Crutchfield: Polk MagniFi Mini compact sound bar
Crutchfield demo: Casting music with Google Home
From Polk: Learn More About the MagniFi Mini Home Theater Sound Bar System
The compact MagniFi Mini system brings spacious sound and clear dialogue to smaller rooms, like a bedroom.
There's one TV in my house that I almost never watch. The picture looks fine, but the sound from its tiny built-in speakers is just pathetic. I've been looking to upgrade with a compact sound bar system, and Polk Audio's MagniFi Mini is a strong contender.
When Polk stopped by recently they demoed their new Signature series speakers and the MagniFi Mini system. They played the 5.1 speaker setup first, and I think we were all expecting a big letdown when they switched to the MagniFi sound bar and sub, but that didn't happen. The MagniFi duo sounded ridiculously big and full for a system of this size and price.
The biggest problem with most TV speakers is distorted, hard-to-hear dialogue. The MagniFi Mini sound bar tackles this issue with Polk's patent-pending VoiceAdjust™ technology. VoiceAdjust lifts the sound of speech so that it's easy to make out, regardless of what you're watching — or how loud. Even soft-spoken dialogue comes through crystal-clear whether you're sitting directly in front of the TV or off to the side. There's even a separate volume control just for voice.
Hooking up the MagniFi Mini is quick and easy. It connects to your TV with just a single audio cable. Using the included HDMI or optical digital cables lets you take advantage of the bar's built-in Dolby® Digital decoding. You can also choose between three listening modes — Movies, Music, and Sports — to help tailor the sound to what you're watching.
Speaking of connections, the MagniFi Mini also has built-in Bluetooth® and Google Cast (now called Chromecast built-in). You can wirelessly play tunes from your smartphone or tablet through the sound bar's powerful drivers.
Polk included a sub with a 6-1/2" woofer to deliver satisfying bass for high-energy action scenes and music. It connects to the sound bar wirelessly, which makes it super easy to place in your room — you just need to plug it into a wall outlet for power.
The MagniFi Mini is also compatible with Roon, a subscription digital music player you download to your smartphone, tablet, or computer. It gives you multi-room audio playback for all your Chromecast-compatible devices and more. Roon accesses your digital music collection from your iTunes library or NAS drive. It also works with your TIDAL subscription. Roon lets you do deep dives into your music, showing artist bios, photos, reviews, and lyrics. Roon can also suggest other artists and songs based on your selections, making it easy to discover new music you'll enjoy.
It works as expected.

Average Customer Review(s):
Easy to install & connect with my cable box.
Great sound at a great price! Fills the main room with crisp clear music or dialogue. The size is perfect for my needs.
The sound from the MagniFi Mini is amazing. As soon as the first sounds came out I realized I'd been living a sheltered life with bad tv speakers.
Exactly what I needed to enhance the sound from my 55" curved LG OLED. The small footprint is great but with my TV it needs to be on a lower shelf or it blocks the picture. My husband, who thought I was nuts to get a sound bar, now loves it. It really does enhance the sound of voices for "senior hearing." I love the night mode.
Pros: Small size, great sound, easy to install.
Everything needed to hook up the system came with it. Easy to install. Great sound.
This thing sounds amazing although I did expect it to sound good. What really caught me off guard was how loud it gets it will fill your entire house with clean quality sound. My only downside is the Chromecast feature I don't know if mine is defective or not but it is hooked up bia HDMI arc and will only stream music directly to the Chromecast no YouTube, Netflix, or Amazon prime video. Aside from that it is a performer and I would highley recommend it.
It works as expected.
Pros: Easy to use
powerful sound for its size
The Polk mini delivers a great deal of sound for its size. The sound quality is far richer than what you get from the tv. The sub, however, doesn't really add much to the experience and don't expect a true surround sound effect.
Pros: Rich tone Small footprint Big improvement over tv speakers
Cons: Sub is puny.
Small enough to place in the tv cabinet to conceal and powerful enough to give great sound for sports, movies and music! Sub woofer easily fits behind a sofa, again out of sight but good bass response! And you can't beat the price! Very happy with this purchase!
This sound bar is well worth the price and performs much better than expected. It also does more than I anticipated.
