For the price, great stereo system, my only drawback is the USB shuffle. If you have multiple albums on your USB stick, it will only shuffle within one album at a time. There is no "all shuffle" for the entire music library.
Pros: Great value
Cons: Shuffle features for the USB playback

Decent radio for the money
Crutchfield customer from Milton, FL on 2/27/2021
2006 Ford Mustang
Radio is simple and easy to install with kit and operate. Sound is a good as my factory Shaker 500 system in the Mustang. SD slot is terrible design it's way too close to edge of radio and the cover doesn't open enough so you can really see what your doing to put the card in, I loaded a card with music and tried to put it in and somehow managed to slide it to the left of the slot guide and now my SD card is forever lost somewhere inside the radio! Not sure what to do at this point because it would void warranty to try and disassemble the radio to retrieve it, guess I'll hope the pins on the card don't make contact with electronics inside the radio and just buy another card.....
Pros: Price, Functionality, Sound Quality, easy to install
Cons: SD card slot and cover are terrible design would have been better with a hinged cover and swap the USB port and SD slot so you can have better view of SD slot to put a card in.

So far this system is so much better than what it replaces. For me some features don't goes as I want, but my requirements are not every ones. To set up SD card took a lot of work, fortunately I had done it for last radio. I will definitely recommend.
Pros: Micro SD card
Cons: Have to put in random each time you start vehicle. Though not too bad to engage after. Owners manual showed graphic equalizer but didn't say how to get ther, I figured it out.

Tons of features on a budget!
Tim from Swanton on 2/21/2021
2006 GMC Sierra 1500
Needed to upgrade my stock stereo that wasn't quite up to the challenge any longer. I was looking for a stereo that had Bluetooth so I could do hands free calling and to play my music from my phone. I found this Boss system and just finished installing it and setting it up. Bluetooth works great a long with the touch screen. The sound is fantastic and there are a lot of settings to customize everything to your liking. Not sure about the longevity but it seems to be of good quality, but we shall see. I would recommend this stereo to anyone on a budget and looking to get the features that people need in today's vehicles.
Pros: Tons of modern features on a budget. Big touch screen and good sound.
Cons: Haven't found any yet

I bought this radio for my daughter's 2008 Jeep Wrangler.after removal of rear bracket and some trimming around opening ,installation was a success.sound is much better than bone stock factory radio could use upgraded speakers but that's for another day.it has been 6 weeks since installation all is well.Bluetooth has cut off in the middle of music twice but hopefully that was a fluke.she mainly uses it for music on her apple phone.looks like she will be a keeper.oh by the way the installation kit was a breeze.thanks crutchfield.Al the Rocker Houston Texas

Wanted an in expensive radio to update a factory gig in my 04 Grand Marquis. I have been pleasantly surprised and impressed with this Boss radio. For the sale price you can't beat it. It has a nice look and I wanted simplicity. The knob handles on/off and volume. I love that you can press the knob slightly and it mutes the radio while at a drive thru. Handsfree phone works great and a built in mic is a plus. Was surprised how well the built in 20amps drove my factory speakers. Sound is excellent and easy programming with the touch screen is nice. Dvd movies play excellent as well. Crutchfield was excellent. Fast shipping and the pre-wired harness was plug and play, worth the $ in my book. Talk to tech support 2 times. Only had to wait 2-4 minutes and they were very knowledgeable. I'm glad I bought it!!!

For the price, you can't complain. It has a built in microphone, the main reason I bought it aside from the touch screen. There is no press and hold type of control, you can only do momentary press to do things like change the station or some other value. Also, I have noticed an occasional momentary 'pause' in my music when playing music via Bluetooth from my phone. Which is something I have only had happen once before on a much older Boss model as well, and never on my other head unit...

