Alpine's iLX-007 receiver takes the best things from your iPhone and puts them front and center in your dash. Once you've plugged in your phone, Apple CarPlay takes over and puts your music, maps and messages on the big touchscreen display.
The screen is responsive and easy to read. Its thin bezel provides an edge-to-edge look, and it's easy to get to your music and other apps. CarPlay integrates smoothly with Siri, so you can compose text messages, make calls, and activate apps using Siri Hands Free voice commands. Siri can also read your incoming text messages, and using voice commands is a great way to keep your eyes on the road.
Maps look fantastic on the iLX-007. They're also easy to access, thanks to the "Siri" button at the bottom of the display. Just tap the button, tell Siri where to navigate to, and you'll see your maps fill the screen. The little included microphone is what you'll use to talk to Siri, so be sure to mount it front and center where you can be heard clearly.
CarPlay organizes your music into categories, and it's easy to find what you want to play from your iPhone's library. Lots of great streaming apps work, too, like Pandora, Spotify, iHeartRadio, and Tunein Radio.
The radio itself has a compact design, and is only about half as deep as a traditional receiver. When you're installing it, take a spare lightning cable and route it from the rear USB slot to an open space in your dash, glovebox or console. That's where you'll plug in your iPhone while you're in the car, which keeps it charged and lets the receiver access CarPlay.
Alpine's iLX-007 puts your phone up on a big, touchscreen display that looks great in any vehicle. If you have any questions about this receiver, or want to see if it'll fit in your vehicle, please give us a call.