Pros: Excellent sound and very adaptive
Sounds great, but after 2 months my sound bar died. They sent me a replacement, it worked great for 8 months then It died also.
Pros: Sounds great
Cons: Quality Control
I love this soundbar. I did a lot of homework and research and found the soundbar that fits what I want.
Pros: small hefty quality sound
Cons: none yet
I use to be into BIG Theater Sound in my home but not so much anymore. While waiting on my new Amish furniture to come in I did a lot or research. I needed a front speaker with a little footprint and a sub I could hide easily. Well after several week I decided to pull the trigger and buy the Polk system. Super easy to set up, my cup of coffee was still hot when I sat back down to listen. The sound is a big upgrade over the TV's speakers and is all I wanted or was expecting. Remember price paid and size of system, that being said this is Bad To The Bone. If your looking for theater sound keep looking. I love it !
Pros: Small footprint, inexpensive.
Was expecting a deeper sound.
great sounding system , we now have two
Product arrived within the stated time, was super easy to install and the sound was amazing. We were very skeptical due to poor hearing, but the product more than lived up to our expectations. Makes watching TV more of a pleasure than a headache. Since we have it less than a week, we have no negative comments and expect to have none.
I purchased this sound system for my husband for his birthday. He loves it! We have a small living room and this is just made for it. The night mode is great. Now we can play the music channels and have the best sound.
Great sound for small speaker. Hooked to hdmi (arc) for the best sound. Sub has good punch for a small light weight woofer.
Pros: Small, dose not take up a lot of space
Cons: Turns on when I turn on tv. Like to just turn on tv without the Polk system.
I purchased the system and after receiving and hook up the sub woofer makes a popping noise. After contacting the company I was told it was interference from my router! So, that's easy to figure out. I unplugged my router and the popping continued. So, I was told they would replace the subwoofer. I was told I would get a replacement along with the mailing label. Well, I did get a replacement, but no mailing label to return old sub!! I called Polk but no matter what button on the phone I hit I could not get through. It took several hours before finally getting to talk to some one. They told me they would email the label so I could return it. She said within 24hrs. It's now been over 24 hrs but nothing. My son purchased one just like the one I got, he's the reason I purchased one..His sounded great.

I have really enjoyed the Polk system. Made my new TV much more enjoyable. I have a very small space for the speaker. This mini has the sound of a big system. The set-up was easy and the remote from the TV controls the volume.
Pros: small size big sound, easy set up
I can't believe what a big sound out of such a little sound bar. If you're looking for a smaller than average sound bar like I was, this is a great option. If you have the room, you can definitely find a similar sound for less money.
The min sound bar is ideal for my set-up as I live in a small apartment and don't need high powered sound bar. The audio and sound effects are perfect for my needs. I was not to happy with the agent at Polk Audio when I needed technical support. My issue was that when I turn the sound bar off it comes back on after a moment when it detects activity from my TV. He asked when I would want to turn the sound bar off. I have my reasons which should not concern him. He did not seem customer oriented and left me with a less than favorable impression of Polk Audio as a company, although their products are great. The remote is a bit flimsy. When pushing a function button the back seems to squeeze in. Also you now need to have two remotes when watching TV (the TV remote and the Polk remote). I resolved that by using a Logitech programmable remote.
Pros: It meets my needs and is is in a location that does not conflict with my using TV/Xfinity remote functions.
Cons: When TV is on you must use sound bar. You cannot turn it off and it stay off.
My goal was to have a sound bar with a great surround sound with the ability to increase the dialogue above the sound effects. The Polk Audio was highly recommended by the Crutchfield associate. I have a 24 by 16 living room so I was concerned it would sound hollow. The Polk actually can fill the room with base and mid tones and if I want to increase dialogue I can and it works!. Also kinda cool that when a commercial comes on the sound automatically goes way down so I'm not blasted by advertising. Also a neat feature is the night mode, which mutes all the sounds except for dialogue if you have old people who go to bed early and you need to keep volume low, like me. Overall a great bar but sometimes I do miss a rear speaker for intense movies sounds. Would be great for apartments too.
