Crutchfield: Bose SoundTouch 300 soundbar
The slim Bose SoundTouch® 300 sports a living-room-friendly design (Bose® Acoustimass® 300 sold separately).
There's a lot to love about the Bose® SoundTouch® 300 soundbar. The sleek design includes an ultra-modern glass top panel to punctuate your living room's style. But to truly appreciate how special this bar is, you need to take a deeper dive under the hood.
The SoundTouch® 300's specially shaped drivers help add serious depth and clarity to your favorite shows and movies. Bose's advanced signal processing reads your room and optimizes the acoustics — reflecting sound from the walls to simulate surround sound and shape your home theater experience. Plus, a single cable connection to your TV and a super-simple universal remote make this cutting-edge product easy-to-use.
Bose also offers the optional wireless Acoustimass® 300 — the most powerful bass module they've ever made. It communicates wirelessly with the SoundTouch® 300 to add realistic impact to onscreen effects.
Bose included Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi® for practically endless wireless music options. You also get a first step into a whole-house music system with Bose® SoundTouch®. It lets you wirelessly stream online music services like Pandora® and Spotify®, along with your library of downloaded songs. Expand your system into different rooms by adding other SoundTouch® speakers. A helpful step-by-step mobile app gets you setup and running.
You can even send TV audio to other rooms via SoundTouch. This is perfect if you need to grab a snack while you keep tabs on the game.
Along with the optional Acoustimass bass module, you can add a pair of Bose Virtually Invisible® 300 surround speakers. They work seamlessly with this system, take up little space, and deliver complete wraparound sound effects.

Average Customer Review(s):
The sound is much more clear than the TV speakers. Still trying to figure out the remote and how to get the sound bar menu to show on screen, but other than that I'm happy with it.
Pros: Great sound
Cons: Set up and instruction paper work not very good
Very impressed with this sound bar. The sound travels through the room as if you have surround sound. Little more than I wanted to spend but very happy. You can't go wrong with Bose!
Great sound easy install
Pros: Sound ease of use
A significant improvement over the Sony X900F speakers. Adding the Bose wireless (can be wired too) subwoofer makes a very positive addition to the total sound range.
Went through a couple Sound Bars before I found this one. Found this Soundbar to offer the right balance of sound for television and when playing movies. Looks great - nice design - and setup wasn't terribly difficult. Only downside is to get the full sound experience I am looking for I will need to purchase the pairs Sub. That being said - I intend to do it as the sound is far better on the car than other competitor products in this price point. Would highly recommend!
I am reviewing the unit before I purchase the Base Module. So far, it's not all that great. I dare to say that my Yamaha soundbar with subwoofer sounds better. Also, there is a serious issue with the HDMI-ARC on this unit and BOSE know about it. We will see if they even bother to fix it. Their tech support suggested I just use the optical connection. Well, my TV has no optical connection and I didn't pay at this price to settle for optical. It is a hassle for me to return items so I may just be stuck with it.
Pros: Looks nice
Cons: Lack of crisp highs, and known issue with HDMI-ARC connection.
Amazing sound but it's missing highs.
WOW!!! I was truly shocked when I finished connecting this soundbar and bass module. I put on transformers and sat down. I was blown away from the clarity and depth that this setup produces. Highly recommended
Pros: Easy hookup. Amazing bass and crisp sound
Cons: I bit of a hassle to connect to your phone in order to play music. But well worth it
Great product. Easy set up. Bose and Crutchfield deliver.
Wow! Music never sounded so good. Watching a movie gives you that theatre effect. I would recommend this system to anyone who values their relaxation time.
Purchased the sound touch 300 along with the bose 300 base model. It arrived in perfect order and is solid and nice looking. When using the 300 for TV, the sound is OK. Does not deliver the amazing sound that I am accustomed to with other Bose products. When streaming music via blue tooth the 300 sounds terrible. The mid range coming from the soundbar almost sounds out of tune. I ran the setup procedure several times with no improvement. We also have a JBL SB400 and a Sony sound bar in the house and both sound equal if not better than the bose and are less expensive.
