Fit 2015 Mazda 3 GT i HB

Easy to install, good fit

Pros: Great fit for car door and speakers, nice extra hole for speaker wires

Cons: Hole to attach regular full range speakers are too big for the thin screws that are supplied with the speakers. If you are using a sub, you should use the speaker screws that were holding the front door Bose sub in the Bose holder.

Great Product

It was a perfect fit.

Pros: The piece aligned perfectly to the factory holes, and it comes with multiple holes in the top to adjust almost any 6.5" speaker.

Metra 82-7501 Speaker Mounting Brackets

Sam from MI on 10/22/2018

Slightly warped compared to OEM brackets, but all screws fit. Did not come with gasket material between door panel and bracket to match the OEM one. Multiple mounting holes accommodated my 6.5" speakers well, and the inner tabs were easily broken off after scoring with a knife. They came free with my speaker kit, so I can't ask for much more.

Adapter modification

Crutchfield customer from Torrance, CA on 8/26/2018

They left a gap between door and adapter of up to 1/8" so we filled in with thin foam insulation.

Pros: Must have them

Cons: Needed to modify.

Great fit to car, not to speakers

Glenn from Greensboro, NC on 7/30/2018

These are the perfect diminension to keep new speakers out of the way of door and window mechanisms. They do not have separate rings like the stock photo. No existing holes matched a 6-3/4" Rockford Fosgate, so anticipate drilling and a trip to your local hardware for screws, washers, nuts.

Pros: Perfect made to Mazda door, professional looking mount (though now invisible)

Cons: Precast screw recess towers are all in the wrong places. Useless. Should have just been "blanked" for each user drilling their own pattern.

None of the mounting holes for the rear Rockford Fosgate speakers lined up with the mounting holes in these brackets. I had to slot the closest mounting holes in the speakers to screw the speakers into the brackets.

Simple

I am starting to do my own fabrication but, winter time with no garage is no joke. These made it so I don't have to do a bunch of measuring, cutting, routing, gluing, and sealing. These brackets are simple and a nice quick fix.

Pros: Clean Simple

Cons: None that I see or feel. Personally, would recommend a foam gasket around the bottom. Should be able to tighten bracket to the point rattles wouldn't occur, but, I like being double sure.

Product Research

Features

Overview: The 82-7501 is designed to allow easy replacement of factory speakers with select aftermarket 6-1/2 and 6-3/4 speakers. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit. 5-1/4s will also fit, but not well, so they are not recommended.

6-3/4 Speakers: For a 6-3/4 speaker to fit in the opening of this bracket, the tabs around the inner speaker opening need to be removed. They are scored along the bottom for easy removal, but still may require pliers and a file.

6-1/2 Speakers: 6-1/2 speakers with the 3-hole or 4-hole bolt pattern can be mounted using the tabs around the inner speaker opening of this bracket (if the hole spacing matches).

5-1/4 Speakers: While a 5-1/4 speaker will mount easily in this bracket given the bolt pattern, the frame of a typical 5-1/4 is approximately 1/2" smaller than the opening in the bracket, making a 6-1/2 or 6-3/4 a better fit. When using a 5-1/4, a speaker baffle must also be used to seal the rear of the speaker.

Dimensions:

  • Outer Diameter: 8"
  • Inner Diameter: 5.75" (not accounting for the inner tabs)
  • Height: 1.8"
  • Screw Hole Spacing:
    • Three-Hole (6-1/2):
      • Perimeter: 4.535"-5.035"
    • Symmetrical Four-Hole (6-1/2 and 5-1/4):
      • Perimeter: 3.675"-4.134"
      • Diagonal: 5.258"-5.792"
    • Ford Four-Hole (6-1/2):
      • Minor Axis: 3.675"-4.134"
      • Major Axis: 4.535"-5.035"
    • Four-Hole Spacing (6-3/4):
      • Perimeter: 4.286"-4.550"
      • Diagonal: 6.104"-6.377"