Pros: Dialogue, Remote, overall agreeable sound
Cons: Not quite as robust as a five speaker system would be
Love this sound bar. Small footprint on the center console. But, puts out some big sound. Great solution for our liking especially during movies. Easy install as well. Can't go wrong with a little Polk!!
Pros: Small but big sound. Right price too.
Good sound from such a small package, but the simulated surround sound isn't there. I learned the hard way that my 4 year old Samsung TV only sends a Dolby Digital signal out if it's receiving encoded material from streaming programming, or an app, not a DVD. Without a Dolby signal, you have no surround sound, simulated or otherwise. Polk should explain that. I read the owners manual in its entirety before purchasing. But the soundbar itself, sans the surround sound effect, is excellent.
Pros: Size, appearance, sound, remote.
Cons: Lack of full disclosure regarding function.
Pretty disappointed, especially for the price. The remote is squishy and there is no onscreen or easy to use on unit indication that it is receiving the signal. Lots of flashing lights that don't always seem to translate into whether the volume is going up or down. Here's an idea -- how about a display that has a number? It seems to take a crazy long time between turning the thing on and sound coming out. I find I have to plug and unplug the power in order to get it to work. I can't really tell if the subwoofer is doing much of anything and it's huge and really ugly. It looks like a giant computer speaker from 1998. If it didn't come in a box the size of a car, I'd probably return it and start fresh. Will not be buying a Polk product for a long time.
Pros: Small size.
Cons: Lousy remote, inconsistent performance. Frustrating, especially for the price.
Very unabtrusive system. I was totally taken by surprise with the sound quality and the volume this system can produce! It's a steal at this price! The soundbar is tiny and heavier than expected. The sub didn't look like it would produce the bass that it does! I would definitely buy again and highly recommend it to any one. It totally fills my living room with beautiful full range sound. I have recently become a big Polk fan!! I am a loyal long time Crutchfield customer. They always provide great service!
Pros: Affordable and more than I expected with mini in the name!
Wonderful little sound bar system for smaller rooms. The "mini" size is perfect if you don't have 3 feet available for a sound bar, but you want more sound from your TV. I installed this in a master bedroom to replace an unsightly BOSE Acoustimass system. The setup is extremely easy and the sound quality/clarity is great. Keep in mind, this is a small system, so it is not going to rattle your furniture or anything like that. Makes video programs come to life with clear dialogue and supplemental (though not loud) bass. Good buy for a smaller room.
Pros: small footprint very few wires showing clearer and louder than any flat screen speakers
Cons: not "huge" sound could use more bass
The sound is great. As good or better than I expected
Pros: Great sound and easy set up
Gracias Crutchfield!
Pros: Gran sonido, fácil para instalar
I really wanted to like the Polk Magnifi Mini but there was a problem with ARC working correctly even after the update. I purchased two units and both had the same problem. The remote will not work with name brand batteries, again both units had the same problem. The sound was also very small and not wide and opened, it reminded me of a Bluetooth speaker with an added subwoofer. One thing that was good was the center and subwoofer blending but again it was not a very powerful sound overall, this would be better suited for a small room. Crutchfield took great care of me and I returned the unites for two Yamaha YAS-207's which overall are a big step up from the Polk Magnifi Mini in every aspect.
I was surprised that sound bar had a lot of base easy to install and a superb sound i do thank for the adviser that he tolld me that o will love it and i do really appreciate him
Pros: Easy to install and a superb sound
Good bang for buck if you are looking for a 2.1 surround system set up or are seeking/needing a small footprint. Either reason, the MagniFi Mini is easy to set up on older or newer TV systems. In our situation, we needed a RCA to 3.5mm connection given older LCD TV outputs (needed cable not supplied by mfgr, but many good cheap options <$5 on Amazon). Was pleasantly surprised to see how small both speakers are. Subwoofer fits easily next to couch and main speaker directly on the TV base stand. I chose Polk vs. other sound bars (i.e. Yamaha) due to small footprint needed given a small media stand and location in house. Other reviewers did note that low frequencies in voices can drown speech clarity; I also experienced this. Unplugging the subwoofer defeats the purpose of having depth in what you hear with this speaker system. While the quick setting functions are a good start, I found that if you take a couple minutes to play with bass and voice volumes, you could hone in on good clear speech and just enough bass so deep voices were not muffled.