The sound is great! Crisp dialog and a decent amount of bass, even without the subwoofer. It's still early, but looking forward to getting rid of all the wiring that goes with my Acoustimass 10 system. If this produces even half the quality of sound the the Acoustmass produces, I'll be very happy. The clean look and convenience of no wiring and the ability to place the add on speakers almost anywhere is what convinced me this was the way to go. I also did not want a system that uses Bluetooth or wi-fi that might conflict with all the other devices I have. Very happy so far.
Pros: Low profile, Fits nicely in front of tv. Universal remote. East setup, with HDMI and optical connections. I can build onto the system with subwoofer and satellite speakers. Turns on with tv.
Cons: Remote could use Lighted keys. Not easy to return or go back when using Netflix. Would not pair with my Samsung Blu-ray player.
This soundbar has really improved our lives. We live full time in a Motorhome and until now any movies played from my computer have been in stereo now we hear in full sound! The Bass unit too is a must!!
Pros: Easy to set up once you have interpreted the instructions correctly. Even had Crutchfield tec needing a second try! Elegant, great sound.
Recently purchased a Samsung 65"QLED TV. Add the Bose Soundtouch 300 with Accoustimass 300 speaker. It's the best thing that ever happened. If you don't have one of these you're not listening !
The Bose 300 has made a big improvement to my viewing experience, now matching the audio up to the picture performance. The sound is crisp and clear for both TV and listening to music. One negative point, I also own Bose quiet comfort earphones and there is no Bluetooth connection with this sound bar. Disappointing! I should have researched more and not assumed that Bose products would inter connect with each other.
Quality product great sound another great product from Bose you might pay a little more but well worth the cost. Product offers some awesome versatility.
Pros: High Quality Great Sound
Cons: A little pricy but well worth the cost
Oh Yes, what a SoundBar.
Pros: Easy setup Great Sound
As 18yr users of Bose LifeStyle Systems, we have pretty high expectations for the quality of sound associated with our entertainment. The SoundTouch 300 Soundbar does not disappoint! It's easy to set up and works flawlessly with our other Bose SoundTouch products. Even the attempt at surround sound is there....not as impactful as our full 5.1 system(s), but it's there. Our soundbar is paired with the Acoustimass 300 Bass Module, so the value of tones and complete sound is impressive. I'm sure we will ultimately get the SoundTouch Virtually Invisible 300 Rears, but If you're looking for an easy way to get higher quality sound (without having to run wires everywhere), then this is your system.
Pros: Good Array of Sound Clean and Fairly Compact Simple Setup
Cons: Price Make Sure to Pair w/ SoundTouch 300 Bass Module
When I bought my new Samsung QN75Q7F 75" 4K TV I wanted the best possible sound system I could have. After researching I purchased the complete Bose Soundtouch 300 Sound Bar, Bose Acoustimass 300 Bass & Bose VI rear speakers. After initial startup the system came up and sounded great. But after a short time I have started suffering lockups with the system and failure to operate. After numerous phone calls to Bose and resetting the system it may work 2 months or 2 days before going back through the same process. The only solution from Bose is to NOT use the HDMI ARC connection and use the Optical Cable connection. I really feel like a sucker spending so much hard earned money on a worthless pile of junk! And have let my displeasure be known to Bose who really could care less because they have their money and could care less about making this right! I WOULD GIVE IT A 0 STAR BUT THATS NOT AVAILABE!!!
I don't know. Can't figure out how to set this thing up.
Great little Soundbar! Provides very good audio and enhanced TV voice from a very small profile. The addition of a Sub would really make it shine. Should be more than adequate for almost any small to medium sized room. Had some issues with the sound cutting out with the HDMI/ARC connection. The optical cable and works well with no discernible difference in sound thus far. R.L.
i love the sound bar best one i have ever owned. i only have one problem with the sound bar and that is that it disconnects it self from the arc port or something. basically the tv does not notice the sound bar anymore and i have a brand new Samsung curved 4k 8500 series. i shouldn't have any problems but i guess a lot of people have the same issue
Pros: Great sound. i love this sound bar i was blown away when i herd it. one time at the store and i knew i had to have it
Cons: i think there is an ark port problem that is common. i wish i could use it but it only works for two days then it somehow thinks its not connected
I would have rated this Bose product a 5 star because of the sound quality and richness ( wow, just a sound bar) but it kept turning off the whole system? (wireless problem?) I disconnected it and problem went away? All my other wireless electronics work good?
