One thing's for sure — our customers love Infinity's Reference Series speakers. Year after year, car after car, options like these Reference Series REF-3032cfx 3-1/2" car speakers remain a popular choice for replacing factory speakers because of their competitive pricing and superb sound.

A modern classic

One thing's for sure — our customers love Infinity's Reference Series speakers. Year after year, car after car, options like these Reference Series REF-3032cfx 3-1/2" car speakers remain a popular choice for replacing factory speakers because of their competitive pricing and superb sound.

Infinity's famous ingredients

The Reference Series polypropylene woofer with its durable hi-roll rubber surround ensures you'll enjoy powerful sound every mile you drive. Its oversized cone moves more air than other speakers of similar size, adding plenty of punch to the speaker's impressive performance. Add to all that, a 1/2" textile balanced dome tweeter for clearer and smoother highs, and you have a sound that's definitively Infinity.

Excellent power-handling

These speakers will really blossom when powered by an external amplifier, but they're also sensitive enough to be a good match for a factory or aftermarket stereo. Plus, Infinity comes up with a safe way to get a little more power out of your system — these 3-ohm speakers combine with the speaker wire in your car so your car stereo sees actual 4-ohm impedance.

Grilles are not included; the factory grilles should be suitable for most applications.

What a difference!!

I replaced the stock dash speakers with these. What a difference!! The highs much brighter and they are not trying to reproduce bass they are not meant for. The stock speakers are cheaply made, just enough to get sound from them. These speakers are much higher quality in materials and workmanship. I am using the stock head unit with no amps at the moment. One of the best upgrades I have done so far.

Pros: Sound quality Materials Ease of install

Great speaker upgrade for 2016 Ram 1500

Crutchfield did an awesome job with the ease of use for the website. The shipping was fast. It took but 2 maybe 3 days to receive my speakers. The packaging was excellent. I'm glad they include the connections i needed from Metra to be able to connect the speakers to the factory wiring. Took the old speakers out and the new infinity speakers fit perfect in the speaker slots. The speakers themselves are amazing. The treble is really loud. They drown out my 4 6X9 speakers. (a pair of kickers in my rear doors and a pair of pioneer speakers in my front doors) I turned the treble down on the entire system in my truck and should probably turn it down some more because these speakers are loud. Great set of speakers. They sound clear at all levels of volume. I like my music loud but with a lot of bass. ( i do not have sub-woofers in this vehicle) In order for me to get the right amount of bass vs treble i had to turn the treble down quite a bit. I set my fade to the back while also adjusting the treble to low. If you like more treble, these speakers are for you. They still sound better than my factory speakers and their build is appealing. I would recommend these to anyone looking to upgrade their speaker system.

Pros: Clear sound,

Great little speakers!

Crutchfield customer from Wasilla, Alaska on 3/9/2019

2019 Ram 1500 Classic

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

These speakers are simply amazing compared to the stock speakers in my 2019 RAM 1500 Classic. I recently traded in my 3500 Limited Dually which had the Alpine system and was very disappointed with the new stereo. Speakers were very boomy with little to no treble. I bought the full Infinity set up (4 doors and 2 dash) because of the db and ohm rating, and have only installed the dash speakers so far. I can't wait to get the door speakers put in to hear the overall effect. I seriously doubt you'll be disappointed with these if you are replacing stock speakers. But, do not just replace the dash and nothing else! Because of the efficiency of the these speakers, they will definitely be louder than than the others. If you do not go with Infinity for the doors, make sure you match db and ohms, otherwise you're wasting your money.

Pros: Efficiency, crisp highs, great upgrade for stock head without adding an amp

Cons: None

2008 Dodge vs factory infinity

Mark from Wright City, MO on 2/14/2019

2008 Dodge Ram 1500

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Compared to stock infinity dash speakers I'm a bit confused on how to answer. First the stock infinity's have a slightly bigger magnet. Much more mid and overall volume/loudness is not really noticeable as a before and after. Now don't get me wrong, these speakers are much more crisp so you could say cleaner. Not as much mid which tends to sound a bit muffled anyways, as the stock oems do. The speakers themselves appear very well built. I readjusted the fade from the rear back to a neutral setting. With the rest of my truck outfitted with the kappa line these are a very, very pleasing accoutrement! The whole truck is crystal clear and can handle volumes not possible with the factory speakers. So if you are adding these speakers just be aware depending on what you have or upgrade from, to have a balanced audio platform you will need subwoofers. Crutchfield has some very good deals so I have no choice but to bite the bullet. Oh darn. Thanks crutchfield!

