About the Kenwood KFC-1666S
Meet Alexander H.
I've installed car audio gear in a pumpkin. True or false?
I've driven all over -- up, down, and coast to coast -- and my best memories all have a soundtrack. Music is something I don't leave home without, and after enduring my fair share of crummy systems, I know that quality gear makes a long drive a joy. On those golden days, when the windows just have to go down, I need power and speakers that can handle it.
While I've clocked a lot of highway miles, I've also logged a lot of hours demoing car speakers from the best in the industry. And I've installed those speakers in a variety of vehicles, from sport coupes to minivans. Every listening environment is unique, every series of speakers has its own sonic stamp, and speakers perform differently depending how they're used. And while it's easy to get overwhelmed by specs, my best advice is to ask yourself. what's gonna put the biggest grin on your face when you just gotta turn it up?

More from Alexander H.
There comes a day when you just can't bear to drive another mile, listening to muddy-sounding speakers. When you finally reach the breaking point, Kenwood's Sport Series speakers are your go-to solution without breaking the bank.
Solid lows and clear highs

Put these in my 350Z fit perfectly just filed the speaker a bit to fit in the factory panel behind your the head rest. Put in a new deck and a backup camera with the new speakers it sounds 10 times better. It's got decent bass for the basic speakers at least for a small area.

Tweeters: Each speaker has a 1" PEI balanced dome tweeter. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone. Balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter. PEI (Poly-Ether-Imide) is a polymer film that produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging.
Mounting: The speaker basket has multiple mounting holes and is designed to fit a standard 3-hole 6-1/2" application, Ford's 4-hole 6-1/2" application, and a standard 4-hole 6-3/4" application. (When mounting in a 6-3/4" application, use a speaker baffle to seal the inner ring of screw holes.)