Pros: simple to connect, great sound (for a sound bar)
Cons: I have owned many Bose products over the years and have been very happy with all of them, Good quality and reliability. Except this small glitch?
The sound is fantastic. I couldn't be happier. Also, it is very easy to connect and set-up.
Great product. Easy delivery and install
Excellent sound bar! Sound is very clear and using ARC on my tv works well. When paired with the Bose Subwoofer base is awesome!
Pros: Design Sound Flawless setup
Very nice sound. As others have commented these speakers are superior with far richer mid-range and bass relative to the speakers on my Sony TV. On the negative side, set-up took longer than anticipated since Bose's instructions are near non-existent if you need an optical cable. A bit of troubleshooting courtesy of the Sony web site solved my problem. Setting up the Bluetooth was straightforward/works well. However, I can not recommend their WiFi connectivity/app for Android. After setting it up my phone can never seem to locate the speaker. I've given up trying to fix this since I primarily wanted replacement sound for the TV.
I've been extremely pleased with the SoundTouch 300 soundbar and highly recommend it. I actually had the chance to listen to a complete Bose SoundTouch 300 setup at the Bose store in my local mall before purchasing and it truly rocked. The store employee tried to get to buy but I told him I'll get it from Crutchfield. He laughed and told me everyone does that. It is paired with the Acoustimass 300, LG OLED TV and FireTV. I've had no issues with the HDMI-ARC that folks have experienced with Samsung TVs. Do make sure that you have a quality HDMI cable that is rated for 4k. The sound bar sounds great especially when playing music from my iPhone via Bluetooth or wifi. I do agree with other reviewers that setup was a bit complicated and the app is not the best. Once you get everything working, you will not regret the purchase.
Cons: setup a bit complicated Bose App not the best
Easy set up. Terrific sound for small family room. Remote a little hard to get programmed but eventually got it to capture cable box and Apple TV.
Pros: Terrific sound, high quality construction
This unit, along with the subwoofer and surround speakers still does not support Dolby Atmos and is only a 5.1 system. After hearing Atmos this is definitely flat and does not provide the immersive experience I was looking for. I will return it and get the Samsung HW-K950. Note that neither of these works well using the HDMI-ARC interface. The TV won't recognize the Bose at all and the Samsung disconnects randomly and sometimes does not connect even with a new Samsung TV. I have been told that the ARC interface is still in development and is not a stable specification yet. The work around is to use the optical connection until this is sorted out at which time I assume there will be a firmware update.
Pros: Great, clear sound, excellent bass, easy setup
Cons: Won't support Dolby 7.1 or Atmos. Not immersive.
This is the best sound bar I have ever owned. Paired with the Bose Acoustimass 300 Bass module, the system delivers outstanding home theater as well as music listening. The set-up was very simple and the wireless pairing with the bass module was a breeze. The universal remote was easy to program, and controls my entire system (TV, Cable Box, Apple TV). I don't have the slightest hesitation providing the product with a 5 star review.
Pros: Sound quality for home theatre (thunderous bass when paired with the sub) Sound quality for music listening (amazing range and clarity) Very easy set-up Programmable remote controls entire system
Cons: The power cord and HDMI are in two separate compartments on the back, requiring that you create two wall openings for connection (if you are wall mounting). Easily overcome, but I wonder why it was designed that way...
Can't be happier with my bose sound bar. Sound quality is excellent and I am surprised with bass . What to say about Crutchfield. Fantastic shopping experience and customer service. Would highly recommend.
Pros: excellent sound Good bass
Cons: App integration could be better.
I bought this to replace the Bose system I have had in my living room for 10+ years which I have loved. Set up was wayyy more complicated than what was necessary. I will say, this sound bar sounds great but the SoundTouch app makes it a pain in the butt to use. It constantly disconnects itself from WiFi and the Bluetooth range is terrible, anything farther than 20ft and the signal is lost. The app over complicates things and there is a lot of lag. My suggestion to Bose is to improve the Bluetooth and scrap the app. Everything you can do on the app can pretty much be done through Bluetooth. My experience with this system has turned me away from Bose. There are many more options that sound better and are more user friendly.
