Plug in your iPhone® or Android device, and this Kenwood's 6.8" capacitive touchscreen displays the navigation, messaging, and music apps you know so well. If your phone is tucked away, you can still use this receiver's built-in Bluetooth® for wireless convenience. And if you like experimenting with your sound, a solid suite of sound processing and tone controls gives you free reign over all aspects of your soundstage.

Kenwood packs all of these features into a shallow-mount chassis, with a depth just under 3".

Apple CarPlay

CarPlay integrates your iPhone into the driving experience in a seamless interface, allowing you to access iPhone content with the sound of your voice. That means easy access to your music library, audiobooks, phone, messages, navigation, and many third-party streaming music apps, too. Learn more at www.apple.com/ios/carplay.

Android Auto

If you're an Android user, this receiver is ready for your phone, too. Android Auto integrates your Android device into the driving experience without distracting you from the job at hand — driving . You'll have easy voice access to Google Maps, weather, music, and apps, not to mention your text messages. And you can make calls, too, of course. Get more info at www.android.com/auto.

Android mirroring

If you use apps unsupported by Android Auto, not to worry. With a USB connection, this receiver will mirror your Android screen, giving you touchscreen control over your favourite phone features.

Music is a priority

Got a rare music library? Load your music files onto a USB drive for easy playback. If you're looking for radio stations that won't fade away as you leave the city limits, add a SiriusXM tuner (not included) to this Kenwood to enjoy satellite radio's deep programming from Portland, Oregon to Portland, Maine. The DMX4707S also includes a sensitive AM/FM tuner to catch all your local stations too.

Lots of ways to shape your music

In addition to offering lots of options for music, Kenwood provides several ways to get the most out of your tunes. This receiver's 13-band equalizer, deep crossover settings, and built-in digital time alignment take tweaking to a new level. If your car speakers are located down low in the doors, this receiver also offers Stage EQ, which adjusts your music's frequencies to virtually "raise" your speakers for better, more natural imaging. The DMX4707S also includes a full set of 2-volt RCA preamp outputs that provide a clean signal when it's time to add amplifiers to your system.

Smartphone note: If you're going to use your smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

You'll need a wired connection to your parking brake to access settings and other features on this receiver. Your parking brake must be connected and set in order to view video on its screen.

The LCD touchscreen has a resolution of 800 (H) x 480 (V) x RGB with 1,152,000 total pixels. The capacitive touchscreen LCD provides a high contrast ratio, crystal clear display, and vivid text; as well as highly responsive touchscreen operation. You can make the following adjustments to the head unit's touchscreen display to better fit your application and needs.

    • Home Screen & Shortcut Buttons: The unit's Main Home Screen contains touchscreen icons for all 10 sources and the Settings menu. The Shortcut Home Screen consists of 4 customized sources that you use the most, plus icon selections for the Main Home Screen and Settings Menu.

    • Clock Display: The digital media receiver offers a 12-hour clock which is visible from any source or menu screen. With your vehicle's key in the accessory or start position, the head unit will continue to display the LCD background image, clock, and button illumination during "AV Off" mode. Pressing the "Power Off" touchscreen icon turns the unit off completely.

Parking Brake Interlock: To prevent the display of video while the vehicle is in motion, the light green wire (attached to rear chassis) must be connected to the vehicle's parking brake detection circuit. You cannot view video unless your vehicle's parking brake is engaged. If you attempt to view video without the parking brake engaged, the unit's LCD touchscreen will simply display a blue screen and "Parking Off". While your vehicle is in motion (parking brake off), you can still view all of the head unit's menu screens/settings, source information, metadata, and album artwork; as well as CarPlay and Android Auto.

Note: The parking brake wire must also be connected and the parking brake engaged for certain setup functions, menu options, and Android mirroring.

Touch-Sensitive, Push Button Controls: In addition to the capacitive touchscreen monitor, the Kenwood DMX4707S offers five touch-sensitive buttons along the left edge of the screen. The button illumination is a fixed blue color.

Steering Wheel Controls: The head unit features a factory steering wheel remote control input wire (blue/yellow) within the included wiring harness that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately).

Optional Remote Control: The optional Kenwood KNA-RCDV331 IR wireless remote control (sold separately - not available at Crutchfield) is designed to operate this Kenwood head unit. The wireless remote controller operates off of two supplied "AAA" batteries. The remote operates off of IR transmission so the KNA-RCDV331 must be pointed at the front-panel of the Kenwood head unit within direct line of sight.

    Q
With the bypass harness, will my pre-installed aftermarket speakers still work in my doors?
    wyatt  Mar 12, 2024
    1 answer
    A
We cannot provide any detailed information without knowing the details on your specific vehicle, Wyatt. Usually when using a bypass harness when installing your new Kenwood radio when paired with your specific vehicle, that means you will bypass an originally installed amplifier in your vehicle and use the built-in amp on the Kenwood radio powering your speakers off the radio. I hope this helps!