Pros: Cost/Value, Simple Solution, Connectivity, Footprint/size, Ease of Use
Cons: Pre-settings to control bass/low voices
I have a small room and the sound is great. Much easier to hear the TV and the sound is great for how small the unit is. Very easy to hook up and there was no problem with getting the sub to sync. The Bluetooth is also easy to use. For the cost I'm very pleased.
I was slightly disappointed at first, as it didn't sound dramatically different than my Echo.until I plugged in the subwoofer. It immediately connected and starting playing. And when I turned it up, it easily filled the 17' x 18' room (with 20' ceilings) it is in. System as a whole sounds very good. It is no match for much more expensive systems, but for the price, I think it is a fantastic deal. My wife loves that it does not take up much space on the mantle. I connected it through the HDMI ARC on my TV and it instantly started playing. Also, it worked with my cable remote right out of the box. I was initially disappointed that the remote had no way to turn on Bluetooth, you have to physically go over to the device and press the button. However, my wife figured out that you just ask Alexa: "Connect to Bluetooth device", and the soundbar automatically powers up. Very cool. There is a constant hum, even when off, but only noticeable when you are right by it.
My Bose system has become antiquated. Still works fine but not compatible with TV and updated Comcast system. I didn't want to spend a lot of money as I did originally. So I came to Crutchfield. I thought if I replaced the receiver all would be fine but it wasn't compatibility became an issue with speakers and woofer. I sought the help of a Crutchfield advisor and what an experience. All positive. Archer recommended the above system. I was looking for a soundbar originally but it would not fit into our cabinet. We ended up with the Magnifi Mini. When I received the product there were two pieces the wireless woofer and the front speakers. There was no problem fitting into the cabinet but, I honestly thought the front speaker system would be inadequate. Well folks, not to worry the system is fantastic and I am happy, My wife has a little problem with hearing and that went away by adjusting voice. The remote is a little clumsy if I mute it sometimes takes a few clicks to shut off the mute. We love the unit it provides a nice crisp sound with the three choices of movie, sports and music. A very satisfied customer of Crutchfield the company and it's people, To say I am happy is an understatement. Thank you so much for your support. Gene Chester NH
Replaced a "surround sound" 6 speaker system with this as we were unable to hear conversation on the programs. Works very well and at a significantly lower price than I paid for the inferior system. Very happy.
Space saving and has multiple connections for connection to wireless/LAN connection. Loud for a small apartment under 1000 sq feet. Sub is odd shaped and weird looking. Speaker attracts dust on top of buttons. Remote is odd as well in terms on button position. Would highly recommend.
Great unit for making dialogue intelligible again. VoiceAdjust really works. I was not able to get optical connection to work, but fortunately my TV had HDMI-ARC output. The only thing I needed to program for my cable remote was the on/off function. The center channel provides nice, balanced sound from its six internal speakers. Bass from the sub fills in lower frequencies missing from most TV speakers, but don't expect the floor-shaking output of a larger unit. The bass can rumble a bit in the background if left at higher volume, but this is easily remedied by turning it down when bass isn't needed. The only quirk with this system I have experienced is a 10-12 second lag when first powered on before sound comes on. There is also a few seconds lag when changing channels. (This could be an issue specific to my cable box.) Overall a big improvement over basic TV speakers.
Pros: Makes TV dialogue intelligible again. Nice balanced sound. Small footprint.
Cons: Bass can rumble in background if left at higher volume. Some delay with sound coming on after power up, and changing channels.
This is the only quality system I could find to fit in a limited space TV stand. Nice sound.
Pros: Good sound, The small size fits in the stand that I built for a 32" Samsung TV Amazing fast shipping
Cons: My son had a little problem setting it up, the remote didn't seem to work. We unplugged the system for a while then plugged in and it has been working since.
5 star sound bar awesome sound, much better then my onkyo base
We were looking for a relatively inexpensive way to improve the speech on our new Samsung TV even though we have 13 foot ceilings in our loft. This sound bar seems to fill the bill. It is small, yet comes with a sub woofer. We can hear speech very clearly now (Dr. Who used to be unintelligible, but now we can understand what Dr. Who is actually saying) and the sub woofer actually makes movies sound like movies. So we are very satisfied, and we didn't have to spend a lot of money.