The sound reproduction could not be better. Bose support is great. Connecting this to a PC does require patience and the correct interface devices on the PC side (which is where I am using this speaker). Bluetooth is the recommended interface. PCs normally do not have a bluetooth transceiver attached - I did need to purchase one (small cost). To connect the speaker to a bluetooth-ready device like a cell phone is a snap.
Very good sound bar the best sound bar that is out there sonos sound bar is good to but bose sound bar is better every home theater system that I own is from bose, Keep up the good work bose. I would recommend this sound bar to any 1
Pros: Great quality and very good sound ease of set up.
Absolutely love this bar. Great sound. We both have hearing loss and we can understand everything being said. This replaced a 6 piece speaker system and blows it away.
Pros: Ease of setup and high quality sound
Cons: None so far.
Big sound from a small package
Sound clear and crisp, I can hear the detail.
Pros: Good for 1 bedroom apartment.
Cons: ARC doesn't work with my 2015 Samsung tv.
Pros: Easy set up
I had to create some space so I gave up a traditional 5.1 setup. I wouldn't suggest that this soundbar is a direct replacement for a full on surround sound setup by any means, but it is quite appealing for its profile. Voices sound nice and clear. Good speration of sounds/channels out of box. I plan on pairing this up with the subwoofer and satilites in the future. I dig it!
Pros: Looks nice and clean. Voices sound nice and clear. Good speration of sounds/channels out of box. The app is simple (tired of fiddling with settings).
Cons: Could definitely use the subwoofer (expected).
Outstanding product as always from Bose..! Crisp clear voice with bass (spectate though)..!
Almost perfect if only it had Apple Music streaming. Hopefully soon
The Bose SoundTouch 300 sounds great. It is a little tricky to set up at first and the instructions could have been better; however, I work in IT and most things like this are usually a walk in the park for me. It will take a little time for anyone to truly learn and take advantage of all that it can do. I like the fact that I can play music via Bluetooth. My TV and DirecTV receiver can also be configured to work with the remote and it performs well. The dialog button is also a great feature. I tend to have trouble hearing conversations and all you have to do is press one button, an LED light on the soundbar turns green, and you can hear every word clearly. I was considering at the Sonos Playbar and the Bose SoundTouch 300. The Bose SoundTouch 300 won out because they were both comparable in almost every way, including price. However, the Bose was capable of using WiFi and Bluetooth and was compatible with DTS and Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound. The Sonos Playbar is not compatible with DTS and does not use Bluetooth. I like the versatility.
Pros: Sound quality Can control TV and DirecTV receiver as well Dialog button really highlights conversations WiFi and Bluetooth Compatible with DTS and Dolby 5.1
Cons: Instructions are not the best.
The sound is great. That AdaptIQ isnt working properly so I need to call about that. Must get the subwoofer that goes with it.
Pros: Good sound
Cons: Adaptiq setup not working The app is not good
Good so far, seems to be a little buggy but manageable. When I turn on, sometimes 1 light(tv) comes on, and sometimes 3 lights blink then go off. Being older, hearing problems, I have had to adjust the bass low and use the clear voice... which works out fine. With music, I increase the bass and enjoy. Music is good (Bluetooth from iPhone)...not as good as a separate stereo (amp,speakers...Carver,Lynn) but for a one piece unit, very acceptable. Manual is somewhat confusing but you can make it work. Called Bose for advise on a issue... (voices on all channels had an echo effect)...waste of time... all they do is read the manual back to you. Shame that they have no tech support but can read nicely. Crutchfield tech had some excellent suggestions. In my 60 day trial period, satisfied so far. More later.