Pros: Clarity, ability to balance well with other speakers for a complete sound system

Cons: Comparing with what I replaced, possibly a little light on the mids. Although with subwoofers I seriously doubt any cons.

Wonderful speakers; Way Better Than Stock

NUKE from Dallas, TX on 12/2/2018

2012 Dodge Charger

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Outstanding replacement speakers for those tired, worn out 3.5" dash speakers in Dodge's LX cars. Depending upon other speakers being left as stock or not, you may find that these produce such a good sound that they are the most prominent speakers in the car now. I adjusted the LOC channel on which they are powered, so that was only an issue to deal with for a few minutes for me. Once I reduced the output level on the LOC device for these speakers' channels, the sound coming from my mostly stock system is great. These speakers are a wonderful improvement over the stock ones in the LX cars' dash corners. I am also pushing these speakers with an amp, so adjusting the channel of a LOC powering them to give the speakers slightly less jucie is one way to address these speakers being too prominent in the car's audis setup

Great little speakers! However, they were not a perfect fit for the dash of the 2018 JL Wrangler. Slight modification to the bracket and they fit fine. They fit in the sound bar but i had to drill new holes. Sound is awesome for highs and I didn't restrain the bass so that has improved overall in the car.

Pros: almost perfect fit, super easy install, sounds amazing

Cons: almost perfect fit

Infinity Is Great! Not the low-end reference Series

John from Eugene, OR on 11/19/2018

2016 Mazda 6

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Speakers fit perfectly in the dash of my 2016 Mazda 6. They sounded really good running off the deck power. Within 2 hours of total listening time and not going to my max volume, they are starting to crackle and pop. My stock deck probably puts out 10-15 watts. These seem like they can not handle that low of a wattage. I got these on sale and not worth returning them. I'll just move on to a different brand. It's a shame since I LOVE Infinity gear. Should have not bought the low-end Reference series. Please, do not by the reference series, I think Infinity's WAY better at quality at the higher end of their product line like the Kappa series.

Pros: Sounded great Looks Awesome Great Build Material

Cons: Can't handle 10-15watts without blowing (stock Mazda Stereo)

Crutchfield response on 11/21/2018
Aftermarket speakers, like the Infinity Reference, often require more power to be effective. Factory radios often don't have the power output to do aftermarket speakers justice. When distortion occurs, many times it can be mistaken as a problem with the speakers, but it can actually be a weak amplifier, like the one in a factory radio, having trouble delivering the power that the speakers require. This is when upgrading the radio or adding an amp really allow speakers to sound their best. If you purchased these speakers from Crutchfield, feel free to contact our Tech Support team. They can help you solve the problem or set up a return within 60 days of purchase.

Perfect BRZ dash and rear panel replacement speakers

Crutchfield customer from Urbana, OH on 8/21/2018

2015 Subaru BRZ

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I installed these along with Polk door woofers in my Subaru BRZ. I wanted to retain the factory head unit and wiring harness to minimize my labor and retain the stock look. These 2-ways are almost exactly the same size as the factory 90mm speakers and all I had to do was make my own brackets to install in the dash and lightly modify the rear panel brackets to install them. The speakers included 270uF capacitors for high pass filters that I used on the dash, but weren't needed on the rear panels since the HU already bass blocks those. I was able to retain the stock wiring on the dash by jumpering the 4-pin tweeter connector and I found that the connects for the rear speakers were mirror images of the supplied wiring adapters. Oh well, a little re-engineering made everything right. Now, after installing the woofers in the doors, I have an awesome sound system that is light years better than the factory system ...and all I had to do was replace the speakers and adjust the equalizer.

