This compact pair delivers classic Klipsch sound with a 4" spun copper woofer and a 1" horn-loaded aluminum tweeter in each cabinet.

Convenient connections for your music sources

I love the variety of inputs Klipsch has added to the back of the right-hand speaker. An optical digital input gives you the option to use the speakers to bolster TV sound. There's a USB port for connecting to your computer, and a 3.5mm analog jack for making a direct wired connection with a mobile device. Vinyl lovers can hook up a turntable via the analog RCA inputs and take advantage of the built-in phono preamp.

Don't forget about the bass

These speakers are smart about bass. Klipsch engineers added dynamic bass EQ, so low frequencies are optimized at high volume, low volume, and anywhere in-between.

When you want to go even deeper, there's a mono RCA output on the back, so you can add a Klipsch subwoofer and really rock the house.

Features

Two-Way Driver Design: The Klipsch R-41PM powered bookshelf speakers deliver room-filling sound from a two-way driver design. Each speaker includes a 1" aluminum diaphragm compression driver with a Linear Travel Suspensions (LTS) mated to 90° x 90° square Tractrix Horn, and 4" copper spun magnetically shielded IMG woofer. The tweeter and woofer are crossed over at 1730Hz.

  • LTS Aluminum Tweeter: Klipsch exclusive Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) aluminum tweeter minimizes distortion for enhanced, detailed performances. Using Kapton, an extremely light and rigid material, in the tweeter suspension provides high efficiency and improve resolution and detail.
  • Tractrix Horn: The square Tractrix horn delivers a 90° x 90° dispersion pattern for a broader sound-stage.
  • Copper Spun IMG Woofer: Each loudspeaker uses a copper spun IMG (Injection Molded Graphite) 4" woofer for accurate midrange and midbass performance.

Bass Reflex MDF Cabinet: The Klipsch R-41PM employs a bass reflex enclosure with a rear-firing port for greater efficiency and bigger bass response. The ported enclosure features a MDF cabinet finished with a a scratch-resistant, textured wood grain vinyl. The rigid MDF cabinet utilizes internal cross-bracing to minimize panel vibrations that can color sound. Each speaker also comes with a low profile magnetic grille.

Built-in Amplification: The Klipsch R-41PM's "Right Speaker" employs a built-in, ultra-low noise 35 watt x 2 channel amplifier to power both speakers in the system. The built-in amplifier has been custom deigned to maximize driver performance and eliminate the need for external amplification. The "Right Speaker" and "Left Speaker" are fitted with binding-post speaker terminals on the back of the cabinet and come with 16' of speaker wire (18AGW) to connect the speakers together.

Dynamic Bass EQ: As the human ear perceives frequencies differently with variations in output, the R-41PM will dynamically match the ear's ability to hear lower frequencies. Typically, only available with audio/video receivers, dynamic volume is a first for Klipsch powered monitors. What you get is powerful bass whether the listening volume is low, cranked up or somewhere in between.

Bluetooth Music Streaming: The Klipsch R-41PM active loudspeakers feature built-in Bluetooth A2DP/AVRCP technology which allows you to wirelessly stream audio from your Bluetooth-enabled source device - such as your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or computer. You'll be able to stream stored music or music apps from your Bluetooth-enabled device and control basic playback from the included remote control. Advanced playback control and song/artist information will still be done from your Bluetooth device. Once paired, the R-41PM will automatically re-connect with your device when in wireless range (up to 33').

Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Klipsch R-41PM.

USB-B Input: The "Right Speaker" of the Klipsch R-41PM features a rear-panel USB (type-B) input for connecting your Windows PC or Mac computer/laptop. Through the R-41PM's USB connection, you are able to play music files (up to 24-bit/96kHz) stored on your Windows PC or Mac computer/laptop through the powered speaker system.

Optical Digital Input: The Klipsch R-41PM is fitted with an optical (toslink) digital input on the back of the "Right Speaker" for connection to a digital audio device like your TV, Blu-ray, or CD player. The speaker's optical digital input will accept 2ch stereo PCM only (up to 24-bit/96kHz).