Cons: Display rather than 5 lights as to status would have been nice
Bought this 2 weeks ago after speaking to Zac in customer service. Zac was incredible pointing out the positives on a number of sound bars including ones less expensive. I really liked the way he didn't automatically go to the big ticket item. Amazing sound and the voice clarity is unbelievable. Had another sound bar before this one and one of the reasons I sent it back was the voice clarity. It had great sound but when the action started, the voices became lost and difficult to hear. The Bose 300 does not have that problem. It has voice enhancement button but you really don't need it in my own opinion. I bought the matching wireless sub woofer with the bar and I'm glad I did. For a 10 inch sub, it does not over power the room and is adjustable. Some people stated the had connection issues but I have had no issues. I am using the optical hook up which works great. One wire from the TV and your set. It plays music, TV and movies very well and I still find myself looking left and right sometimes as the bar is great at throwing sound around the room. I went from a 5.1 system to this and have no regrets. Clean and simple. Over all very satisfied with the product, purchase and Crutchfield.
Pros: Great sound, clean looking
Cons: Price, Lack of a full instruction booklet (had to find it online)
Quite honestly this Bose sound bar is fantastic. It could easily be the only addition to your TV sound to get clear dialog and good bass. I'm a movie fanatic so I just had to add the Bose wireless bass. After all who doesn't like good bass? My next purchase will be surround speakers.
Pros: To quality product that lives up to the Bose reputation.
Great sound bar, sound quality is excellent. Had the sound bar up and running in less than 45 minutes and this includes programming the remote to the Xbox, Apple TV, and the DIRECTV receiver. Everything works together great and the build quality is top notch.
Pros: Ease of setup Sound quality Top notch build
Cons: None as of yet
After reading all the wonderful -- if not near fanatical -- reviews of this product, I knew I'd finally stumbled upon the solution to my poor sound from my new 55" SUHD Samsung TV. I've owned Many Bose products through the years and they have always been second-to-none in my books. I honestly expected the same from this product. Especially considering the reviews here! I couldn't have been more wrong. If you're thinking of purchasing this item, please keep reading for the details... True to other reviews, the build quality of the system is stellar. The big selling points to me on this system was the TV connectivity via HDMI ARC. This would allow me to connect to my TV, bypass a receiver entirely, and still have the optical out on my TV to go to a pair of wireless headphones. I connected mine via the included Bose HDMI cable and followed the instructions included. The entire process was painless and worked as advertised... for about 48 hours until I ran into the bugs. LONG story short... there apparently is a well documented, known bug in this system when used with the HDMI ARC connection that loses all connectivity and sound. The fix is either frequent resets of the entire system or to fall back to an optical-only connection. This has rendered my system useless. Looking on Bose's support forum for my issue revealed a thread of 6000+ views, 22 pages, and hundreds of posts of users suffering the exact same issues. If you plan to use HDMI ARC, please bel
Pros: Style, build quality
Cons: Reliability, function, sound, connectivity, supportCrutchfield response on 1/25/2017 Thanks for your review, Jeff. We sent this to Bose and their technicians confirmed that there is an HDMI ARC "handshake" issue between some Samsung 4K TVs and this sound bar. Bose tells us that they are working with Samsung engineers to solve the problem. As a short-term sound solution, you can connect the SoundTouch 300 to your TV with an optical digital cable.
Another great sounding product by Bose. The sound quality is great. And it all about the sound. I added the Bose Acoustimass subwoofer for some added bass. I had an easy time setting up and adding the subwoofer even though the instructions are pretty bad. I would have given this 5 stars but the application does not have all the bells and whistles that the Sonos application has. The Bose Sound touch does not have the ability to stream Apple Music, limted number of streaming service, no way to seacrh accross all services, can create a queue or playlist, etc....
Pros: Sound Sound Build Quality Bluetooth
Cons: Soundtouch App Optical Cable Provided Setup Instructions
Typical Bose build fit and finish and stylish looks and nice materials (no chromed plastic junkiness). Very well made. As for sound, so much better than my previous Sony platform soundbar. Has nicely defined dialogue with shows and movies and sometimes I am shocked at how well their is separation of voices from the background music. Sometimes when I have to use my soundbar to play my music, it nicely performs music duties as I am a sort of audiophile, and while no comparison to a full 2 channel rig, it sounds good enough when I stream my Tidal to it. Setup is typical as with all these things, they all have their nuances and annoyances and once I figured out how to enable the Bravia sync on my TV, the ARC connection is pretty cool. While I can appreciate the lack of display as with audiophile equipment, for a TV setup it is a sort of loss of convenience but not a show stopper. The great looks and sound are the main events. The room adjustment headphone setup thingy through me an error so I abandoned that "room tuning" feature which Bose loves the electronic trickery stuff which I really do not care about. Overall very happy with this soundbar. If you can bear the price of entry, it should be a purchase that provides lots of enjoyment.
