Video: Sony MEX-XB100BT CD receiver

Twice the power of other car stereos

Heads up!

Welcome to this article from the Crutchfield archives. Have fun reading it, but be aware that the information may be outdated and links may be broken.

The Sony MEX-XB100BT CD receiver includes a small hideaway amp that delivers 40 watts RMS per channel, which is double the power output of similar receivers. With more power you get more clarity at any volume, and the amp can even be bridged to drive a small subwoofer. Take a look at some of the features of this amazing receiver in this short video.

Sony's XB100BT CD receiver packs a serious punch. A small hideaway amplifier pumps out 40 watts per channel. That's double the output of most other car stereos and equal to many aftermarket amplifiers. The extra power will greatly improve your sound when playing music through aftermarket speakers. Sony gives you a nice array of sound shaping tools too, including frequency filters, bass enhancers, and a 10-band EQ. The time alignment feature lets you adjust the output of your speakers so the sound arrives at your listening position at the right time.

High power preamp outputs send a clean signal to other amps and subs. And you can even configure your rear speaker outputs to drive a small subwoofer. Bluetooth lets you talk hands-free and stream music, but Sony takes it a step further on the XB100BT. iPhone users can take advantage of Siri Eyes Free, which lets you use voice commands to make calls, set up reminders, and send text messages. Android users with NFC can tap their phone on the receiver's main knob to pair. This receiver and its amplifier can help you take your car audio to new levels. If you have any questions please give Crutchfield a call.