Dual Analog Inputs w/ Phono Switch: The Klipsch R-41PM is equipped with two analog audio inputs on back of the "Right Speaker"; there is one stereo minijack (3.5mm) input for connecting a portable audio device with a headphone jack and one stereo RCA input for connecting an analog audio component. The stereo RCA input has a Phono switch which allows you to connect a turntable, so you can enjoy your vinyl record collection.

Sub Out: The Klipsch R-41PM features a mono-sub RCA output on the back of the "Right Speaker" that allows you to connect a powered subwoofer for added bass response. Your powered sub should have its own low-pass crossover.

IR Remote: The Klipsch R-41PM includes an IR wireless remote control for wireless operation of the powered speaker, plus control of your Bluetooth paired devices. The remote offers easy access to system features such as dedicated source selection, volume up/down, play/pause, and previous/next track. Make sure to point the IR remote at the IR sensor on the "Right Speaker".

Mounting Options: The Klipsch R-41PM can be placed on a speaker stand, bookshelf, table, or other flat surface. The powered bookshelf loudspeakers come with self-adhesive rubber feet to secure the speaker in place and prevent any damage to your stand's or shelf's surface. The rubber feet add approximately 0.125" to the overall height of the speaker.

Note: There is no included bracket, keyhole slot, or threaded insert to wall-mount the speaker.

AC Power: The Klipsch R-41PM's "Right Speaker" which is equipped with the built-in amplifier must be plugged into an AC power outlet using the included 68" detachable AC power cord.

I presume you mean a regular 120 Volt, 15 Amp circuit! Yes, but only one of the two. The passive speaker is connected to the powered one with a speaker cable. Just read the specs and look at the pics.

Q
Can I record from my turntable to a thumb drive through my Klipsch Reference R-41PM speaker?
chuck  Mar 10, 2022
2 answers
A
I do not believe you can record through the speakers USB port
andrew  Mar 10, 2022
A
No. The R-41PM is an amplifier and speaker. What you are looking for is software that captures your turntable signal and creates a file for your thumb drive.
michael  Mar 10, 2022
Q
Can I use a Phono Preamp with these speakers?
james  Mar 09, 2022
1 answer
A
I believe the answer is yes. The powered speaker has a preamp switch which you can turn off if you want to use an external phone pre-amp. Check out the specs and I think it will tell you so.

Q
I have Yamaha RX-V6a receiver will I be able to contact to these Klipsch R-41PM wirelessly or not?
jim neum  Dec 28, 2021
4 answers
A
I use mine in my office. I play my Napster playlist via Bluetooth. I've also connected a subwoofer, and the speakers sound beautiful. If the Yamaha has Bluetooth, it should work. However, I bought these specifically because I did not want to put a receiver or amplifier in my office.
scot  Jan 01, 2022
A
If your receiver has bluetooth, it should be able to. You might have to connect every time you use them though. Plus, your receiver probably needs a way to select bluetooth as an input.
clayton  Dec 28, 2021
A
These were installed for a client, but to if memory serves, these are not wireless speakers.
adam  Dec 28, 2021
A
Don't think so it would be via usb or Bluetooth

Make sure the volume is turned up all the way on your device
heather  Jan 03, 2022
A
Check that your preamp switch on the back of speakers is turned off if doesn't have a turntable hooked up to it. Also, make sure that the volume control on your blue tooth device is turned all the way up, then use the speaker's remote control to adjust the volume.
john  Dec 09, 2021
A
No physical volume switch on the speakers. Have you triple-checked to ensure volume is turned up sufficiently on the streaming device...with physical buttons or software controls? I know I sometimes overlook this :-)
charles  Dec 07, 2021
A
I find the sound is fine if I keep hitting the "up" volume button on the remote control AND I have my device (iphone, ipad) at the loudest level. But I'm not using them in a large space/room.
richard  Dec 07, 2021
Q
Hi can I stream Hi-Res Audio 24bit/96 kHz or above using this speakers? What is the BT standard used in R-41PM?
filip  Feb 17, 2021
1 answer
A
These speakers have Bluetooth version 3.0 supporting SBC codec to give A2DP/AVRCP level Bluetooth streaming and does not support hi-res audio. We have advisors that can be reached by calling 1-800-324-9695 who can help you find powered speakers that do support hi-res audio streaming over Bluetooth