Pros: Sound quality with movies and music, build quality, fit. finish and looks.
Cons: Crowded connection area
The bose 300 soundbar sounds wonderful. Much better than the TV speakers. Crutchfield delivered it very fast! It was easy to setup and get working with the TV. We have an older TV so can only use the optical connection but the connector came with the soundbar so that was very nice. In the near future will get it to work with other streaming services and I expect no problem. Would definitely by again from Crutchfield. Am planning on buying more wireless bose speakers in the future for a complete surround sound. The remote is also very good as it can control more than 1 device so its more like a universal remote. I debated on the Sonos soundbar but the bose had more connections and the 2 ways to connect wirelessly.
Pros: Excellent sound, easy setup and Universal remote and wiring included with soundbar to hook up different ways. Also you can use wifi or bluetooth for connectivity
Cons: Little expensive.
It is a great sound bar! I've lisened to other brands but Bose was the best sounding. I like boss speakers, I also have a pair of 901's, which I love! Tried to over power them but could't do it! They handle it! That's why they are rated for unlimited watts! Awsome speakers!
Awesome sound. Beautiful and robust soundbar. I wish it had more HDMI input. I chose this unit over the SONOS soundbar because it offers connectivity through Wifi and Bluetooth. The app is a gateway to a comprehensive portfolio of internet stations. Consider purchasing the bass module and the rear speakers: these components will enrich the listening experience tenfold.
Pros: Easy to pair with bass module and rear speakers Great sound but (please) buy the bass module and rear speakers for an ethereal experience
Cons: Not enough HDMI inputs I can not pair it with my cable box somewhat expensive
Was looking for "full sound" in a Bluetooth-capable soundbar and the Soundtouch 300 does just that without bulky components. Good bass but much better when additional subwoofer is added.
Pros: Great sound detail on Music and TV Easy setup
Cons: Soundtouch app is somewhat cumbersome
The SoundTouch 300 is a beautiful piece of equipment and provides more than adequate audio to my OLED TV. The ADAPTiQ room calibration is quite cool although I haven't been able to assess the level of spatial improvement. The SoundTouch App allows you to stream other internet based sources to the device from your smart phone or computer. This is very nice except I have not been able to get the Bose device to recognize my Synology NAS music library and Synology is one of the NAS devices recommended by Bose for this purpose.
Pros: Excellent sound and aesthetics
Cons: Expensive and does not recognize my Synology NAS music library
Purchased this as part of a home theater system in the making. Presently, it is connected to a plasma TV and the sound quality is not much better than that coming out of the TV. It is unfair to judge/rate this speaker at this point but I will supplement this review once the system is complete.
Pros: Size, easy setup
The soundbar looks great and it definitely sounds better than other soundbars I've tried (e.g. Vizio). However, I'm not sure if it's few hundred dollars better than other soundbars in the market. I would give a five star if it was in the $400-$500 range. Bass is good, but if you had a full system before, you would notice bass is lacking. I'm debating whether to spend another $700 for the subwoofer, which once again sounds too pricey.
Pros: Great sound Great design HDMI Arc connection (Sonus doesn't seem to have this)
Cons: Pricey Must buy Bose subwoofer ($699) if you want more bass
Best Sound bar sound !
Was expecting a little better sound but overall pretty good. Guess you have to spend the extra and get the subs and rear to go with it.
The Bose SoundTouch 300 Soundbar is the typical Bose quality with great sound. There is no real need to add the subwoofer unless you like additional deeper bass. I will add the subwoofer as soon as Crutchfield gets it in stock. Another great product from Bose.
Pros: High quality and great sound. Easy setup, and great packaging.