Pros: Great speech enhancement Sub Woofer makes movies fun
Cons: Two black wires hanging down from TV to sound bar (could Polk make white wires available?).
The Polk Audo MagniFi Mini improved the sound of our TV in our family room so we can actually understand the voice audio much better. We like the fact that the subwoofer can be disabled by unplugging it for some programs that seem to have excessive bass sounds that interfere with normal voice audio. Overall it provides an improved audio for our TV although not as good as our full size Sony sound system, but a great sound for a very reasonable price. Its compact size was perfect for the space we have available.
The sound & size of the this system was terrific for the study that is the size of a bedroom. I wanted to use it with my computer & it has nice bass for a system of it's size. BUT the Remote has a Design FLAW. The remote uses 2 AAA batteries. The remote came with 2 off brand batteries that are a tiny bit shorter than Duracell or Eveready batteries. When you try to use these standard AAA batteries, they fit way too tightly in the compartment. The remote either will not work or only works intermittently. Crutchfield was great & sent me another remote to try but it had the same issue. It seems there is a design flaw in the remotes that come with this system. Unfortunately I had to return the system because I needed to use a remote. The system is definitely worth hearing if you don't need a remote. I did buy a different system from Crutchfield that has a remote that's easy to use. I always buy from Crutchfield when they have the products I need because they have terrific customer service!
Pros: Nice sound & bass for regular bedroom. Great for a smaller space. Bluetooth capability. Worked with my computer. Would recommend if you don't need to use the remote.
Cons: Remote battery compartment design flaw - see review.
My one nephew, who is a sound geek, and has great "ears" recommended the Mini to me. The main reason was because he knew of the size constraints on my TV table. Really glad I took his advice. Unit sounds great and I would recommend Polk to anyone looking for an upgrade.
My dad is turning 80 this year and was having trouble with dialog and ambient noise at sporting events colliding in broadcasts. At this price-point, it does an excellent job at raising the voice frequencies and tuning out background noise in a small package that didn't require moving their existing satellite receiver and DVD boxes to make room.
Pros: Nice price, excellent quality and small footprint.
Cons: I wish I would have found it for him sooner.
Compact with great sound, perfect for the small room for which it was purchased.
Bought MagniFi Mini for small TV in exercise room. Sound from equipment drowned out TV speaker. The Polk makes motivational DVD sound much better at reasonable price
Pros: Easy hook-up, small size, simple to operate.
Cons: None the way I use it. Someone needing a soundbar for a large room, or thundering bass might need more.
My TV cabinet small, so needed a small unit. This unit has worked great. Sound has been great, dialog clear, and base has been good, which was surprising. Set up and syncing was a piece of cake. Recommend highly
I needed something small to bolster the weak sound of my bedroom flat screen in this price range. The MagniFi Mini was recommended by my Crutchfield sales associate. I am totally satisfied with the clarity, size and performance of the unit. The sub was the easiest I've ever setup -- just plug and play. I especially like that it also has Bluetooth whereby I can stream from my phone/tablet. The only glitch I had during setup was with the Polk remote control, but after trying to sync the unit to my Comcast remote, the Polk remote starting working perfectly. Great product, great price and great customer service by Crutchfield!
Pros: Excellent choice for small to medium rooms.
What an incredible difference this little system has made to my television system. I especially like the ability to increase the dialogue volume without an overall volume change. I highly recommend this small but versatile sound bar.
Pros: Incredible boost to overall dynamic range in a unit with a small footprint.
Cons: Could have more control over dialogue volume vs. overall volume, especially for older ears like mine.
helps to make the sound from tv clearer and more enjoyable.as usual crutchfield sent the item fast and proper. the speaker works better with my tv then expected.I have the tv connected with direct tv and when I turn on my equipment pressing on the speaker goes on automaticly with tv and direct without using the speaker remote.I press sound up and tv speaker goes off and polk speaker goes on
Pros: improves all sound from tv
The sound is full, the perfect addition to my new Samsung ultra HD TV. Installation was absolutely painless and worked seamlessly. I did use a heavier optical cable to connect to my CD jukebox. For the price, this is an excellent choice and works well in our family room. I bought from Crutchfield because of potential need for technical support, but so far not even needed.