Q
Can these be used as desktop speakers?
robert  Feb 04, 2021
5 answers
A
Absolutely. I bought them for my Dad's PC. He needed better sound for his desktop.
beth  Feb 04, 2021
A
They're a little larger than I would be comfortable with on a desktop. Individual stands are more desirable and the sound 'comes together' nicely if you're six to nine feet away from them.
richard  Feb 04, 2021
A
Yes these are the perfect size fore desktop use.
philip  Feb 04, 2021
A
Yes, thats how I'm using them. They came with the usb cable and the sound is great!
gil  Feb 04, 2021
A
I am using these as my main PC's desk top speakers - I replaced a set of Bose PC speakers - what a difference!
gerard  Feb 04, 2021
Q
Can I listen to two inputs at the same time with these? For example my turntable through the phono inputs and my PC via usb 3/2.0 to usb b?
carlos  Jan 27, 2021
3 answers
A
Do you really want to have two sources playing simultaneously or just want to have them both connected? I have a turntable connected to the phono inputs and an old iPad for streaming to the auxiliary input. The remote control allows you to select the source (phono, aux, opt, or USB).
james  Jan 27, 2021
A
I know of no pre-amp or integrated amp (which this is essentially) that allows for listening to two inputs at once. And no, this doesn't allow it either. It sounds like you need an audio mixer or DJ mixer to me.
joachim  Jan 27, 2021
A
The right "control" speaker requires you to choose one input at a time.
robert  Jan 27, 2021
Q
can I use this for karaoke ? so what speaker is good for singing karaoke
josephine  Jan 22, 2021
1 answer
A
It depends on how you intend to connect your microphone to the speakers. As far as loudness goes, they should be okay as long as the room isn't too big.

Q
Do you need a DAC when connecting these to a desktop computer? I'm using a Mac.
ryan  Jan 11, 2021
6 answers
A
Depending on your Mac model, if it's one of those with the headphone out that carries optical signal, you can connect it directly to the optical input. Or you can go headphone out directly without a DAC using a 1/8 to rca cable. You want wireless? You can do bluetooth too.
francis albert  Jan 11, 2021
A
No you do not need a DAC, I use these with my own desktop and have used both the phono, Bluetooth, and USB inputs and all work just fine with the signal straight from the computer.
hunter  Jan 11, 2021
A
No. Your Mac has a DAC in it.
mike  Jan 11, 2021
A
Hi, everything you need comes in the box. I actually have mines connected to an iMac via USB(cable included). Very easy setup!
samuel  Jan 11, 2021
A
Nope! The USB connection works with all computers out of the box and will utilize the DAC in the speaker.
kevin  Jan 11, 2021
A
If your mother board has optic out then you do not need a dac. You could also get a 3.5mm to rca adapter. I have a schitt modi dac and sounds great!
mike  Jan 11, 2021
Q
What is the best way to connect a CD player to Klipsch R-41pm speakers for best sound quality? I need to buy a new CD player or drive and am wondering if I can connect with RCA cables to the phono inputs (that seems like it has two sets of DACs working at the same time)? Or if I should get a CD player with a USB audio out? Or just get a DVD/CD external drive and hook it up to my computer? Again, hoping to maximize sound quality. Thanks!
joseph  Jan 02, 2021
1 answer
A
I use many devices with these speakers and routinely use multiple input options (Bluetooth, phono RCA cable, optical cable, stereo mini phone plug) and have not noticed any variation in sonic quality. I'm no expert, but it would seem that using the RCA cables bypasses the DACs of the speakers, using only the CD player's DACs. Keep it simple and just use RCA cables. Great sound, especially with the addition of a subwoofer!
margie  Jan 02, 2021
Q
Can these speakers, using a Bluetooth connection, can they be synced to him3 theatre receiver?I.E. Marantz 1711
james  Dec 31, 2020
3 answers
A
The Bluetooth in that Marantz can be used to transmit audio to Bluetooth devices including these Bluetooth speakers. They can be paired to the receiver. However, the range may be limiting and there will be some audio delays that occur too. I recommend contacting an advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to check if this setup will work for your goals
jason  Jan 20, 2021 (Staff)
A
Bluetooth should be no problem. I find it's easier to make the transmitter (Maramtz) discoverable. The Klipsh speakers excel at finding anything.
bruce  Jan 15, 2021
A
As long as the receiver has Bluetooth or usb they should work I'm using them as computer speakers via Bluetooth sometimes usb

