Features

Dynamic Balance: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least amount of resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion.

5x7/6x8 Speaker: This speaker can be used in both 5x7 and 6x8 applications. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.

Marine Certification: Polk speakers are marine certified, making them a good choice for boats in fresh water, convertibles, motorcycles, ATVs, and other applications where the speaker might get wet. Because they have coated steel baskets and the terminals and crossover components are not covered, we do not recommend using them in salt water environments.

Q

A
Its been a while, but I don't recall installing a cover, I just used the car panels, so I don't remember getting grill covers.
[ Franklin  Jan 28, 2018 ]
A
Yes, they come with a grill/cover.
[ Richard  Jan 25, 2018 ]
A
To the best of my recollection, they did not come with a grill.

Q
will 45 watt rms sound good with these speakers?
[ stephen  Dec 18, 2017 ]

A
Forty-five watts(head unit + head unit power pack) is what have powering four of these in an SUV and it does the job well. It goes louder than I should play it while still sounding good. Even more power will most likely make the system sound even better but I was installing it myself and liked the plug and play of the power pack vs big amp and running wires.
[ Stephen  Dec 18, 2017 ]
A
Yes !

Q
More bass than your stock speakers? I have bought and returned 2 different pairs of 6 by 8 speakers because they didn't produce bass better than my stock 2003 taurus wagon speakers. I want to avoid having to do that again.

I doubt it. These do not seem especially bass-y to me, but then again I don't have an amp, and without some power it is difficult to say what the speakers could do.
[ Richard  Dec 21, 2017 ]
A
PS -If you do option 1) you need passive sub and enclosure, unless you buy a packaged deal. If you do option 2) or 3), you don't need a dual voice coil sub as amplifiers typically have summing networks built in. Option 2 is best for your buck in my mind. Good luck!

A
Well yes and no. The mounting bracket supplied by Ford in my particular situation was/is poorly designed as it lets air 'around' the rear of the speaker interfere with front and vice versa. Also the factory speakers have no highs, and the absence of highs could be mistaken for bass. I wasn't happy with the bass from any speaker so I added an 8" powered Bazooka, and hi passed the 5x7's with the Pioneer deck active crossover at 100 hertz. I really could not tell any difference in the bass response below 80-90. In other words the didn't have usable bass below that freq. hope that helps and not too confusing!

I enjoy my Polk Audio speakers. I'm never disappointed.

I replaced the factory Bose speakers with Infinitys - which went bad after 2 years - i then switched to the Polks and have been very pleased good highs and nice bass - I even disconnected the factory Bose "subwoofer " if you can call it that

Q
I own a 2013 Ford Edge Sport with Sony factory audio with the factory speakers for now. Will the factory radio supply enough power to run these?
[ Gary  Dec 26, 2016 ]
1 answer
A
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.