Terrific value & feature set with just a few compromises
Crutchfield customer from COLUMBIA, MO on 1/8/2021
Great feature set on this one, especially for the low price. Good sound, tons of input options, easy & effective Bluetooth streaming, calls work well with the built-in mic, tuner picks up stations well, the interface is clean & straightforward, and the display is clear in a variety of conditions. I like it a lot. The only downside I've found involves the EQ. EQ settings are easy to get to - one tap on the main player window - but options are limited. EQ is handled by presets (no tone controls for quick adjustments), you only get one user preset (per input source), & the built-in presets are mostly so bad as to be unusable, & can't be edited. It's annoying because it's just a software choice - if they had, say, 3 user presets, or allowed editing the built-in presets, it'd be great. And the slider-based EQ controls are awkward to use, especially when driving. I've taken some time to tweak the user preset for each input and mostly toggle between that and the "Electric" preset. It's by no means a dealbreaker, I would definitely buy this again, but it's the one annoyance in an otherwise great receiver. Spend some time tweaking that one user preset for each input and you should be okay. Installation was straightforward in my '03 Subaru Forester, apart from some ambiguity about how/where to connect to the parking brake wire (which I managed to sort out). The manual doesn't explain how to insert a microSD card; put it in "upside down" (with the gold contact area facing
Pros: - Lots of choices for inputs & all work well - Phone pairing is easy and calls work well - Clean, straightforward interface - Tuner works well and sounds good - Good number of frequency bands in EQ settings - Display is clear and readable in a variety of conditions - Navigating folders in MP3 sources (USB & SD) is easy - Shuffle mode with MP3 sources shuffles within the current folder (I like this, personal preference) - One-press mute (pressing the volume knob) that also
Cons: - EQ options are limited (only one user preset per input source, and built-in presets are poor and not editable) - Aspect ratio control for DVD hasn't worked for me - A little slow to boot up on start (but responsive in use) - Limited file navigation with MP3 sources (just one long alphabetical list of files to scroll through, no sorting or searching) - Light colors not changeable and limited selection of wallpapers (which only show on the main menu screen)

I used all the Crutchfield recommended items, down to the posi-products connectors. I noticed what looked like a large air bubble behind the protective screen. Or so I thought. I peeled the protective screen off and discovered it was behind the plastic screen. I called Crutchfield and sent them a picture. One day later, the unit quit working. Disappointing
Dan from Morgantown on 10/19/2020
2006 Toyota 4Runner
This is the 2nd stereo that I have purchased from Crutchfield and I was very happy with the first purchase. The problems started early with the trim bracket (Metra 95-8202) holes not lining up with the holes on the Boss stereo. I contacted support and was told to Dremmel the brackets to make them fit which I did so I began to install the unit according to the directions. Everything went ok until I tried to power the unit up and got nothing. I contacted tech support and after some troubleshooting it was determined that the pre-wiring harness I bought had a bad crimp on the red power wire (don't they test these?) I have the correct connectors on hand so I offered to fix the harness which I did. The stereo now powered on but one half of the screen was distorted and blurry. A reset did no good so it was determined that the unit was defective and an RMA was initiated. I asked if a new wiring harness would be included and was told "No, because you already agreed to repair yours". Wow. I figured I would maybe get offered a discount on a future purchase or expedited shipping on the replacement but nope, Crutchfield messed up and I have to pay the price. I'm really disappointed after my first purchase went so well but I will not make the same mistake again. So now I get to tear the dash apart again in a few days and hopefully install a working stereo in my car. Very disappointed.
Pros: Price
Cons: QA & support from Crutchfield not good

Just installed in 2002 Celica GT, so cannot comment on long-term use of this unit. Looks sharp, nice clean install in this car with the recommended Metra wiring and the trim side panel add-ons. Power seems decent. Relatively intuitive navigation on the touch screen. Touch screen a little finicky, but this is a lot of head unit for so little money. Do currently have a front left speaker issue, so I don't know if that's related to this unit yet. It's likely the car. It's a very good looking unit when properly installed, and a great starter unit for a 16 year old's sound system upgrade. Bluetooth works as it should. Phone functionality seems to be good also, no problems with the other end hearing me speak with the built-in microphone. I've had good luck with BOSS products in the past with my kid's cars, and hoping this one stands the test of time also.

2009 Cadillac SRX
I bought this unit in late 2019 for my 2009 Cadillac SRX, and have been using it daily since. Last week the radio would not power on anymore, I checked car fuses, ground wires, power, etc, all to no avail... finally I dismantled my dashboard and pulled the fuse from the back of the unit and placed the fuse back in, the unit powered on without hesitation... pretty weird. But other than this one issue, it's been great so far. In no way is this review negative towards Crutchfield. They have been an amazing company to do business with and hope they never change that. I would definitely do business again and recommend them to anyone
Pros: Good sound quality for the price point (seems to have gone up since I purchased) Decent video quality for the rear-view camera Impressive amount of media options (MicroSD, CD/DVD, FM, Bluetooth etc) Installation was easy
Cons: Volume auto adjusts down when car is in reverse with no way to disable that feature. While in reverse you lose all control over volume or muting The SD card "random/shuffle" playlist/song function seems to disable itself after turning the car off or powering down the radio. Easy to lose the stylus (which I did within the first 2 days lol) Clunky User Interface/Touch Screen