Pros: Great sound, clear dialogue, seamless installation. Has both HDMI (ARC) and optical cable connections.
Cons: Flimsy digital optical cable.
This little speaker bar is really surprising! Sounds are great, full, and loud for a little speaker. Could not be happier with it.
This sound bar and subwoofer combination has an excellent sound. The subwoofer is minimal, because of the low wattage it has, but this combination has sure made are TV listening experience so much better. I would definitely recommend this sound bar. Not sure why people are commenting about the small remote. The remote is fine!.
Pros: Great sound Subwoofer connected via wifi Easy setup
Cons: None yet
Good sound in an attractive package. Set up and set up instructions left something to be desired.
Connecting it to my television was a breeze. I have it connected to a small tv, in a small room and it sounds great. Couldn't be happier.
For the price and size, excellent bang for the buck!!!!
Pros: Sound of a bigger unit.
We ordered this to improve dialogue audio on our older Samsung DLP TV. The Polk unit sounded better than our TV, but I thought the unit heated up severely even when it was not in use, so we ordered a replacement unit thinking it was defective. Same problem with new one. I tried to contact Polk customer service. Polk has terrible customer service. They never answered their phone line, nor replied to my email. We ended up ordering a different model. Got good help from Crutchfield choosing another model.
Great sound in a great size. Perfect for a bedroom. It took a couple of tries on syncing to other devices, but it eventually worked.
Polk MagniFi Mini- the perfect soundbar/ wireless subwoofer combination for both my family room & bedroom. Sound & price are great! Can hear the dialogue now! Features up-to-date & adaptable for different rooms/TVs. Weeks of searching. My goals were to improve on the sound built-in to TVs, but more, I needed a to hear the dialogue better. My family's angry at me for turning up the TV to hear what is being said. I had assumed that I would need two different solutions but the MagniFi Mini turned out to be the best for both rooms, so I bought two! Family room is 15'x17', high ceiling. 50" Samsung F5500 series wall/tilt mounted. KEY FEATURE: 13" Mini sits on top of 14" Comcast DVR and connects to TV with optical audio cable. Small width is much better than full size soundbars because I can swivel the Mini to point right at my favorite seat. Full size soundbars have a sweet spot centered on the TV so sit a bit to the side & you miss out on the dialogue improvement. Bedroom is 12'x12', 8' ceiling, 40" Hitachi with poor sound standing on tall corner dresser. Mini connects to TV's HDMI (ARC) and sits on front of TV's own built-in stand. Mini's mid-sized sub fits easily in a variety of locations and sounds well balanced. Mini's quality is obvious. Noticeably heavy with 6 speakers/magnets in its small case. Mini's remote works well. Movies, television shows and music channels all sound amazing now. Will test playing music over bluetooth next. Hope this info helps someone. Enjoy!
Pros: Great balanced sound with wireless subwoofer Voice adjust feature makes dialogue much easier to hear Small width allows swivel towards seating area to maximize dialogue benefit. Only 13" wide so it fits in small & large rooms, with small & large TVs Great Price & Great Value at $299, (or less on sale).
Cons: Very thin Polk-supplied optical audio cable causes popping audio Just buy a thicker Toslink to Toslink cable for a small price, nothing fancy needed MagniFi Mini sits on shelf or table only. Can't wall or TV bracket mount it. Not really an issue- there are a lot of small shelves that wall or bracket mount
It's a good sound for a compact unit.
Pros: It produces good sound and clear.
Great sound for such a small package. We use it in our r v. bedroom and can take it outside for great sound with the projection screen.
Pros: Quick to set up. Great sound. Small footprint.
Cons: I wish there we're a way to mount it to a t.v. or wall. Analog rca jacks would be better than the aux Jack as it limits sound quality and volume.
Great for small to medium sized room, very easy to hook up if you use hdmi(arc). Great upgrade for speakers on my Samsung is 8000.
