Metra 92-3042P kit

The Metra 92-3042P kit allows you to install a single-DIN (2" tall) or shaft-style car stereo in your vehicle's dash opening. The kit's trim bezel will extend out from the dash by 1" in order to provide additional mounting depth for your new radio. Please enter your vehicle information or call an Advisor at 1-888-955-6000 to find out if this kit is compatible with your vehicle. Warranty: 60 days.

The Metra 92-3042P kit allows you to install a single-DIN (2" tall) or shaft-style car stereo in your vehicle's dash opening. Note: If you are installing a DIN-style receiver, you'll need to convert the 2-shaft face plate to accept your radio by cutting and removing the plastic shaft supports.

My old radio was a 2 din, does this kit fill the extra space?

I used the kit that was supplied with my unit. It filled the space just fine.I now have a little cubby hole to put CDs or maps. The install kit pictured does not look like the one I received.

Don't think so. Most older GM radios were 1.5 Din and although it filled that extra space, there would most likely be a half din gap. What kind of vehicle is it? Double check your factory dash opening ' s measurements and consult with a Crutchfield representative...they are extremely helpful in regards to matters like this
