A modern classic

One thing's for sure — our customers love Infinity's Reference Series speakers. Year after year, car after car, options like these Reference Series REF-6532ex 6-1/2" car speakers remain a popular choice for replacing factory speakers because of their competitive pricing and superb sound.

A modern classic

One thing's for sure — our customers love Infinity's Reference Series speakers. Year after year, car after car, options like these Reference Series REF-6532ex 6-1/2" car speakers remain a popular choice for replacing factory speakers because of their competitive pricing and superb sound.

Infinity's famous ingredients

The Reference Series polypropylene woofer with its durable hi-roll rubber surround ensures you'll enjoy powerful sound every mile you drive. Its oversized cone moves more air than other speakers of similar size, adding plenty of punch to the speaker's impressive performance. A cleverly designed, shallow basket structure also makes this speaker a better fit in more vehicles.

Add to all that a 1" textile dome tweeter for clearer and smoother highs, and you have a sound that's definitively Infinity.

Excellent power handling

These speakers will really blossom when powered by an external amplifier, but they're also sensitive enough to be a good match for a factory or aftermarket stereo. Plus, Infinity comes up with a safe way to get a little more power out of your system — these 3-ohm speakers combine with the speaker wire in your car so your car stereo sees actual 4-ohm impedance.

Features

Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each speaker uses a cone larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and an increase in efficiency.

High-Output Design: The 3Ω voice coil design compensates for the high in-line resistance of small gauge factory wiring, extracting more power from factory (or aftermarket) receivers.

Mounting: Without an adapter, the 6532ex speakers fit standard 6-3/4" applications. Given their required cutout, they will also fit 6-1/2" applications without an adapter, but new screw holes must be drilled. Using the included adapter brackets they can be mounted in a variety of 6-1/2" and 6-3/4" applications, without any modification.

Q
Do these work in the tailgate of 5th gen 4runner?
xi  Jan 07, 2024
1 answer
A
Greetings Reg. Thank you for your question. Theses we measured to be too tall to fit under the factory grilles on your 2023 4Runner.
hogan  Jan 07, 2024 (Staff)
Q
This speaker seems like a great choice for my Ioniq 5 with factory head unit but your selector shows that it will not fit in the rear doors even though most other 6.5" speakers will. Can you tell me what prevents this speaker from fitting in the rear door, and whether there is some workaround like an adapter or a shallow-mount version of this speaker?
brandon  Dec 24, 2023
1 answer
A
Space is limited in the rear doors for speaker install, Brandon. I show that the 5 1/4" version the Infinity Reference REF-5032cfx would be the best option for a matching speaker in the 22-24 Ioniq 5. If you attempt to install the 6.5" version that is not a good fit, we cannot provide any advice or technical support as that would be a custom install. For the smoothest install, we always advise using speakers that are a fit according to our online Vehicle Guide. I hope this helps! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_108R5032CM/Infinity-Reference-REF-5032cfx.html

Q
My stock front door speakers are 6x9 paper in my 2023 Ford Explorer 4 ohm. How will these speakers compare since they are 3 ohm? Will the bass sound be the same or improved? Thanks!
robert  Dec 13, 2023
1 answer
A
The bass will not be as good as the stock At least in my gmc . Add a Mtx or Alpine compact subwoofer , I got a Mtx in my truck and you will really like it .

Q
Will a 22 watt head unit be enough to power these speakers? My car has 4 speakers in total.
parmpreet  Nov 23, 2023
1 answer
A
The Infinity Reference REF-6532ex speakers are very sensitive and will work well with the 22-watts power from your head unit, Parmpreet. They can handle 55-watts RMS power, so if you wanted to add an amplifier with 55-watts RMS or less power delivery at any point you also could for peak performance from your speakers!
bo  Nov 24, 2023 (Staff)
Q
My stereo is rated for 4 ohm speakers. Will these 3 ohm speakers cause the amp in my stereo to overheat or fail?
richard  Dec 04, 2022
1 answer
A
These should not harm anything, Rich. Infinity uses this low impedance technology combined with extremely high sensitivity to pull the most performance possible out of your stereo. These should provide a slight boost and certainly extra crispness and clarity compared to 4-ohm speakers on the same power. Personally, I really like the Infinity Reference REF-6532ex because it is a really solid performer for practically any taste in music out there!

Q
I currently have these speakers running off my stock stereo. Iâ??ve had them installed for a few years now and am wanting more. I bought a Pioneer GM-D1004 amplifier. It can put 45 watts out per channel at 2 ohm or 4 ohm. Since these are 3 ohm speakers, would it be better to run them at 2 or 4 ohms?
cody  Nov 06, 2022
1 answer
A
The Pioneer GM-D1004 is a great choice to add some more power to the Infinity speakers, Cody! Now that amp will put out the same amount of power to 2 or 4-ohms, and you do not have to worry about selecting a switch or any settings on the amp because there are none. The amp will sense the impedance connected (whether a 3-ohm speaker like your Infinity's or a standard 4-ohm speaker), so all you have to do is connect your speakers and your inputs and enjoy. This should be a good improvement in sound quality!

Q
are these speakers compatible with the Bose system in a 2016 Mazda 6?
evan  Jun 30, 2022
1 answer
A
This car will be a bit tricky to replace speakers in due to the original speakers being 2-ohm. While they will fit, they will likely give less volume than the original speakers.

