to plug in your compatible Alpine camera system's proprietary harness. The KCX-C250MC is also fitted with a proprietary video output connectors (labeled "Power/V.Out") which is used to connect the multi-camera selector interface to your compatible Alpine navigation receiver's proprietary camera input, using the included wiring harness.

Power & Ground: The Alpine KCX-C250MC Multi-Camera Selector Interface will require a separate +12V switched and ground hardwired connection inside the vehicle.

Q
Is there a DVR that I can connect to this system?
kimmar  May 03, 2023
1 answer
A
This will not work with any DVR. It can only work with select Alpine receivers because it is using a brand specific connection that is only found in those select Alpine receivers.

Q
Will this work with the i509-WRA-JK?
joshua  Apr 03, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Joshua, and thank you for your question. Today, no, but the i509 has the proprietary camera switcher input. Word from Alpine is it will, but first the i509 WRA-JK will need a firmware update, and at the moment, that update has not been released.
hogan  Apr 03, 2023 (Staff)
Q
CAN THIS BE USED ON IX511 HALO ?
anthony  Feb 03, 2023
1 answer
A
This is not compatible with the iLX-F511.

Q
Can two side camera's be added?
chadm  Oct 07, 2022
1 answer
A
Greetings Chad, and thank you for your question. The Alpine KCX-C250MC is limited to one front, one rear, and one side camera. On another note this is proprietary for only select Alpine cameras, or you would be needing Alpines adapter to composite RCA for every universal camera. Side note this switcher is compatible with a select few Alpine stereos.

Q
Is this compatible with the ILX 407?
santos  Aug 12, 2022
1 answer
A
This Alpine KCX-C250MC is not compatible with the ILX-407, Santos. If you'd like to add multi camera capability to the iLX-407 you can use this PAC VS41 camera switcher in the link below. This adds 4 camera's and analog triggers optional for those cams to the Alpine iLX-407! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_541VS41/PAC-VS41-Camera-Switcher.html

Is this compatible with the ILX 407?
santos  Aug 12, 2022

A
Greetings Jesus, and thank you for your question. Sorry to say, no its not. What you would need is an Alpine select restyle radio for certain vehicles, or one of their universal navigation receivers. Plus you would need the Alpine proprietary cameras as well.

Q
I have a rare vehicle that has TWO sides. Is there a model that supports both?
carlos  Apr 27, 2021
2 answers
A
Yes , the guy that installed the front camera said that it also supports side cameras but I think that you might also need to purchase the alpine cable to be able to make it work since your cameras are not alpine
neftali  Apr 27, 2021
A
I bought this to complete the off road package on the i209WR-OR - I had a hard time wrapping my mind around this as well but it is designed for the purpose of the blind passenger side your driver side mirror allows you to navigate driver side clearance there may be better options for you if you're looking for all around vehicle cameras if you our intent on using the Alpine unfortunately you would have to use the HDMI output Then it would not work through your typical camera viewing it will be an input you would have to switch to hope that helps
david  Apr 27, 2021
Q
Can I use this with my existing rear view camera? (RCA plug) or do I have to buy a new Alpine camera?
anthony  Mar 13, 2020
5 answers
A
This only works with Alpine cameras.
ryan  Mar 14, 2020
A
You can use it... just need the rca adapter
david  Mar 14, 2020
A
You will have to purchase a specific model of Alpine Camera for this to work due to the type of plugs. I can't recall the camera model but I'm sure you will get it on crutchfield.
neil  Mar 14, 2020
A
There were no RCA fittings on the one that I installed.Enter an answer to this question.
david  Mar 14, 2020
A
You will need an Alpine camera. It has a 3 or 4 wire plug that is not RCA.
ryan  Mar 13, 2020

Q
If i have the Alpine restyle dash kit and have a rear view camera ready and I want to add a grill front camera do I have to ge t this?
bubba  Jun 28, 2018
7 answers
A
The i509 has 2 camera inputs. Might need this or the Does the KCX-C2600B to access the different views/modes tho as the i509 only allows front and rear view unless I'm mistaken.
chadm  Oct 08, 2022
A
Yeah, the unit is required to be able to add a second camera. I'd recommend against it. The Alpine camera is a very wide angle camera and hard to place in a good spot in the Jeep. It's also not going to be viewable unless you press at least 3 buttons on the screen. (Menu, Camera, switch to front view). It doesn't connect to any parking sensors so in short, its very unusable. The only place I'd say its good for is off-roading, turned on manually and placed properly to view the very front.
moshe  Jul 02, 2018
A
YES! To have back-up camera and Forward facing camera you must use that interface.
ricardo  Jul 02, 2018
A
Yes, it is required for multiple cameras.
troy  Jul 02, 2018
A
Yes, this unit allows you to add three cameras. The front, the side, and the rear.
scott  Jul 02, 2018
A
Yes, there is only 1 camera input to the head unit. The module allows you to select which camera to display as well as the default backup cam.
karim  Jul 02, 2018
A
yes to choose between cameras
wilbur  Jul 02, 2018
Q
Will this work for the new alphine ilx-f309?
daryl  Feb 12, 2018
1 answer
A
Based on the preliminary information we have so far on the ILX-F309, yes, we expect the KCX-X250MC to be compatible but, this is subject to change. I hope that helps. My bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Ryan

Q
Can you view all 3 cameras at one time?
ronald  Oct 05, 2017
2 answers
A
I don't think so. I can only see one at a time. I think this is for the newer radios that only have one one camera port. My x008u had a digital and rca input. The 208u only has one input. You need this to use the front or sides.
george  Oct 06, 2017
A
NO the installer told me that I need cable adapters
moises garcia  Oct 06, 2017

paulius  Jul 09, 2017

A
No. The KCX-C250MC is compatible with select Alpine navigation receivers. The ILX-107 is not a navigation receiver. You will find the list of compatible Alpine stereo models by clicking the "Details" tab on the adapter's main webpage and scrolling down below the "features & specs" table.
