Bill from Natural Bridge, VA on 4/9/2022
Excellent CD player. Very smooth and quiet in operation. CDs sound very realistic with excellent frequency response and zero noise. Matches very nicely with my Denon AVR-X3500H (also purchased from Crutchfield as were my Polk speakers, LG 65NANO90 tv, and Panasonic 820 4K Blu-ray player).
Pros: Smooth and quiet operation. Great sound. Classic Denon looks.
Cons: No disc drawer open/close button on remote.

The Denon DCD-600NE is terrific. Noting that I recently upgraded from a significantly lesser unit, I really love this CD player. Playback is clear and warm, design is clean and practical, and the price is right. I considered spending significantly more but felt that I, personally, may not appreciate the difference in most settings. I have no regrets and would recommend this player.
Pros: (1) playback warmth, (2) design, (3) price

Mark from Stevensville, MT on 3/21/2022
I'm very happy with the new DCD-600NE. I bought this player to replace my old Denon DCD-600 I bought in 1987. I paired the new player with a Denon DRA-35V receiver and a pair of Bose 501 speakers (also purchased in 1987), the sound is great. The review by Eric A was very helpful. Eric's description of the player and performance is excellent. Thank you

It's OK.
Richard from Knoxville, TN on 2/3/2022
So far it seems like a decent machine, but there are a few minor things that I don't like compared to my Onkyo C-7030. First is the remote, which it shares with a receiver, so very few of the buttons on it are even relevant unless you also have the Denon receiver. You cannot open the disc drawer with the remote. When powered off it won't turn on and open when you just hit the open button like on the Onkyo. Also, when loading an MP3 CD, many times it will say that it cannot read the disc before it finally does (again, discs that I have no issue with on my Onkyo). So time will tell. I think it's a bit expensive for such a basic player as well.
Pros: Looks good. Sounds good. Seems well built.
Cons: Not a dedicated remote. Cannot open drawer from remote. Trouble reading MP3 discs.

Unit has good sound, however, when opening and closing the tray, it is quite a bit noisier than my Rotel CD11 Tribute. Otherwise, it meets my needs for my second system. As always, great price and service from Crutchfield.
Pros: Good sounding unit for a reasonable price, great service as I received it within 3 days from ordering.
Cons: Opening & closing the tray is a bit noisy, otherwise a good buy for the money.

I've been using my Denon DCD-600NE for two weeks now and I can say that I am very happy with it. It looks sober and it sounds great. Installation was fast and easy. I recommend it to anybody looking for a quality cd player.
Pros: Very detailed sound. Sober, elegant looks. Easy to install to my amp.
Cons: None of significance. Maybe the display numbers could be a little bigger.

Pricey but worth it
Ronald from Milton, FL on 1/19/2022
Pricey for a CD player with no bells and whistles but the performance speaks for itself. The appearance is simple and understated but in my opinion elegant. The build quality is very good. I am not an audiophile expert but it is obvious that most of the cost went into utilizing higher end audio components. The sound is warm and clear. It can only get better with more break in time
Pros: High quality inside and out
Cons: None so far

The Denon has good sound. I'm just disappointed that multiple disc players are no longer relevant. Having to get up and change each CD is a bummer. My previous Kenwood CD player had excellent sound, readable panel and I could program up to 30 tracks. It lasted 25 years without a warranty. The digital panel on the Denon is very hard to read.

I ordered this CD player mainly because it was one of the few that had a five star ratting in the reviews. It seems solidly built and sounds very good. I gave it a four star rating because I can't see the information in the function/display window from across a small room and I had originally wanted a Yamaha CD player, the Yamaha CD-S300 (#?), but it was always out of stock with arrival date unknown.
Pros: solidly built,sounds great .
Cons: I don't like the looks of the front panel and the display window cannot be read from across a smal room.

So far so good.
Crutchfield customer from East Newark, NJ on 2/3/2021
I haven't owned a single cd player in a very long time. I would have preferred a modern 5 disc carousel or 400 disc changer, but Sony stopped making a long time ago. The player is very basic in the rear: optical, rca connectors. HDMI and/or yellow RCA for video output would have been nice to display on TV, but maybe the thought process for Denon is keeping audio signal clean as possible from interference. I don't understand why there is no eject button on remote, but I suppose if you are ejecting a disc you need to be next to player since it only holds one disc anyway. Plays well, just hope it lasts for years because it is getting difficult to find CD players. I would recommend ripping your entire CD collection as WAV files, as HDD storage space is so huge and affordable, because MP3 is far inferior sound. Another thing I don't like is this only plays MP3 AND WMA file formats; FLAC is only compression worth playing on an audiophile system. I recommend this device.

I'm glad I persevered and ordered this even though it was out of stock until December 28. It was not a lie! They shipped it on Monday January 4 and I got it Wednesday January 6. It is a 4 step hook-up, 3 if you don't use a remote. So simple and perfect for me who knows nothing about audio setups! Plugged it into my Denon Amplifier, plugged it into the outlet, and now listening to my CDs once again! Thank you for making it so easy, and for not promising it would be restocked and then not restocking it, like most companies. Great sounding product as well. I knew it was the one when I found it. 500% better than my Sony portable unit.

Music as it should sound!
Crutchfield customer from Santa Fe, NM on 10/14/2020
Paired the Denon DCD-600NE just purchased from Crutchfield with a 24 yr. old Denon stereo receiver model DRA-275R bought new and still working flawlessly that's connected to two ancient Jensen OPC speakers. The sound has never been better, even more so with the pure direct function enabled. The only slight drawback is my DRA-275R is so old I must use two remotes to operate various functions. I can live with that. I'm not an audiophile, but I enjoy listening to music as it was meant to sound and Denon delivers.

Nice basic deck and good price, but front control labels are hard to read in subdued light and the frequency response at bottom and top ends is not what I expected, certainly not the 20-20,000 Hz in published specs. A decent and simple player. I like the dynamics and open spacious sound. I don't care for it's brightness, but I adjusted for that. It is not as clean and crisp as my old Sony SACD/CD player, there is a bit of smear in the highs, but not enough to notice on a low cost system. Considering the low cost, it is actually pretty good! I just wanted to use this for background music on a my higher end system since I prefer LPs for serious listening. Thank you Crutchfield, I am a happy customer.

Denon DCD-600NE
Tom from Elmwood Park, IL on 5/7/2020
Bought this a month ago from Crutchfield , replacing a 20-year-old Denon CD changer that had finally broken on me. I am running it through a pair of Infinity Beta 50s. With jazz, Steely Dan, Lou Reed Berlin's live album, the sound just jumps out of the speakers. Great unit, great purchase. You can never go wrong with Denon.

REview and comments pro and con on service/product
Crutchfield customer from Knoxville, TN on 4/27/2020
I purchased a 3 year warranty and was not able to EVER download the policy. Think, so far, the Denon is OK. But I paid for reassurance with an extended warranty and I have no idea what it will cover. Your company did NOT help me with this matter. The Star rating for them is 1. I realize it is an outside vendor but they do business with that vendor and should supply the warranty to me. I given up any hope on ever receiving a copy.
Pros: Denon is fine dependable name
Cons: No warranty copy I purchased in addition to the product. Totally unacceptable and very disappointed

The Denon unit was easy to install and the sound is outstanding. I have it paired with a Yamaha S3000 amp and B&W large speakers. I would recommend this product to anyone.