Big improvement in 2011 Highlander

I had to do something about the factory 2 1/2" dash speakers in my 2011 Highlander and decided on the 3 1/2" Infinity speakers. No, it isn't a "bolt-in" replacement. I had to make room for this speaker so that meant cutting the hole larger and bending some metal out of the way. I also had to recess the speaker a bit so that the rubber surround wouldn't interfere with the factory speaker cover. If you remove too much material from the mounting area, then you cannot effectively secure the speaker into the dash. Also, keep in mind that because you must remove plastic from the speaker mounting area, you destroy the old 2 1/2 inch speaker mounts so there's no going back. I finally completed my installation today after trying and thinking about different mounting methods. Now, my dash speakers don't sound so muddy. The midrange is much improved and a crash cymbal comes in good and clear. Vehicle info: 2011 Toyota Highlander Limited with JBL sound system and navigation system. I'm not going to mess with the head unit or any amplifiers because I like it the way it is. Aftermarket speakers will make a difference in sound quality. The problem with the factory system is that the factory system already has a crossover. Mounting a 2-way or 3-way speaker in the door is useless - no mids or highs will pass through. And yes, you can get component speakers, mount the woofers in the doors and tweeters in the dash and lose midrange. The Infinity 3 1/2 inch speakers fit the bill.

Pros: Better midrange and highs

Cons: Not a direct replacement for a 2011 Highlander but that isn't the speakers' fault.

I upgraded all the speakers in my 2010 Ram (without the Alpine Radio). These were the last of my upgrade and the most dramatic change. These fit perfectly in the factory location WITHOUT using the supplied foam. Crutchfield supplied the correct adapter, so they were truly plug and play. Paired with the 2-way Infinity 6x9's I installed all the way in both the front and rear doors, I get a must cleaner and full sound with incredible highs and lows even with my low powered factory radio. I have bought Infinity products before and have never been disappointed.

Pros: Easy fit, quality product, great midrange and highs!

Cons: ALMOST too bright, pricey for such a small speaker but you get what you pay for!

Features

Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each speaker uses a cone larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and an increase in efficiency.

Tweeter: Each speaker has a balanced dome tweeter. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone. Balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter.

High-Output Design: The 3Ω voice coil design compensates for the high in-line resistance of small gauge factory wiring, extracting more power from factory (or aftermarket) receivers.

Crossover: The included 270 microfarad capacitors are 1st order high pass crossovers (6 dB/octave); the crossover point is approximately 196 Hz. One capacitor is wired in-line with the positive input of each speaker. For best results, solder speaker wire terminated with quick slides (item number 120FQS10PK, sold separately) to both ends of the capacitor, then insulate the assembly.

Q
I just purchased and installed these speakers. I have an older JVC head unit with 25 watt per channel power. I have also purchased 2 JBL Stage 9603 3 way 6x9's. I planned on running them off the head unit as well. Should I install a bass blocker to the Infinity's so that I can turn up the volume and allow the 6X9's to handle the mids and bass? What should I also do differently if I add a sub and amp to this setup? Would I also need to add bass blockers to the 6x9's? or should I go to a crossover at that point? would I need to do anything differently to the 3.5's if I added a sub and amp? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Sounds like a solid setup. Did you use the bass blockers included with the Infinity tweeters? If not I would put them in there.

I believe your 25 watt/channel JBC head unit will run your speakers fine as is. If it were me, I would install the infinitis as they are. You can always go back and add bass blockers if necessary. I also installed a self powered JBL Bass Pro to meet my bass needs without having to add a more powerful amp. I found a refurbished one from JBL for a very reasonable price. Good Luck.
[ Patrick  Apr 24, 2018 ]
A
Just run the 6x9's from it's own amp no need to add a bass blocker for them. You might want a bass adjuster.
[ Ricardo  Apr 24, 2018 ]

I would add the bass blockers for 3x5's and add an amp for the 6x9's alpine or JL audio I've had both prefer JL. Add a sub JL audio don't go smaller than a 10inch sub if you ask why JL??? again if you space issues the have you covered the quality is 2nd to none.I got my doors sound deaden made such a difference for my 6x9's. Sounds tight with no distortion. The 3x5's will need to be adjusted they are really bright at times you might be in the negative but the clarity will amaze you.
