One thing's for sure — our customers love Infinity's Reference Series speakers. Year after year, car after car, options like these Reference Series REF-9632ix 6"x9" car speakers remain a popular choice for replacing factory speakers because of their competitive pricing and superb sound.

Enhanced highs

Step up to a 1" edge-driven dome tweeter for smoother highs with minimal breakup. Plus, push-button tweeter attenuation gives you a "brightness" quick fix.

Plus One+ woofer cone

The Reference Series polypropylene woofer with its durable hi-roll rubber surround ensures you'll enjoy powerful sound every mile you drive. Its oversized cone moves more air than other speakers of similar size, adding plenty of punch to the speaker's impressive performance.

Excellent power-handling

These speakers will really blossom when powered by an external amplifier, but they're also sensitive enough to be a good match for a factory or aftermarket stereo. Plus, Infinity comes up with a safe way to get a little more power out of your system — these 3-ohm speakers combine with the speaker wire in your car so your car stereo sees actual 4-ohm impedance.

Features

Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each speaker uses a cone larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and an increase in efficiency.

Angled Tweeter: The tweeters are mounted at an angle (fixed), so they can be directed toward the listeners to improve imaging.

Tweeter Level Control: A switch on the front of the tweeter allows you to boost the tweeter output to +3dB, useful if the speakers are mounted low in a door where high frequencies are easily absorbed.

High-Output Design: The 3Ω voice coil design compensates for the high in-line resistance of small gauge factory wiring, extracting more power from factory (or aftermarket) receivers.

Customer Q&A

Q
Curious why these won't work in the front doors of a 2018 Ram 1500? Depth issues or? I bought the 5.25 reference front and rear, not too happy with them for a full range speaker. 3.5 reference dash speakers pushing more sound. Rear 5.25s sound non existent.

Lawrence hit the issue right on its head! These speakers need around 1/8" more mounting depth than the front doors have to offer a speaker, but there is roughly 1/4" extra mounting height so if you make a spacer around 1/8" thick, they should fit just fine My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Paul

If it is depth you can probably get around it using an adapter ring. I wouldn't expect decent full range sound from a 5.25 speaker. I would probably go with custom fitting a component system or sub under the rear bench. Also, I believe those reference speakers have a crossover switch mounted by the Tweeter where you can cut some of the higher end. If you have the dash speakers installed I would consider cutting some of the highs from door speakers. I did this in my Nissan which has JBL pillar mounted tweeters.
