Metra 70-5000 Receiver Wiring Harness
Crutchfield customer from Hendersonvlle, NC on 2/2/2021
Outstanding. Installed a Kenwood head unit in a thirty-three year old vehicle. The harness adapted to the factory harness without flaw. I did have to contact Crutchfield concerning three wires that I couldn't determine use for. Tech support immediately answered my questions, informing me that the wires were for power antenna, steering wheel unit control, an a dimmer that needed to be capped off.

Cable Tie
Crutchfield customer from Franklin, NC on 1/12/2021
1988 Ford Bronco II
I like the simplicity of the connector harness. This is a good product. I did have to add a plastic cable tie to ensure the connectors did not work loose from each other. The latching clip didn't seem to match perfectly.
Pros: Very easy implementation. No soldering or crimping necessary.
Cons: Connectors didn't match up perfectly.

Easy to Use
Larson from Helena, MT on 5/11/2018
1987 Ford F Series
This was easy to use and connect with my new stereo, my only question is why send it with two different wire harness types? Seems like it would only be necessary to send one or the other.
Pros: Easy to Connect Instructions are Clear No Discernible Interference
Cons: Comes with two different wire harnesses

Wiring Harness
George from Chesapeake, VA on 10/1/2012
1988 Ford F Series
The wiring harness was useless to me. It was simply the wrong one. It would have taken me more time to use the supplied harness than it took me to use the existing after market harness I had been using previously.
Pros: none
Cons: I didn't even try and use this harness. It would not connect to the original wiring for my 1998 Ford F-150.

Got the job done
Crutchfield customer from Cookeville, TN on 10/4/2011

Be careful if you're using crimp connectors the wire is soft, I had a problem with the wire smashing in two. Other than that I didn't have any problems.

Metra 70-5000 Receiver Wiring Harness
DanR from Tacoma,Wa on 5/12/2011
1988 Ford F Series
The harness is a nice plug in option to splicing but, at-least for my "88" F-150 the diagram was wrong so it's best to ohm the speaker wires from your door to the harness to find the positive and negative for each speaker and relabel the diagram before you make the final connections.

Excellent adapter
Robert from Dothan, Al on 4/9/2009
1988 Ford Bronco II
This wiring harness worked very well with the new radio. I had no problems wiring this harness to the new radio harness. The color scheme was straight forward. The hard part was verifying my Ford wiring harness to match up to the adapter harness. My schematic in my Haynes manual did not match the color scheme in the factor harness and the ground wire shown was not installed. Once verified, it was easy to install the ground. Straight forward plug and play after that. The install took about an hour.

Worked
Vic from Trenton, NJ on 1/29/2009
1987 Ford Ranger
Worked fine but I did have to confirm its application with Crutchfield Rep. Install was easy and quick. It was important to confirm the power hook up. I had to not use one wire and connect another to my fuse panel as an on/off switch for the reciver.

It worked.

Make sure you get a good ground, don't blame the harness. But everything else is strip, shrink, and plug and play, really loud.
