Connects well...
Crutchfield customer from Columbus, OH on 2/17/2017
2008 Subaru Legacy
The connector clips in well to the factory harness and reception is fine but I wish there was an option for a longer one since I mounted my HU (head unit) in the glovebox because of how stupidly the factory HU and climate control are integrated.
Pros: Clips in well to the factory connector connects to the Sony MEX-5100BT HU nicely and doesn't stick out very far Fairly flexible
Cons: The length, but that is only because of my special mounting location for my aftermarket HU

Works well
David from Minnesota on 10/16/2015
2005 Subaru Outback
Easy plug and play, stations come in clear. Not much more to say about a simple product.
Pros: Fits well, has sufficient wire length to plug in with the stereo still out a little. (unlike some I've used in the past where you have to have it about an inch or two from its final position in the dash)
Cons: None

Critical tip!
Supertuner lll from North Dakota on 9/24/2015
2006 Subaru Outback
This antenna adapter is just what ya need for the 2006 Subaru Outback. Works well and came as part of the install kit offered. One critical tip tho: make certain you hook up the blue "powered antenna" wire to the blue one on your harness... Turns out the Soob has a 'powered antenna BOOSTER" that does not work if not connected. Hope this saves someone an afternoon.
Pros: Straight forward, works well.
Cons: Don't forget the blue wire on the harness...

Robert from Oregon on 9/10/2015
2010 Subaru Forester
This was recommended by Crutchfield for use in a Sony stereo in my 2010 Subaru Forester. In reality, though the Forester connected to the new stereo without any need for an adapter. Crutchfield was AWESOME in crediting my money back without me even needing to ship it back to them. What a great company.

Works, but could be longer
John S. from Colorado on 8/19/2015

Cons: A tad short

Listening to the radio is fun
jackbattle from Georgia on 4/13/2015
2006 Subaru Outback
Pretty soon you may not need to listen to the radio. In the meantime, you want an antenna that collects radio waves from the air and consolidates them inside your car stereo. Well this product does the trick, matched my car perfectly, and was easy to install. Lovin' this old-timey radio thing!
Pros: makes radio stations audible, easy to install, fits the car
Cons: None

cdxskier from Columbia, MO on 1/15/2014
2006 Subaru Legacy
Used in my 2006 Subaru Legacy Wagon. Quick tip: do not cut the antenna wire from the factory head unit. Take some time to follow it (it's really buried) and disconnect at the harness. While this adapter gets the job done, the connection the the factory antenna harness is pretty loose. I had to be very careful when reinserting the head unit back into the dash, as I was concerned the harness would accidentally disconnect.
Pros: Performs intended function
Cons: Really loose harness connection

Does the Job
achmafooma from South Riding, VA on 5/24/2013
2008 Subaru Outback
Does the job and everything works fine with my install. I have two small complaints: first, the wire should be a bit longer. Subaru didn't leave much slack on the antenna cable in my 2008 Outback, so it was a bit of a stretch to get everything connected right. Had to position the stereo part-way in and squeeze my hand behind. Second, the connection to the OEM cable should be tighter. While fighting with the short length, it got pulled out a few times. But be patient and you'll get it. These are minor hassles and, in my opinion, only warrant a one-star deduction. If this stuff was too easy it wouldn't be as fun ;-).
Pros: Works fine, no problems.
Cons: Should be longer, and should snap more solidly into the OEM connection.

Something to Note
Bass Lover from Tennessee on 5/8/2013
2006 Subaru Outback
Five stars but......i needed an extension since my factory radio prevented me from locating my cd player in the normal location. My cd player is above the factory radio, about 8 inches further than the adaptor could reach.
Pros: Works as intended.
Cons: It's about five inches long.

too short for '08 Outback
Crutchfield customer from Boston, MA on 4/28/2013
2008 Subaru Outback
Functionally, this adapter is fine, and clips right into the Subaru harness, but for my '08 Outback, the cable was too short. It was stretched to the limit to get it to connect, to the point where I knocked it out twice trying to install the unit.

Subary Legacy 2005-2009 Antenna Adapter
Crutchfield customer from Gillette, NJ on 11/18/2012
2007 Subaru Legacy
-Some directions would have been helpful explaining where the factory antenna plug is located and unfortunately that information was not contained in the Crutchfield Master Sheet. Though I'm sure if the direction were more clear I would not have assumed the antenna from the factory radio was hard wired to the car and I would not have spliced them together making an otherwise flawless installation take a sour turn.
Pros: -Right part.
Cons: -Directions were not clear.

Bad Cable
Wiltonh from Mosier Oregon on 6/2/2012
2006 Subaru Outback
The cable did not work. It was open when using an ohm meter. The center conductor was broken inside the box end connector. The cable should be 2 or 3 inches longer to fit well in a 2006 Subaru Outback. There is a new on coming in the mail.
Pros:
Cons: Did not work. Cable is a little to short.

Wasn't necessary (Don't buy?)
Adam from Seattle, WA on 5/10/2012
2012 Subaru Forester
This adapter looks like it might come in handy for someone else. My base model 2012 forester already had the standard style plug for antennas, though, so I didn't need this. Rating it four stars because one-three seem harsh and I am not allowed to comment without rating.
Pros: Looks clean and sanitary Rarely barks No shedding
Cons: Wasn't necessary for installing JVC KDR730BT into a 2012 base model Forester.

Would work but umm...
Faith M from Wyo on 2/5/2012
2011 Subaru Forester
Give this four stars because while it would have worked great my 2012 Forester already had one on the factory unit. My advice is pop the trim panel off around the rafio and reach under the radio and on the lower driver side you can check it out.
Pros: Probably works great , plug looks like the factory style, also This one has a stright plug, factory one is a 90 degree plug
Cons: Subaru had one on the factory unit

Works as intended. I wish it was longer.
Vlad from Boston, MA on 4/13/2011
2005 Subaru Outback
This thing works as intended. Plugs snugly into the stereo unit, then the other end to the car antenna plug. I wish it was a bit longer as the cable barely made it. Subaru Outback 2005. Good call Crutchfield for including this along all that is needed to complete the car stereo conversion job although not free as they make you believe since the head unit is more expensive than the market price from elsewhere, thus compensating for the cost of "free" accessories. Still, it's nice not to have to worry what I forgot to buy to complete the job.

Works
Crutchfield customer from Ohio on 2/10/2011
2006 Subaru Legacy
It makes the connection from your factory antenna to your aftermarket stereo, can't really ask it to do more. If you get bad reception, attach the antenna wire (with be P. Cont) to the wiring harness, that is the antenna amplifier which you will need.

The Subaru antennae are different than most others. Without this adapter, I just don't see how an installation could be successful. And the fact that Crutchfield includes this, and all related installation hardware for free makes it a no-brainer as far as whom to purchase from. And fast, free shipping, too. WooHoo!!!