Nice soundbar system that takes up minimal real estate. I connected the HDMI to my HDMI ARC equipped TV and it did not work, I tried all different kinds of settings & still no sound so I went with the trusty Optical cable and it sounds great. Room filling sound effects & excellent voice/dialogue enhancer. There is sometimes a slight delay of decoding the Dolby from the cable box & also inconsistent volumes, so I adjusted the sound settings on the TV to PCM and it seems to have fixed it. The wireless subwoofer is not overwhelming, keeping my wife happy. Overall nice addition to a small living room and something I can use everyday because of the learning remote control feature that allows my cable box remote to work with the soundbar vs. having to power on the home theater which I didn't use as often.
Great sound out of a small package. Easy set up and great upgrade over stock TV speakers.
Fast shipping. Very nice cool yes
Cons: Nice. And small. Fast shipping cool
Best small system on the market love everything about it
I am using this unit in my camper. Was easy to set up and really helped the audio system in the RV. Also like the bluetooth feature. This is perfect for a bedroom, apartment, or smaller space in which you want to improve your sound.
Pros: great product for the price.
Cons: might be underpowered for larger rooms
Had been using computer speakers with the TV. Sad isn't it. Needed an upgrade. Due to location needed something smaller than a full size sound bar. This speaker with its sub-woofer was just what I needed. Connected to TV with the enclosed optical cable. Main speaker sits on the TV base and is unobtrusive. Bass, treble and mid-range are clear and crisp. MagniFi Mini hand controller is nice design and easy to use. Linking MagniFi Mini hand control with the TV controller was simple. System won't shake your house down when the volume is up but for normal listening i.e. speech, music, sports, action movies seems as if this component system is a reasonable investment. Setup instructions are simple and clear. For me this was a very good purchase. Room size 20'x24' with 12' ceiling.
Pros: Size of components, sound quality, controller, instructions, system comes with auxiliary cable, HDMI and optical cables,
Cons: If you plan to use an HDMI cable connection make sure your TV has an HDMI "ARC" slot. I didn't notice that requirement in the Polk or Cruthchfield information. My TV is ten years old and doesn't have an "ARC" HDMI slot. That's why I used the optical cable.
We weren't sure what soundbar to purchase for our bedroom. The Crutchfield team was terrific in suggesting this system. We purchased it primarily to enhance voice that our current tv is missing, but the subwoofer also added bass and made watching a movie in the bedroom much better.
Love this unit. Use in master bedroom and it's perfect for that room, both for TV and for Bluetooth music.
Awesome sound out of a small package. I had a little problem linking the wireless sub woofer to the bar, but once it connected all else was quite easy.
Pros: Small Big sound Easy setup
Just wanted a clear dialogue from this system. It does give you that. So for dialogue, it gets a five star rating. However, you find yourself constantly trying to improve or change the sound. The movie and music buttons do not do anything but tone down the sports button. So to be honest, we like the dialogue and are happy with that, but for the price, it's not worth it as a whole package. The concept was a good one,but it could have been better and less expensive.
Pros: Smaller size, clear sound
Cons: Cost point
So I decided on getting a better sound from non smart LCD TV. I had a Yamaha 1060 and felt like it sounded hardly any better than my TV. Returned it got from different store. Heard about this system below are pro and con. Pro- like the small foot print. Easy set up. Connect to tablet and blue tooth easily. It does have a nice sound to it. I have not cranked up the sound but believe at louder might even sound better. I have a apt. Arrived quickly. Called customer very good experience even after purchase with a question. It does live up to sound description. Con- A big one! I had to hook up optical cable and it a cheap thin wire cable which did not fit properly. Meaning sound was in and out. So went to a local retailer and got aftermarket cable. Works better. I am not a big bass guy but this is a low volume sub woofer. That is a good and bad. Depending on your thoughts. No pounding bass. Not too much of a big deal. I have yet decided whether keeping it or not. But it is a nice system and other than the optical cable issue it's good. It does sound better than the Vizio newest 4050 (one). I heard that in a store and seems to have huge power but not warm sounding in my listening. Not the best environment store listening. My biggest gripe with any or all makers of these systems seeing them and reading other reviews. Reply but a darn display telling u what volume level u are at. I really want to know that I can reach 11!