2006 Kia Sedona
Installed in my Kia Sedona van. Worked great, bluetooth hands-free was nice, the backup camera view was nice to have. Then one day, just stopped working. I haven't pulled it back out to troubleshoot it, because I'm too irritated it doesn't work, and it's too hot outside to be messing around with a stereo currently (imo). Super unhappy with this unit, will probably be replacing it completely, even if I can get warranty coverage on it, or bother to. I have learned BOSS units apparently just suck.
Pros: Worked great, until it didn't
Cons: Just stopped working. Camera was fritzy, (scanlines, flicker) don't know if that was the camera or head unit's issue, suspect head-unit since it is now randomly dead.

Good aftermarket stereo. It was easy to install and the wiring harness that came with it worked perfect. It's kinda slow to react sometimes and the bluetooth cuts out every once in a while for half a second. That's why I gave it 4/5 stars. For the price I'm not complaining and the sound adjustment works wonders. I recommend not using the presets. Use the user preset and adjust the sound for your vehicle to your liking.
Pros: Easy Install, good sound, adjustable sound, easy to use.
Cons: Bluetooth could be better and the touchscreen isn't as good as your 1000 dollar phone.

Chris from Montgomery, AL on 7/8/2020
2009 Chevrolet Cobalt
Really great product. I purchased from crutchfield before, and that product would go out once a month. Wouldn't blow a fuse, just had to unplug and replug the thing. So I bought this one to avoid having to do that. It didn't come with the optional premade harness for me so I was a bit worried about it. But I will tell you this! I will order from crutchfield before going shopping because the wires that came on the radio were the EXACT same ones that were on the harness I bought with my old radio from them. So I didn't even have to think about it. They all lined up with the schematic they sent, all I had to do was work one wire... the park brake wire. What a great day and easy install. It also has lots of options for amps and things... I was really impressed for the price.
Pros: Touch screen is great. Syncs up perfectly.
Cons: Every now and then the Bluetooth skips like an old record sound when you play music. It's not bad and expected from Bluetooth stuff for me, but it doesn't interfere with how great this thing is.

It's a $130 touch screen cd/dvd head unit. The screens are black, white, and blue. Don't look for any more color than that.( except when playing dvds). USB will only charge iPhone. Blue tooth seems to work so far however every once and a while it will "skip" like a cd. Screen is responsive. Don't look for album art . Tuner function seems loud, Bluetooth function sounds muffled. I played around with the eq to make it ok. For $130 it gets the job done. I will replace with pioneer, Sony, or Kenwood eventually. P.s. it fits snuggly in a 2002 trailblazer.
Pros: Cheap. Responsive screen. It works. It fits in a 2002 trailblazer
Cons: Cheap. Sound quality is lacking. No bells and whistles I don't think it's very powerful.

07 Hyundai Azera with optional Infiniti stereo system
Nam from Queens, NY on 6/20/2020
I thought I knew better and my first attempt was using the RCA outputs on the back of the stereo to the amp, not using the Scoche SLC4 line leveler that came with the kit. Big mistake. Got horrible whine from the system. Tried different cables, tried separating the lines. No dice. Then I remembered the Scoche unit that came with the kit. 2nd attempt: Used the Scoche but used the RCA jacks on the Scoche. Less whine, but still not acceptable. 3rd attempt: Wired it up like they wanted me to (Take the time to tune the Scoche, read the Schoche instruction, follow the instructions). Perfect results. The Boss BV755B sounds better than the stock Infiniti-branded stereo and it has miles more functionality. Crutchfield knows what it is doing. It's why I continue to give them my business over 2 decades.
Pros: 1. Very reasonably priced. 2. Sounds great! 3. Lots of functionality. MicroSD, USB, Line-in, Bluetooth.
Cons: 1. No options for the steering wheel stereo controls 2. Could have come with better instructions for beginners who need their hand held. 3. The receiver adapter was a bit flimy, worried that I would break it, but it all installed perfectly.