This is an excellent soundbar with potential for expanding as the budget allows. This has a tool to match the sound dynamics with your room, 4K HDMI input/output, and Optical. I found the sound and bass incredibly potent for a soundbar at this price range. There's a few levels of bass, so make sure to maximize it (refer to manual) to get the best impact. This is used in a large bedroom, and configured the 5 locations at approximately the same 2-3' location. Streaming has been flawless from the Sound touch application using an online streaming service. It looks stunning, was just released, has 4K, the only complaint is price but given it is the same as less capable competitors without 4K/HDMI, doesn't seem to have that BOSE extravagance cost. I also now added the surround speakers and Sub. It went from a great sounding soundbar, to an extreme full 5.1 system. I have my XB1-S plugged directly into the HDMI, and streams 4K and legitimate 5.1 surround. I first purchased another soundbar with wireless surrounds, which sounded great for music but movies/games sounded like virtual surround at best. It also only had Optical, so most TV's could not pass through 5.1 on other sources connected to the TV.
Pros: Amazing Sound 4K HDMI Looks Great Able to expand
Great sound and better surround than the old Samsung system had. Highly recommend this system. Super easy to set up and use.
Excellent sound bar, good looks, small footprint
Pros: sound, looks, universal remote
Cons: could use a sub-woofer
Easy to set up and sounds great. I decided that I do not need the wireless subwoofer. I really like the option of using either wi-fi or Bluetooth to play music. I like that there is an ARC connection. Looks great also. I don't use the included universal remote and prefer to use my Comcast universal voice remote. Worth the money and it has been an excellent upgrade for me!
Pros: Sounds great. Good bass without a subwoofer. Dialogue mode works well. Looks great too!
Cons: A little pricey but worth the money.

Bose Technologies: For spaciousness, the Bose SoundTouch 300 soundbar uses exclusive PhaseGuide arrays to send signals to the left and right of the room, so you'll hear separate channels of a movie soundtrack or song coming from places where there are no speakers. Proprietary QuietPort technology ensures deep, clean bass at any volume - so you can turn it up, and it won't distort. The SoundTouch 300 also incorporates advanced DSP (digital signal processing) for detail and balance across all frequencies.
ADAPTiQ Audio Calibration: The SoundTouch 300's performance is customized to the acoustics of your room with Bose ADAPTiQ Audio Calibration. ADAPTiQ Audio Calibration analyzes the way your room's dimensions and other variables affect sound, then automatically adjusts the sound of your speaker system to the acoustics of your room. To perform a calibration you need about 10 minutes when the room is quiet. While wearing the included special headset, the system will ask you to place yourself in five different locations (sitting or standing) in your listening area as the system takes measurements in each. Audio prompts from the system will guide you through the process.
HDMI 2.0a (4K/HDR Pass-Through): The Bose SoundTouch 300 is equipped with an HDMI 2.0a input and output. The HDMI input and output will pass up to a 4K/60Hz video signal, as well as HDR (High Dynamic Range) video. The SoundTouch 300's HDMI jacks also support HDCP 2.2 copyright protection for compatibility with 4K ultra-HD content from satellite/cable providers, online video services, and Blu-ray.
Note: The ARC-enabled HDMI input of some televisions will only pass 2ch PCM from devices connected to the TV via HDMI or analog.
Optical Digital Input: If your TV is not equipped with an HDMI ARC jack, the Bose SoundTouch 300 also features an optical (toslink) digital input that supports 2ch PCM, 5.1ch Dolby Digital, and 5.1ch DTS. This soundbar does not offer analog audio inputs.
Note: The digital optical output of many flat-panel TVs only send an audio signal in 5.1ch when receiving Dolby Digital/DTS surround sound from the TV's built-in tuner, network connection, or connected USB device; and will output only 2ch stereo from sources connected to the TV via HDMI, or RCA (like your Blue-ray/DVD player or satellite/cable box).
Universal Remote Control: The Bose SoundTouch 300 includes an IR universal remote control for wireless operation of the soundbar speaker system. You can also program the universal remote to control your TV, Blu-ray player, or cable/satellite box. If you choose, you can program most other manufacturer universal remote controllers to operate the Bose SoundTouch 300.
Dialog Mode & Bass Level: Dialog Mode improves the clarity of dialog and vocals in movies, TV programs, and podcasts by adjusting the tonal balance of the system. You can also increase the soundbar's Bass Level independent from the system's overall volume level.
