About the Sound Ordnance Bass Bunker

Bob Bihlmayer
Sound Ordnance's rugged Bass Bunker enclosures come built to last and ready to help your sub deliver real low-frequency firepower. These unloaded boxes feature high-grade, medium-density fiberboard construction, with sealed inner braces that help combat resonance by reducing vibrations. Rounded outside corners and recessed panels allow them to fit into more vehicles, while tough black carpeting defends against incoming nicks and scratches. Bass Bunkers make a great solution when building your own box is not an option.

Its large vents feature rounded inner corners that keep port noise to a minimum for more accurate response. Just add the right subs, amp, and wiring, then mount the enclosure securely, and you're ready to hit the road with some real bass artillery in your arsenal.

Warning: This enclosure does not include mounting hardware. If you're buying a sub from us, please check "What's in the Box?" to see if screws are included. If not, you should have an assortment of heavy-duty wood screws on hand for the installation.

Features

Materials: The Sound Ordnance BB102-125V Bass Bunker is an unloaded, hatchback-style ported enclosure for two 10" subwoofers. It is constructed of 5/8" MDF (medium-density fiberboard), covered in black carpet.

Internal Box Volume: The enclosure has two separate chambers, each with 1.24 cubic feet of airspace.

Terminals: The BB102-125V is equipped with two pair of spring-post speaker terminals, one for each chamber, mounted in the rear panel. The spring terminals will accept bare wire up to 10 gauge, pin connectors, and single banana plugs, but are spaced too far apart for dual banana plugs. Inside the enclosure, each set of terminals has an attached 21" length of speaker wire for connecting the subwoofer.

Brackets: Brackets for securing the enclosure to your vehicle are recommended.

I had two of these 10 inch boxes in the back of a Lincoln LS. Got one in a '12 Malibu. You should be good

Q
Will this work for 10 inch planet audio Ac10Ds?
chris  Jun 09, 2021
1 answer
A
Planet Audio specs are 1 cu ft for sealed box and 2 cu ft for ported box. For my listening preference I feel that a 1 cu ft ported is too large and certainly 2 cu ft would be too much. A 2 cu ft box would not provide thumping bass but more of a lower rumbling. That being said, this box would certainly be fine for a pair of the AC10D's. You should get a good thump out of those with this box, and it will provide a good rumble that a sealed box would not provide. I hope this helps to answer your question. Enclosures just like subs can be subject to listener preference as to what sounds good, but the subs certainly will work and be fine in this enclosure.

Q
I have two 10" subs that require 1.25 cu ft per sub in a vented box, would this box work?
matthew  Apr 19, 2021
1 answer
A
Yes this will do the job. It's 1.24 per enclosure side, the.1 cubic foot difference shouldn't be an issue.

I would look at the description, get the measurements and compare that to the interior of your corvette space. I put these in my Toyota Venza and they fit great.

No it is to big in height. You need to get a custom box

I wasn't sure but I purchased some anyway. It did make a difference so you would be satisfied.

No, I run two Kicker 10 inch's hooked to a Kicker kxa 1600.1 and the sound is very crisp and hard hitting.
aaron  May 12, 2020

I'm no expert but I would guess if you like the sound better with it. I've only had poly fill in one sub box before, I had a L7 15 in a over sized box. But I have this 2 of these boxes with 2 kicker comp vr 10s in each one without poly and it sounds great. Hope that was helpful good luck
ben  May 11, 2020
A
I did not use any polyfill. I just put speakers straight in the box as is and I'm extremely satisfied with box. It Exceeded my expectations.
max  May 11, 2020

It does great in my car without polyfill, but. If you've got some distortion it wouldn't hurt it to put some in.
spencer  May 11, 2020
A
Other then that the box is great, my 2 10" sounds like my single 12".