Great for cost, mounting hardware might not work.
Chris from Kelso on 5/17/2020
Unit is good for price. Mounting brackets required heavy modification to fit in 2004 xterra. Had to dremel off bottom 1/4 and drill new slots to push unit down enough to fit decent. Camera works good, had few feet leftover of RCA when routing cable through interior of vehicle. They must have changed software from older models because tuner screen is just b&w with no wallpaper, not colored with background like the pictures Crutchfield uses. Also has more wallpaper selections than the one modeled on this site. Sound quality is much better than the 10 year old Kenwood I just pulled. Bluetooth pairing is seamless and much faster than my $400 Pioneer h/u. Wiring harness Crutchfield included made wiring fast and painless. Didnt need the trim fascia they included however. 3 stars for great quality of unit, free wire harness, fast shipping. Took 1 star off due to the heavy modification and hassle it was to custom make mounting brackets (took me hour and half of repetitive install and uninstall to alter brackets so it would fit) and took another star off because the software has changed from the photos Crutchfield is using to advertise the product and I feel they should update the model photos. Will still use Crutchfield for all my stereo needs as I have for last 15 years.
Pros: Great quality for cost. Camera works great. Wiring was fast thanks to complimentary harness. Easy to use and EQ works great. Fast bluetooth pairing. Make and answer calls easily.
Cons: Mounting brackets included required heavy cutting and dremelling for unit to fit properly. Pictures of unit on website dont 100% reflect product received. Seems that Boss is using newer software in unit.

Five months of solid operation, then dead
Luka from Carmichael, CA on 5/6/2020
Pretty good budget double-din stereo. I've had this in my car for three months so far with no problems at all. The reverse camera doesn't produce the highest quality image but it's hard to beat for 20 dollars more. I haven't used the radio with it, but the USB, bluetooth, auxiliary, and micro SD media playback is solid. Sometimes it starts playing a song at a fraction of a second in, but if that's not an issue, then by all means pick up this stereo. If you're looking for a double-din stereo on a budget, I highly recommend this one. Also, for anyone out there who still has their old Geo Prizm sedan, YES, this WILL fit, despite Crutchfield saying it will not. I have a 1996 Geo Prizm, as pictured, and the unit fit perfectly into my upper console, since the factory radios in these old cars were double-dins to begin with. UPDATED 7/8/20: I gave this item a glowing review on May 6th, three months after installing it in my car. It continued to work fantastically until now. I can't edit that review, and the unit is now suddenly dead for no apparent reason, so I'm adding this additional review. It's a shame, as I thought I scored a great deal on a budget double-din stereo that did a good job of what it was meant to do, but I guess you really do get what you pay for. I won't be purchasing Boss again.
Pros: A lot of good features for the money UPDATED 7/8/20: Works great until it doesn't.
Cons: 5-10 second boot up time UPDATED 7/8/20: Dies after five months of light, gentle use.

Great moving from 'old school' buttons to this up-to-date touchscreen interface! Reason why 4 and not 5-Star Rating-- Boss BV755B Unit connection to car wiring instructions were vague, but a call to Support quickly solved the issue. Installation wound up being super-easy because I opted for the Crutchfield ReadyHarnessT Service. This Boss BV755B covers all bases... Plays CD, DVD, SD Card along with Bluetooth, USB, Aux Cord to connect with other devices.

Nice radio!
Crutchfield customer from Lawrence, KS on 4/20/2020

I was skeptical about this radio before ordering it. Usually you get what you pay for. But for this radio for $150 including the back up camera. I have only had it about week. It has a lot of nice options! I like the equalizer too! And I didn't have to pay $300 or more for a radio with all the options this one has.
Pros: Simple to use.
Cons: The brackets for my car that are supposed to go to the sides of the radio didn't fit exactly perfect. The hardware that came with radio didn't work for me. I had to use the original screws that came with my 1998 Toyota Camry.

For the price you can't beat it. The menus are all intuitive and easy to navigate. Set up and pairing were easy-breazy. My complaints: 1. not being able to search my phone's music using the stereo's touch screen. 2. bluetooth connection is a tiny bit spotty. But, again, given the price you have to take the good with the bad.

Programming the settings where simple and easy to set up and I'm a retired senior. Im very grateful you folks put the time in to make a quality product that is easy to work and sounds great. Really makes hooking up my trailers and camper a piece of cake with the backup camera. Thanks again and my friends think it's great as well.

This is a nice unit, for the price. I've had it installed now for 2 weeks and the only issue I have with it is the Bluetooth. It connects fine, but once in a while I get a quick "skip" of the music almost like a record needle hitting a piece of dirt..... it's not anything to be super picky about, but it's the only problem I've had so I figured I put it down.
Pros: Easy install. Nice size screen and nice clarity with the backup camera. Equalizer.
Cons: May have Bluetooth issues.