Auto-Wake: You can set the Bose soundbar to power on whenever an audio signal is received via HDMI or Optical.
Mounting Options: The Bose SoundTouch 300 can simply be placed on a shelf below or above your TV. It slim-profile even allows you to sit the soundbar in front of most TVs without blocking the screen or interfering with TV's IR remote. The optional WB-300 wall bracket (018WB300, sold separately) lets you mount the SoundTouch 300 soundbar speaker flush to the wall.
Note: The SoundTouch 300 uses the reflective surfaces of the room to deliver a spacious home theater experience. To ensure optimal audio performance, the soundbar should be placed equidistant from each side wall and directly in front/center of the TV. No objects should be placed on either side of the soundbar, nor should it be placed inside a cabinet, as this would result in a limited sound stage.
Optional Wireless Powered Sub: The SoundTouch 300 will wirelessly connect to the Bose SoundTouch Acoustimass 300 bass module (018AM300, sold separately) for deep bass performance from your system. The optional powered sub can also be connected via a minijack cable if you are getting wireless interference. An available firmware update lets you pair a second Bose SoundTouch Acoustimass 300 bass module (sold separately).
Optional Wireless Rear Speakers: The SoundTouch 300 will wirelessly connect to the Bose SoundTouch Virtually Invisible 300 rear surround speakers (018VI300, sold separately) for more enveloping, immersive surround sound.
SoundTouch Wireless Audio: The SoundTouch 300 soundbar is part of the Bose SoundTouch wireless music ecosystem which allows you to play music throughout your home. The SoundTouch ecosystem is able to stream music wirelessly throughout your house over your home's WiFi network; it even works with your Bluetooth devices. A free Bose app transforms your Apple iOS or Android mobile device into the system's remote control.

The SoundTouch 300 features an Ethernet R-J45 port and built-in WiFi (802.11 b/g/n; 2.4/5.0GHz). The systemr's network connection can be setup initially from the SoundTouch Controller App on your Apple iOS (7.0+) device or Android (4.1+) smartphone/tablet.
SoundTouch Controller App: The Bose SoundTouch Controller app is required for initial setup and control of the Bose SoundTouch music system. The Bose SoundTouch Controller app can be downloaded on your Apple iOS iPod/iPhone/iPad, Android smartphone/tablet, Windows PC, or Mac computer. Now you'll be able to setup and control the SoundTouch system from your Apple iOS or Android device, or from your Windows or Mac computer. Variety Of Music Sources: The Bose SoundTouch wireless audio system supports a variety of music options; including Internet Radio, select online music services, music files stored on your computer, as well as stored music & music apps on your Apple iOS or Android device.
Multiroom Audio: For most home networks, you can link up to four SoundTouch music systems together for a multi-room/multi-source audio experience. For more than four rooms, Bose recommends using Ethernet wired connections to some of the SoundTouch systems. You are able to play the same music source or different music source on each SoundTouch system, using the SoundTouch app on your Apple iOS/Android device or Windows/Mac computer. Multiroom audio sources include the following -
Note: HDMI inputs and the optical input do not support multiroom audio.
Six Presets: You can personalize six presets to your favorite streaming music services and Internet radio stations, or playlists, artists, albums, and songs from your computer's music library. The presets can easily be set, changed, and accessed directly with the included remote control or the free SoundTouch app on your Apple iOS iPod/iPhone/iPad, Android smartphone/tablet, or Windows/Mac computer. You cannot set presets to a Bluetooth source.
Alexa Skill (via Firmware Update): The new Bose Skill for Amazon Alexa is available through a free network firmware update and is enabled through the Skills section of the Amazon Alexa companion app on your Apple iOS or Android device. The update enables you to control certain elements of the SoundTouch experience through Alexa by speaking to an Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Tap, Echo Show, or other Alexa-enabled device. Simply say "Alexa, ask Bose to...". Voice control functions include-
microUSB Port (Setup Only): The soundbar's microUSB port is for setup only. The microUSB port is not designed to playback or charge smartphones, tablets, thumbdrives, or other similar devices.