I have updated my audio and video system and downsized from the full 7.1 surround hard wired speakers to a sound bar. I tried the 3.1 Samsung first but it had no bottom end. The Polk mini puts out a great sound in my 23 x 25 room. It is quite balanced for a compact unit. I made the right move on the advice of my sales person.
Pros: Size and sound. Fast and easy set up. No extra parts or wires needed to install. I don't have to look at a very wide sound bar.
Cons: I have not experienced any downside.
Bought this on the advice of my salesperson, Wade, and I am glad I took his advice. I needed a new sound bar for a new entertainment center I purchased, which needed very specific dimensions, and I wanted a wireless sub to boot. I had purchased a Bose Solo and just wasn't happy with the lack of low end frequencies. Once I set this system up and make a few adjustments, I already knew that the Bose was going back. This isn't an earth shaking sound system, but realistically, that's not why you buy a soundbar in the first place. I just like a little "bottom" to my dialogue. This system has a lot going for the price. The great return policy gave me the confidence to buy. Every cable you'll need or want to hook up to your tv is included.
Pros: Great sound, small footprint, easy setup, excellent price for the whole package,
Cons: None so far.
Don't let the small size of this system fool you. It delivers a great sound !
Pros: Way to easy to connect and easy to use! Ideal for small to medium size room.

The soundbar speaker is equipped with a six speaker array which consists of two 0.5" tweeters and four 2.25" midrange drivers, all powered by a built-in amplifier.
Wireless Powered Sub: The included wireless powered subwoofer reproduces deep bass impact that you can feel from your movie and music soundtracks. It houses a down-firing 6.5" woofer, down-firing bass port, and a built-in amplifier. You can independently adjust the wireless powered sub's bass level from the rest of the system's overall volume level.
Proprietary Polk Technologies: Featuring Polk's patented SDA surround sound and Voice Adjust technologies, the MagniFi Mini soundbar speaker system produces an immersive listening experience.
Dolby Digital: The Polk MagniFi Mini soundbar and sub system will decode Dolby Digital 5.1ch audio through its HDMI and Optical digital. 2ch PCM audio is also supported through HDMI, Optical, and stereo minijack.

Note: Many televisions will only pass 2ch PCM through the ARC-enabled HDMI input from devices connected to the TV via HDMI or analog.
Digital & Analog Audio Inputs: In addition to HDMI connectivity, the Polk Audio MagniFi Mini soundbar system provides a digital (optical) input and analog minijack (3.5mm) input for connectivity to your TV our other source components. You should make sure to turn your TV speakers off or set to "0".
Note: The digital optical output terminals of many newer flat-panel TVs only send an audio signal in 5.1ch when receiving Dolby Digital/DTS surround sound from the TV's built-in tuner, network connection, or connected USB device; and will output only 2ch stereo from sources connected to the TV via HDMI, or RCA (like your Blu-ray/DVD player or satellite/cable box).
Bluetooth Audio Streaming: The Polk Audio MagniFi Mini soundbar system supports Bluetooth A2DP which allows you to wirelessly stream audio from your Bluetooth-enabled Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad, Android smartphone/tablet, Windows Phone/PC, Mac laptop/computer and more. You'll be able to stream stored music or music apps from your Bluetooth-enabled device to the soundbar speaker system. Remote Control: The included IR remote control provides wireless operation of the system. You can also program the MagniFi Mini soundbar speaker system to respond to your TV's IR remote (basic functions only - Power/Input/Volume/Mute). In addition, there are controls on the top-panel of the soundbar speaker.
Note: Many newer TVs are coming with RF remotes and don't offer IR functionality. In this case, you would not be able to program the soundbar and TV remote to work together.
Mounting Options: The soundbar speaker should be centered under or above your flat-panel TV screen. The lightweight easy-to-mount single speaker can simply be placed on a tabletop, stand, or shelf. It can sit on a flat surface because of its integrated rubber feet that enable it to rest securely. The powered subwoofer receives its signal from the soundbar wirelessly, so it can be placed virtually anywhere in the room (up to 30' from soundbar). It only requires plugging into an AC outlet.
Note: The soundbar speaker is not wall-mountable.
Power Requirements: Both the soundbar speaker and wireless powered sub will require an AC power outlet.