The radio is great give it 5 stars. In installation kit was the problem. The plastic shims designed to mount on the left and right side of the radion were too wide. I had to use my table top belt sander to grind them down to fit. I also had to remove the plastic shoulder on the left and right side of the opening in order to get the radio in which means the plastic shims do not have a place to snap onto. The good news is the fit is tight enough I don't think it will be a problem. I have no idea why my 2004 Ford F250 radio opening was two narrow. The youtube video shows it fits perfectly.
Pros: great radio
Cons: Very difficult installation

The receiver works great, and I was able to install it in my 08 CR-V without any issues. Even though the Crutchfield site says it's not compatible with steering wheel controls, I was also able to wire in the steering wheel controls using an extra converter box without any issues. The unit functions great and it's really handy to have USB and microSD ports in the front to access my music. The only thing I'd call a negative is the fact that the layout of the screens isn't well thought out. The text and album cover images are really small, and there's a lot of blank area that could have been used to make things larger. When in radio mode, the station number is huge but the artist and title info is tiny and scrolls.

Extremely impressed with this unit!
Crutchfield customer from Draper, UT on 2/14/2020
2005 Toyota Tacoma
The physical controls and interfaces on the left are well designed and placed, making some functions quickly and readily accessible. I love having a physical volume knob (which seems to be a scarce commodity anymore). The buttons on the screen and well sized, making them easy to select even while underway. The screen is highly responsive (no noticeable lag at all) and well designed, making the navigation extremely intuitive. Installation was a breeze because all of the wires are clearly labeled. I got the basic installation kit as part of the purchase, and the brackets and dash frame are a perfect fit. So far everyone that has seen it thinks the setup looks like it's stock from the factory. Sound is crisp and clear. My installation has an amp between this unit and the speakers, but that's not required. Sound will, of course, depend highly on the speakers (and amp where relevant). I also wired a backup camera into this unit. The picture from the camera is sharp. Very impressed. Again, this is partially dependent upon other components (the camera in this case), but the Boss did not disappoint! I have not tried the A/V inputs or the DVD player yet, but I did plug an A/V cable into the unit before installation and ran the other end of the cable down through the center console so I can play videos or a gaming system on the screen at some point. Based on experience to date, I have no doubt it will be impressive.
Pros: Crisp, clear sound Sharp display Easy installation Intuitive, accessible controls Amazing price point
Cons: No HDMI input

Overall I am pleased with my purchase. The touch interface works seamlessly. The audio is crisp and clear giving me greater sound than the stock receiver I had. I would have preferred an external microphone but this does a decent job. I was willing to take a chance on the built in mic being that I drive a 16 Elantra. Do not put this in a truck or larger vehicle as the mic will not do the job. That's why I put a Kenwood in my truck :)
Pros: -Interface works seamlessly -Audio sounds crisp and clear
Cons: Built in mic is good at best and that is with me driving a smaller car. Sounds tinny on both sides of the call.

This is my first Boss product and I was hoping for a hit but have been disappointed. I almost bought another Sony like I did for my Explorer but opted for this one to save some $. Now I wish I would have spent the extra $ for a Sony. I have two main issues with this unit: 1. The bluetooth cuts out a lot and it seems to be increasing with time. I'll be driving along listening to music then all of a sudden, it stops and the bluetooth logo on the display starts flashing. I have to "reset" my I-Phone and start over again to get it to play again. Sometimes on my 40 minute drive to work, I'll have to do this twice! 2. The other main issue is that this unit does not come with an external wired microphone which I thought was surprising. All my previous aftermarket units had it. I think this comes into play when I talk to people on my phone using the bluetooth and they complain they can hear themselves echoing so badly that we cannot continue the conversation so I have to take the call off bluetooth and use the speaker or use it plain like a phone which is illegal here in CA. Very annoying and defeats the whole purpose of bluetooth. Another minor issue is that the speakers seem to cut out randomly for no reason either. Just so many bugs with this unit. I would urge others to buy something else. I recommend sticking with better name brands even if it's a little more $ because you won't have to deal with the headaches I am dealing with now.
Pros:
Cons: Finicky Bluetooth

Decent budget touchscreen heading with all the basic features you need. Screen is pretty responsive, just requires a firm touch. Audio is definitely better than stock was. Bluetooth works great, haven't tried aux or USB. Built in mic is VERY POOR, if this is a big factor to you pick a different head unit with an external mic. Didn't connect parking break wire or reverse wire because I wasn't using functions that require it and all the functions I use work perfectly.
Pros: Cheap Bluetooth Dvd and backup cam (if you use it) Touchscreen Looks good Sounds good
Cons: Mic quality is poor Volume knob not that responsive Only 3 background options but they still look ok

