A need piece

you deffinetly need this for any instalation, but you have to make a few changes. You need to cut like 5 plastic pieces off, you need a hack saw or something similar, not a utility knife that it says you need. But installed easily and looks nice.

In dash receiver kit (99' Suzuki Swift)

The kit does what it says it does, lets you install an aftermarket DIN stereo in the dash. Getting there may be a bit of a challenge though. You do have to remove some plastic to make the receiver fit, why it's set up like this, I don't know. I used a toothed knife, but I believe a better tool to remove the plastic would be a Dremel. I did like how the kit came with the extra metal clips to make the plastic trim fit in the dash, someone put some thought in that. Some storage would have been nice under the stereo, but what can you do. This was going in a inexpensive car and I put in an inexpensive stereo, so for me all of this was fine. I have to give props to Crutchfield for the superior service!!

Not Bad

This in-dash receiver kit isn't bad. Unfortunately, the default configuration is suitable for receivers made in the 1950s or 1960s, but not for modern units. As a result, you have to make major modifications using a box-cutter or other sharp instrument. This is tedious and time-consuming. In the end, the receiver fit very nicely within the bracket of the kit, but protruded too far from the dash for me to reinstall the trim from my Chevy Tracker. While browsing the Web, I came across another kit that is also supposed to fit my vehicle, but includes a CD pocket and may have been a better choice. This kit does the job, but be prepared to spend a lot of time modifying the kit (and possibly your dashboard trim).

Ultimately does what it's supposed to, it fills the gap in the center console around an after market head unit. Getting to that point though, was the problem. A bunch of pieces of plastic need to be removed before you can mount everything. The problem is, they're pretty difficult to remove. The directions call for a utility knife, I had to go to the hardware store and buy a small hacksaw, even with that, it was still a pain to navigate the small spaces and get all the plastic out. It eventually came out nicely though, looks great in the dash, just a little bit hectic to get it all together.
