Hi. I'm Ken. I'm here at the Crutchfield video studios today with the Alpine IVA-W505 DVD receiver and its add-on navigation system. Now this is a great way to add a DVD receiver to vehicles that have a larger size stereo opening. It boasts a 7-inch screen, so there's lots of space for system and song info, all with a really easy to use touchscreen interface. I've got my iPod connected so I'm gonna choose it from the source screen, and you see we've got plenty of information, even album art. If you want to navigate with the iPod connected, touch here, go to music, and you go right through all your normal options. When you're done, you can just go back to where you were.

Now this is one of Alpine's top models and it's packed with features. The CD/DVD player will play all your favorite file formats including AAC files. There's a USB input with iPod controls so there's no adapter needed. There's an A/V input and output so you can add other video sources and optional rear monitors. There's even a rear camera input. And it's got great sound shaping features. MediaXpander will improve the sound of your compressed music files. There's a 5-band parametric EQ and there are high-pass and low-pass filters to make your speakers sound their best.

Now that's plenty of options for tuning your sound, but it also works with Alpine's optional Imprint system, and this is cool. Imprint uses a microphone you place in your listening position and sophisticated software to adjust the sound of the receiver to match your car's acoustics, creating a finely tuned listening environment. If you care about sound quality, you need to check out Imprint.

Now as I mentioned earlier, there's an and add on navigation module that adds navigation and Bluetooth. When you're ready to navigate, just hit "Source," then "Nav." That will get you into the navigation screen. Go to here, choose a destination. We're gonna look for a gas station, so we'll go to places, by category, down a couple screens, there we are, gas stations. Choose one near here. That looks good. That sounds good, OK to proceed, calculates out the route and there you are.

We've covered a lot of ground but this receiver does a lot more as well. You can get all the details at, or call us at 1-800-555-9408