Close to perfect for the price

2005 Subaru Impreza RS
The unit is remarkably nice and well-equipped - possibly more so than the Kenwood I purchased a few years ago for another vehicle. The installation in my car was also quite painless, though partly because the car had a double DIN opening and the bracket from the original radio fit this one perfectly. My only real complaint is that BOSS tech support was unwilling to share any information about their steering wheel remote interface, but for this price I'll just live without that feature... and depending upon your vehicle, this may not be a factor. All things considered, if this radio offers the features you need, you'll be very happy with it in terms of sounds quality, control and menu organization, and ease of install. So go ahead and click on Add to Cart - you know you want to!
Pros: Price/performance, menu organization, real volume control knob (instead of buttons), micro-SD card slot on front, hidden behind a door.
Cons: Manufacturer unwilling to provide information about Steering Wheel Control interface: "We recommend only this one controller, and if it doesn't suit your needs, tough luck."

I have had this receiver for over 3 months now and have definitely enjoyed it since installation. It's been a big improvement due to it's many cool capabilities such as connecting bluetooth vs using an aux cord, providing car speakers with greater power than the stock receiver, EQ settings to allow for perfect tuning of your music, having a built-in microphone to capture your voice during phone calls instead of installing & wiring an external microphone which you would have to do for cheaper receivers, and last but not least the touchscreen is just flat-out dope. The screen was definitely just a tad smaller than I was imagining when I first saw it, and the screen has a mediocre display that is not super exciting/captivating and is more simple & basic than I wanted. The cool thing about purchasing & installing an aftermarket receiver is that it will provide more power to the speakers connected to it. So if you have this stereo, I would recommend considering getting some new speakers because they will work even better than they would've with your stock stereo.
Pros: It has so many cool features that will definitely improve the musical experience in your car
Cons: The display is much less exciting and much more basic than I thought it would be

1995 Volvo 850 GLT
For 1993-1996 Volvo 850 GLT sedans, this product does fit. No need for the trim ring. Complete grinding off of the original radio "slide rails" is NOT needed....just 1/8" sanding. The Volvo original radio will still fit in if need be. The only modification needed is a 4" long plastic "L" bracket glued to the bottom of the original double Din box.....to keep the new Boss stereo from sliding too deep into the pocket....that's it! The metal side brackets should be turned upside down so that the small sides are under the stereo to adjust height.....then the entire unit just slides into place.
Pros: Everything functions well. The price is right for someone looking for a good replacement for an older vehicle. who really needs the steering wheel controls? This plays all the media components you would need..... has option for amp and back-up camera. Super simple install, with plenty of power. All wires are labeled with tags. Use the optional wiring harness adapter.
Cons: None that I can find.

For the price point, it's pretty nice. I wish it had an option to disable play on connect (it autoconnects to my phone and starts playing the last song I listened to when I get in the car) and it'd be nice to be able to change the wallpaper to a custom wallpaper. Also, my wife says I sound "garbled" using the in-deck mic for phone calls too. Just nit-picky things. All-in-all if you need a budget friendly BT touchscreen, it does the job well.

Purchased this unit because the volume knob on stock receiver had gone bad. I wasn't looking for anything too fancy as it was going to be installed in a work van (Ford E150). I had two features I was looking for. Fit and hands free calling. Well, in the end I got one out of two. In my application the internal mic is useless. I have to turn the volume up pretty far to hear the call. This causes person on the other end to hear mostly echo. The only time I can make or receive a call that isn't annoying for both parties is if I am parked. Not very good for business. I will be looking into adding and external mic but somehow don't think it's going to get any better.
Pros: More power than stock Sounds good Looks great
Cons: Internal microphone is useless in my application Unable to make clear hands free calls

Great entry-level touchscreen, great sound
Crutchfield customer from Sunman, IN on 8/14/2019
2007 Nissan Pathfinder
Great price for a entry-level touchscreen. Set your touchscreen expectations low, however, because this is not like a smartphone touchscreen which uses capacitive touch. The Boss BV755B uses resistive touch, meaning the reaction to touch is more like clicking than swiping. Try using your fingernail to click screen objects and you'll see what I mean. But for me, I wasn't so concerned about the touch as the appearance. It seems all the Pioneer, JVC, and other head units are plastic-y and garish, making a humble vehicle dashboard look cheesy with glowing lights and stuff. This BV755B is clean and modest and does not detract from original vehicle head unit appearance. Plus the weird thing is Nissan angles the radio at almost 45 degrees in my Pathfinder causing bright sunlight to drown out any display. This full screen display does much better in this situation than cheaper digital displays, so I'm happy about that. Sound is much better than original stereo and I'm using the original Nissan speakers. Mostly I use this for bluetooth streaming from my Android to the stereo and it works great. I haven't connected the rear-camera so can't comment on that.

