Robert: Hi, I'm Robert.

Zak: And I'm Zak.

Robert: And we're here in the Crutchfield studio today with the Eclipse AVN6620. It's a great sounding stereo with built in navigation.

Zak: We were impressed with how fast this navigation system is. Once you enter an address it calculates a route for you in just a few seconds. To test it out we calculated a route from Los Angeles, California to right here at Crutchfield in Charlottesville, Virginia, and as you can see, it calculated a route clear across the country in just a few seconds.

Robert: And the navigation in the unit is DVD-based and sometimes that's not a good thing, but Eclipse has done it right. What they did is install two DVD drives in the stereo. The first one is dedicated for the map disc and the second one is for your CD's or DVD's. That way you can be navigating and listening to music at the same time.

Zak: Speaking of music, this is a really great unit for the serious music listener isn't it?

Robert: It really is. Eclipse has a great reputation for stereos that sound good anyway, and just a couple of features they put in this unit are a seven band equalizer so you can get really precise sound tuning and something called Circle Surround II. That's a feature that creates a surround effect from your four speakers in the car and gives you a really nice rich listening environment in the car.

Zak: And if you're going to build a system around this receiver it's wonderful for that. It gives you three sets of 5-volt preamp outputs. Now usually you get two or maybe two-and-a-half volts out of your average receiver. So this is sending a stronger and cleaner signal to you amps and subs.

Robert: Right. Now, one more thing we wanted to mention about this. When you buy the stereo from Crutchfield, you'll also get Eclipse's Bluetooth adapter. That means you get hands-free calling in the car, making that safer and easier, but if you store music on your phone too, you can stream that through the adapter into the stereo and take advantage of the music on your phone.

Zak: And it saves you a hundred bucks too.

Robert: Right. Now we've only hit the high points about this stereo. If you want to dig into the details of everything Eclipse has put into this, just go to Crutchfield.com/AVN6620.