Q
Does anyone know the individual weight of each speaker? Need to make sure floating shelves can hold them.
jameson  Dec 12, 2020

Hi! Using a regular human-weight scale and noting the variance when I hold the speaker, I get 8 pounds. Not super precise, but likely close enough.

Trouble connecting to tv, no sound, purple light on, connected thru cable, tv speaker off, no sound?
joe  Oct 25, 2020
5 answers
A
My same problem, I get a random loud fluttering sound when connected to my tv via fiber optic cable.
ramon  Jun 01, 2021
A
The R-41M that I purchased was intended to wire into my lap top. I have not had an issue other than it may take a little time to sync in. All I have done is unplug and then re-plug.
paul  Oct 27, 2020
A
Purple us the photo input, there is a switch associated with that input. Make sure that switch is in the line position. Also double check your connected to audio out on the TV.
ronald  Oct 25, 2020
A
It's really difficult to diagnose specific problems like these without seeing the particular installation. But I'll try. I'm assuming you're connecting an audio-out line from the TV to the speaker. Purple indicates you've selected the phono input; that won't work. Connect using either a 3.5mm (1/8-inch) analog audio line, or the optical connection. Use the setup function of your particular TV to enable the audio output, if required. Then use the speaker remote control to select the input you're using. Should work fine. Good luck!
craig  Oct 25, 2020
A
Are you trying to connect with Bluetooth or hardwired? I had to send the speakers back and Crutchfield sent me another pair.

Yup! I added a Polk Audio PSW 10. The overall sound is now WAY better.
suzanne  Jun 17, 2020

Q
I have a pair of R-41PM and a R-100SW sub plugged into a turntable however I'm only receiving sound from just one of the speakers and the sub. What do I need to do to fix this?
scokeeper  Jan 13, 2020
1 answer
A
I have mine set up for Bluetooth operation, so I am not sure how helpful I can be with your particular set up. Make sure you have the two speakers connected to each other properly and ensure they are working before connecting the SW, as this is a separate unit and not connected directly to the speakers
james  Jan 13, 2020
Q
Can I pair these with a bluetooth phonograph and get true stereo separation?
j  Sep 14, 2019
3 answers
A
Bluetooth pairing is super easy, but for best quality sound use cables. I hear BT music from my iPhone most of the time.
ramon  Jun 01, 2021
A
J K, Separation is as good as Blue Tooth allows. Not sure of DB's but its as good as my Denon 6 channel. Great speakers. I have all Klipsh. On my boat, Living room , Big set in the basement I have the R-41's in my breezeway. They pair up easily with my computer and a few friends phones. It seems to pair automatically with whatever is available if the last pair device is unavailable. I use the Fiber optics connector mostly. Beat running wires from my living room. Just one thin 50 foot fiber cable. BB
bruce  Sep 14, 2019
A
Bluetooth connections can be tricky, but I don't see why not. As for stereo separation, absolutely. These are great speakers.