I have to agree with most all the other reviews. This is not high end but far better function, options and sound than the OE unit. I did puchase the additional wire harness for ease of install and it did not disappoint. Most anyone can follow it and just need crimpers and butt connectors. No stripping or soldering. For my Impala, the fit was a bit snug at the rear of unit. Had to massage it into place and make sure antenna and wire harnesses were pushed to the glove box side where there is ample space for them. Did have to remove something on the face as others have stated to allow for dash panel. Door chime sound is very clear thru dash as you use the one with wire kit instead of thru factory unit. Highly recommend. The only issue I am having (as I just contacted support for help) is receiver does not shut off with key out of ignition and opening driver door like the factory unit did. So have to manually shut off each time before getting out, or your battery will suffer. For the money, very happy. Blue tooth calling is convenient with the new laws but not very high end quality but functions well enough. Touch screen is nice. Havent used faceplate input options yet, but nice to have.
Pros: Very simple OS, install with optional harness simple, on par with product description, sounds better than OE unit
Cons: For what I knew I was purchasing (not high-end), I can think of none other than this annoying problem with it not shutting off with key out and opening driver door like OE unit did

Very poor quality

Although the interface and controls are very easy to use, this receiver is poorly made. The sound quality was horrible and definitely not recommended. It produced a lot of distortion and my recommendation would be to spend the extra $$ for a better brand like Pioneer or Kenwood. I originally thought the problem was the factory speakers which I replaced, but it wasn't that. Next fix attempt was to re-crimp and redo all wire connections but sound quality was still bad. All modes of play (fm radio, cd, bluetooth) all produced the same poor results. I ended up returning this receiver for a pioneer receiver which works great so far.
Pros: Cheap price and multiple play features.
Cons: Sound quality is horrible.

Recently installed this unit in my wife's SUV. I'm a bit more old-school and was a little reluctant to install a touch screen radio in place of the original unit. Well, after reading the reviews I ordered this Boss unit, and I couldn't be happier. The sound is outstanding, the install was easy, and the customer service from Crutchfield was the best. I've been ordering from Crutchfield for over 25 years, and will continue to do so in the future.
Pros: Great looking unit Easy to operate Installation gear worker perfect

Very clean and nice looking stereo. The bluetooth connectivity is great. I have a roof mounted DVD player hooked up to it and it works well. Capable of a rear view camera but have not hooked it up yet. Overall a very nice stereo for the price.
Pros: Clear screen, Bluetooth calling
Cons: Only stock BOSS backgrounds

Installation was easy, however the tuner is not the best, and the USB port does not recognize my iPhone for media, just for charging. So it really renders that port useless. The EQ is really nice, and for the price, it was an overall good buy. Just wish the USB would work for the newer iOS
Pros: -good EQ -easy to install with crutchfield kit -looks good

I basically like this stereo with a few exceptions. The screen flashes and the stereo thumps one time about 1 minute after I turn it on then it's fine. Every once and a while the sound cuts out and I have to turn it off and back on to get the sound back then again thump. It makes my wife jump every time. Otherwise I like everything else.
Pros: Overall pretty good.
Cons: Just the two items I mentioned in the review.

Pros: Looks great. Easy installation. Way better then a stock
Cons: Will need a wheel control adapter

2003 Toyota Camry Solara
My rating is as much about the service and support from Crutchfield as the Boss BV755B. Aside from the fact that it was cheaper (due to included cables) no other retailer provides immediate phone support. One big box electronics seller offered "free installation", their position was that the BV755B could not be installed in my 03 Solara! That gives you insight into their technical capability. On line sellers offer no support short of returning the item. I took advantage of Crutchfield's customer support before selecting a unit and received realistic advice. My car had/has JBL w/amp and I received pros and cons on bypassing the amp or not. I selected "not" and the system will assault yours with a vol level of 3. As to the BV755B itself, I am still learning the features. The BT is better than my 2014 Camry XLE from a stand point of microphone and voice quality and syncs seamlessly. The radio station sensitivity is much better than the JBL and sound quality much better. I thought the speakers were poor but it was the radio. I added a backup camera (not from Crutchfield) and it works fine with a bright, clear image on the head unit. FYI, the camera RCA cable did not have a "trigger wire" so I have not connected the "reverse" yet but it is no big deal to select the "camera" icon to operate. I soldered all connections as the wires seem too small for even small crimp connectors. During the wiring I contacted Tech team and got instant help and answers.
Pros: Good equipment quality and an operation manual that is understandable with few English language errors. Great support (USA) and 3 year warranty. Bought before the import Tariffs jack the price up. Again, the Tech support is invaluable. No need to fear attempting the installation. The instructions and diagrams provided by Crutchfield (not BOSS) are exactly for your car and model with illustrations that rival a factory manual down to the location and nunber of fasteners, clips, e

