Features

Bluetooth Audio Streaming: The Bose SoundLink Color Bluetooth speaker offers built-in Bluetooth (A2DP/AVRCP) technology which lets you wirelessly connect with many Bluetooth enabled devices; such as your iPod/iPhone/iPad, Android smartphone/tablet, Blackberry, Windows PC, Mac computer, other Bluetooth-enabled device. You'll be able to wirelessly stream stored music and music apps on your Bluetooth device to the Bose SoundLink Color speaker system. Bluetooth wireless technology has a range of approximately 30'.

Note: If you need to multitask, you can keep using your device while you listen to music. If you are using a smartphone, a phone call interrupts your audio source and plays through your phone only. When the call ends, your music automatically resumes through the SoundLink Color Bluetooth speaker.

Voice Prompt Pairing + Dual Device Connection: Voice prompts talk you through Bluetooth pairing, making it simple to wireless connect  your Bluetooth-enabled device. The speaker can connect to two Bluetooth devices at the same time, letting you switch between them quickly; when the first device stops playing, the second can start. The speaker even remembers the eight most recent devices you've used, so reconnecting is even easier.

Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Bose SoundLink Color Bluetooth speaker.

Simple Controls: The speaker is designed for ease of use. It features top-panel power, volume, source. playback buttons. From the SoundLink Color you can Play/Pause and Skip to next track of your Bluetooth music. Advanced playback functions and song/artist information are still done from your Bluetooth-enabled device.

Full-Range Sound: Bose Proprietary technologies and a unique design produce clear, well-balanced, full-range sound from this compact Bluetooth speaker. The speaker incorporates two front-firing full-range drivers and one rear-firing passive midbass radiator.

Portable, Colorful Design: The SoundLink Color Bluetooth speaker suits your active, mobile lifestyle and lets you play your music wherever you are, whatever you're doing. The unit's body is constructed of durable materials; and its rounded, compact shape fits easily into your bag or backpack. It's compact and light enough (1.25 lbs) to take along even when you're traveling light. You can choose from five colors; Blue, Mint, Red, Black, or White.

Aux Input: The SoundLink color has a rear-panel 3.5mm auxiliary input for connecting a external portable audio source other than your Bluetooth-enabled device.

Rechargeable Battery: The rechargeable lithium-ion battery gives you up to eight hours of playback time. You can recharge it in a wall outlet using the included AC power adapter or with most USB power sources using the included USB charging cable. The included AC power adapter can also be used to power the speaker.

It's Bluetooth, I use it all the time with my iPad out in the garage and outside working in the yard. It has adequate sound quality. If your cell phone is Bluetooth, it should work with that. Tune the cell into Pandora or other music station, sync the speaker to your cell phone, crank up the volume and rockOn!

The music come from any Bluetooth device likes a phone, Ipad, Android tablet just about anything that can produce a Bluetooth signal will play on this device.
mike  May 03, 2016

The music is selected from your cell phone, but it comes directly connected thru Wi-Fi to the Bose speaker so you can take the speaker anywhere as it is wireless. I find it best to connect my iPhone to a plug so it stays charged when having large parties and you don't want to worry about batteries going down.

I use this with my I phone 5s and it is Bluetooth so I would think it us compatible but I don't know for certain. I do know the speaker is great-sounding. However the word "color" is deceiving. There is no color to it - it's just a speaker.
judith  Dec 19, 2015
A
I don't have a iPod 5th generation. I use it with my iPad and it is solid. If your iPod is wi-fi capable I think you could use it just fine.

Can you play 2 of these speakers at the same time. Off of the same defice. ?
jaime  Mar 01, 2015

A
My iPhone can connect to two different Bluetooth device at the same time but some failures have occurred. I'm not sure about this Bose device as I only one.
richard  Mar 03, 2015
A
I purchased two speakers; one was a Christmas gift. I never tried using both off the same device, but I can't see why it would not work. If both speakers were paired to the device and were in close enough proximity to receive the signal, I would think that it would work. The pairing is quick and very easy...recognition is almost instantaneous. I love the speaker, and it has worked very well. Doubling up with two.....probably would work fine.
doug  Mar 02, 2015
A
No. I think only sono brand speaker can do that.