Do the 3.5 inch infinity and 6.5 infinity come with bass blockers?
maurice  Jun 18, 2022
1 answer
A
No, the Infinity Reference REF-6532ex do not come with bass blockers. These speakers have a frequency response of 57-21,000 Hz.

Q
Will buying just 1 of the ref-6532ex fit both the rear door and the rear seat side panel or do I need to buy 2 of the ref-6532ex in 2017 Hyundai Veloster?
jon  Jun 03, 2022
1 answer
A
Thank you for the question Jon. The Infinity REF-6532EX are sold in pairs. If you are replacing both the front and rear speakers, you would need to buy 2 pairs. Buying from us you will have added the mounting adapters, and the wire adapters in at no additional cost.

Q
Do these also come with grills that covers the tweeters?
joseph  Dec 05, 2021
1 answer
A
The only grille is the one that comes in the box and surrounds that covers the woofer and surrounds the tweeter. The tweeter has it's own little bar that covers it to help protect the tweeter, just as shown in the picutures. Hope this helps.

howâ?s the bass? and treble?
darian03  Sep 14, 2021
2 answers
A
Bass and treble are good. Good speaker great value for price.
cheri e  Sep 14, 2021
A
The bass and treble are significantly improved. However, be aware of my basis for comparison before making your decision. I replaced all four four-year-old stock speakers in a 2014 Honda Odyssey (original owner since 2014, installed the new Infinity speakers in 2018, I believe). Most of what I listen to is 1960s-1990s era rock, so look for responses from people who listen to the same music as you. That said, I remain well pleased with the sound - treble, bass, and especially the clarity. My 60+ year-old ears enjoy vocal and instrumental details the stock speakers did not produce. Strong instrumentals sound like they are being played live in the back seat.

What amp should I pair with these speakers?
jaredr  May 13, 2021

I'm using a Taramp 4X800, that 200 watts per speaker. You to adjust output to each speaker at the amp. They sound great and I have been running system for at least 3 years with out any problem. I'm retired play it 4 to 5 time a week for at least 2 hours a day. I hope this helps.

Q
What amp should I pair with these speakers?
jaredr  May 13, 2021
1 answer
A
A 4-channel or six is fine, depends on if you want more power to the tweeters/mids. Some amps. will be 2-ohm stable, mine is probably 3-ohm, since it's parallel wiring. OHM resistance is not always static. Get an amp with 50-100 watt RMS output power. Less than 50-watt output per speaker defeats the upgrade, but should still be better than factory amp. Hope it's helpful.

Q
I have a 2014 Kia Optima LX and i wanted to buy these speakers but can i run the speakers with the stock head unit? or is there any other recommended speakers i should look to run with the Kia head unit?
anthony  Dec 07, 2020
1 answer
A
I bought them for my Honda Civic. I am extremely happy with how they sound. Stock factory head units typically do not have a lot of power so an efficient speaker is especially important. And these are! I found that I can actually use less power to get an equivalent volume compared to stock speakers. Plus the frequency response is so much better. Great definition in the highs and adequate bass

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

On the web site it says that these will fit a 1991 Miata with minor modifications, I am just trying to understand what the minor modifications are? I do not want to drill new holes into the door to mount these.

I bought these for my 1992 Miata. There was no need to drill any holes or anything like that. I had to crimp the connectors on the speakers, but other than that, they fit with no modification.

I have these in my rear door (2015 F-150). I have them on an Infinity amp. They don't perform like the Infinity 9632's that I have in the front doors. But they're nice. And I'd buy them again if needed. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_108R9632IM/Infinity-Reference-REF-9632ix.html?tp=105

It says these will install in the rear doors of my nissan pathfinder 2006 (no bose audio), but I want to put them in the front doors. The grill holes look the same, but I think there is just a plastic speaker place holder inside there. Will these fit the front holes if I run wire?
nelson  Jul 18, 2019

A
Hey Nelson, I don't know a lot about Pathfinders but they said they would fit my Jeep and they did after a few minor modifications they said I would have to make. In the box you will get a few different mounting adapters. Just choose the one that fits the best.

jon  May 20, 2019

It really depends... if you're lucky the homes may line up perfectly with your existing speaker mount holes. If not (as was my case) you may have to drill a few holes int eh sheet metal but it really wasn't a big deal.
frank  May 19, 2019
A
They come with basic plastic brackets that will fit many applications, but they may not be exactly what you need depending on your vehicle.
peter  May 19, 2019
A
The speakers themselves? No. That said, one of the benefits of buying from Crutchfield is that they do include the brackets and adapters to connect them to your car's wiring without having to do any splicing. I've put these speakers in two different vehicles using the equipment Crutchfield supplies, and I had everything I needed, though I would recommend picking up a cheap set of body trim tools to help get the door off. Hope this helps!
michael  May 19, 2019

Yes, they come with mounting brackets and wiring harnesses

Q
Will these work with a GM Bose system as a speaker replacement? Or do i need lower impedence speakers?
daron  Apr 14, 2019
1 answer
A
I've seen many different impedances on Bose speakers in various systems that have put into GM vehicles. Due to this, its best to check with an advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to see if these can work in place of the stock speaker in your specific GM vehicle My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Paul