Excellent product and the best customer service

2002 Toyota Tacoma
This stereo system is exactly what I needed. I have an 02 Tacoma with a factory tape deck/CD player. I use my phone for Spotify, Pandora, podcasts, etc when driving. I selected this stereo because it also plays DVDs which is useful for keeping my young kids entertained. I paid the $24 for them to wire the harness which was well worth it, would not hesitate to pay it again. The instructions were very clear and I was able to remove the old stereo and install the new one in an hour. Customer service was incredible, top notch and very professional. I am definitely going to order one for our Tahoe to upgrade our system to allow for Bluetooth phone use and DVD as well.
Pros: DVD works great, works perfectly with factory stereo, automatically connects Bluetooth every time after initial setup.
Cons: None

Really nice radio, great sound. The only downside I have so far is when I want to switch radio stations I hit the wrong button and end up someplace else. Also this radio is NOT a perfect fit for my Toyota Tundra and did not come with a filler trim. Not that a filler trim would even fit because the space open on the sides is small and barely noticeable. Over all its a great deal, I would recommend it. Customer service/trouble shooting was excellent, they solved my problem in less then 2 minutes and I was on my way. Maybe someday I will get around to reading the operation manual that came with it, that might help me enjoy it that much more.
Pros: Great sound and easy setup, Bluetooth to my phone didn't require running a microphone up through the dash to my sun visor.
Cons: No face plate/filler trim

The receiver itself is actually pretty good. It I've a you everything you need to create a complete stereo setup in one simple package. Bluetooth touch screen with additional steering wheel controls (adapter needed) , 8 bands for balancing music preferences and 6 preouts for front rear and sub. The problem is boss isn't a new brand but still suffer from reliability isssues. After several troubleshooting steps I found that my rear channel rca outputs just weren't working. Not the biggest issue but very annoying after going through all the steps to solve the issue. But interface and full features make this a good receiver just double check everything before you finish your install. And yes it plays dvds also.
Pros: Nice interface and good overall accessibility and feature set.
Cons: Not reliable

This is a great product. I installed it in my daughter's vehicle, and she loves it. For the price you get a system that pretty much has everything except a GPS system. DVD. back up camera capability. very nice. Provides a high-end system for a small price. Also, Crutchfield has been amazing to work with. They have always pointed me in the right direction. Every time I have been stumped, I call and they give me the information I need. They have even sent me pictures before showing me where to make a connection. I only purchase my systems from Crutchfield. It is not worth purchasing from anyone else.
Pros: Clean looking system Great price for what you get Great touch screen
Cons: No GPS - but not looking for one with GPS

Good performer, great value for the price
Crutchfield customer from Bend, OR on 4/3/2019
Overall the BV755B works well and is easy to use. The touch screen and volume knob are highly responsive. I'm using it as the coach radio in a motorhome, so it's acting as the radio, DVD player, and power amp for other devices. Rear audio inputs were a must, and I prefer a real knob for volume control. The radio and DVD player work well. The radio has an undocumented BSM feature that does a good job. The user interface for music on a USB stick or micro SD card allows browsing through the directory structure. The only actual flaw I found was that if using the BV755B for video pass-through (video into the rear A/V input then viewed on an external monitor), the external monitor image is scaled incorrectly. I won't use it this way and doubt hardly anybody else will, either. I wish the settings would allow removal of unused input source icons. I didn't find any models that do this. Control and display colors aren't selectable, need to spend more $ for this. The included mounting brackets were very useful in my application. I don't use and am not reviewing bluetooth, streaming, preamp outputs, and SWC.
Pros: Real knob for volume control. Remote has real buttons instead of the dumb bubbles found on most car remotes. Audio level adjustable for each individual input source.
Cons: Can't change control and display colors.

Just installed this today and was surprised by how easy it was overall. From not having any background in radio installations from start to finish it took a little over an hour. Crutchfield made the entire experience go as smooth as possible since I ordered it pre-wired it took the stress out of it by not having to worry about which wire goes where. The kit I bought made the installation seamless and it looks perfect in my car.