Will this stereo be compatible in my 2011 VW Jetta SE with full functionality of all features offered for an iphone user? I plan to get the necessary adapters for back up camera and wireless CarPlay. Thank you
    erika  Feb 23, 2024
    1 answer
    A
Hey Erika, thanks for the question. With the proper harnesses, this Kenwood will be a great option that can retain your existing steering wheel controls and back up camera. When it comes to the wireless Apple Carplay, I would advise looking at a headunit that has wireless Carplay built in along with wired for those moments an update may roll out that completely disables wireless Carplay that way you will not be without the service completely. It does not happen often but it has happened before and it probably will not be the last. If you are interested in discussing options or getting a full cart of the right parts put together, we have advisors who can be reached by calling 1-800-324-9695 that can help recommend the right components for your goals.

Is there a way to reboot this. I have already tried disconnecting and reconnecting the cars battery. Currently the display is inside out , backwards and in spanish ? To switch from am to fm you have to press an empty spot on the opposite side where you think the button would be .

This radio has a reset button on the lower left part of its face. The manual mentions that is is important to make sure there is nothing plugged into the USB port as that could damage the data stored on the USB device.

Why does my Android auto keeps dropping connection? I connected to the existing interface in the vehicle and tried different length cords however it still drops off after a minute or two
    peter  Feb 14, 2024

    A
We are here to help with lifetime Technical Support with any order, Peter. If you are having issues with Android Auto connection, you can try going into your Menu>> Setup>> Device>> make sure the setting is set to Android Auto and NOT Mirroring for Android. Since the Kenwood radio also offers the Mirroring for Android app feature, you may need to specifically select Android Auto in the menu. Using a high-quality connection cable is also crucial, no matter the length (shorter is usually better). If you are still having issues, do not hesitate to call our Technical Support hotline with your order number handy and we can help troubleshoot further.

Is this an exact fit for a 2013 chevy silverado 2500 crew cab LTZ?
    brian  Feb 04, 2024
    1 answer
    A
Greetings Brian. Thank you for your question. These aftermarket stereos are not exact fit for most every vehicle. They need installation parts, like dash trim kits, wiring adapters, GMs need antenna adapters, the LTZ most likely came loaded with the Bose system, radio controls on the steering wheel, maybe satellite radio etc. If you enter your vehicle on our site under "what fits your vehicle", then add this stereo to your cart, you will see an overlay on your screen stating you will need parts to install this in your Chevrolet. If you are in need of some help choosing, you can call one of our advisors at 800-324-9695 for assistance.

Our radio seems to dim and lighten frequently and radomnly. And when we have maps plugged in through USB, the map can't decide whether to be light or dark. Any way to stop the light/dark flickering? The screen stays on the whole time, but it slightly gets lighter or darker periodically.

This may or may not help, but i observed the dimming to be in relation to my headlights being on or off. Does your car happen to have a light sensor that is tied to the headlights that might be triggering the dimming on and off?

The deck has USB (F) input to connect an android or Apple device and use the mirroring application to see your device screen on the display, as well as Android auto/Apple car play. Also features Bluetooth for wireless connectivity. Plays about every single mainstream audio format as well.

How can I get my radio stations to show the actual number? Ex: 99.1, 98.1?
    sherry  Apr 17, 2021
    1 answer
    A
While navigating within the radio menu sometimes I accidentally leave the Sub-menu panel open, depending where you are In the interface it could appear on the left or right but there will be an Arrow that will minimize the menu, this displaying more info like station number, favorite number etc. Also once you've navigated to your radio station pressing the Home button right in the middle of the left side of the radio will close the interface and just display a simpler UI that also simply shows station number and / or name, also the clock and the background image you have chosen for the User Interface. Hope that helps!

Anyone have troubles with reverse camera not automatically coming on?
    ethan  Dec 02, 2020

thats the nice thing about this radio it comes on instantly. as soon as you put it in reverse it appears on the screen. no matter if the radio has booted up fully or not. so you can turn the car on and instantly put it in reverse and bam there is the camera. if yours isnt then i would suggest checking the wiring. you have a wire on the radio that needs connected to the back up camera as well as the av inputs for it. i wired my camera to the power and ground at the rear of the vehicle and the reverse light wire. then at the radio i hooked up the video input and connected the wire to the reverse wire on the radio. every thing works perfect.

Yes I experienced the same issue. My daughters Ford Focus utilizes CanBus for radio communication so there is no true accessory wire. I only have Android devices so it may be different for apple, but my research ended up being a no because android auto and screen mirroring seem to be designed not to allow this unless you're phone is rooted and get hacky with it. In other words the apps wont display if you are in either mode. It's a limit of the phone/protocols. It does however have an AV (yellow RCA) input which may allow for this, but not sure if it's for camera in and only allows signal when your in reverse (or possibly park). I dont think this is the case though. I think theres another camera input.

You will most likely lose your factory AUX jack. The stereo does have a long USB connection that you can run through your dash for your phone. Depending on what kind of factory stereo you have will dictate whether or not your backup camera still works.

Other than that, simple hand tools are all that you might require.
