Fit my 2003 Tundra Perfectly

Ordered to replace my factory double-DIN stereo in my 2003 Tundra with a Dual single-DIN. This product held the new radio and fit in the dash perfectly. The pocket underneath the radio is great to hold your phone or other small objects. It is plastic and not the strongest, but once it is locked in the dash seems to be sturdy enough!

Worked fine, plastic mounting tabs were a little flimsy. None broke, but had to take care not to over tighten bolts. It looked good once the installation was finished.

Easy once you figure it out

Instructions are somewhat vague and not well illustrated. Once I understood that I did not use the plastic side pieces and trim plate, it was simple. Insert the radio unit and use a screwdriver to lift the tabs and he held the radio pretty snug. Once it was mounted in the dash and the dash trim was re-installed, the radio has a solid fit.

Spoke with a gentleman on the phone about installing an aftermarket radio. He suggested a number of purchases for the installation. Fit perfectly with 06 Tundra. Solid once bolted in. Did not need the enclosed brackets which created a little confusion.

Simple, tidy, and works

This is pretty much a drop-in for my 2005 Tundra. The only issue I had was that it seemed slightly twisted; I had a time getting it installed straight, and ended up putting a shim underneath for alignment. It straightened up nicely once the control panel was re-installed, though.

05 Tundra

The mount instructions were easy to follow.The plastic mount tab deformed when tightening the mount bolts with minimal torque. Time will tell how the mount screws stay tight with driving vibrations. The face plate was lose after install; used foam tape to hold in place.

The product looks good once installed, but the mounting tabs are weak. The tabs are so weak as you tighten then they twist and will break. Not a show stopper as you just need to hold tabs straight as you tighten. They could be better but good enough to buy.

This kit worked as well or better than any other that I've used. It fits tightly in the hole in the dash panel of my Tundra. It would be really ideal if the texture, color and sheen matched the Toyota dash panel a little better. Alternatively, it could match the Sony radio better. Either would be nice.

Kit is simple and easy to install but does have 2 issues which I knocked off a star for each. One is the plastic is very flemsy so it be would be very easy for a thief to snap it out of the dash. Two is the storage compartment under the radio is to tight and slick. I have average size hands and if you put something small in it that slides to the back you can't fit your fingers in there to get it out. Have to use a pen to fish it out. It does hold my cell phone and the radio remote well but I had to put a small strip of the soft side of velcro along the front of the opening to keep them fm flying out at me.

fit my 2006 tundra trd ac perfectly. it lost points for shelf being level and smooth, resulting in my ipod rocketing out of the slot with light acceleration. i remedied this by purchasing a foam sheet from an arts and crafts shop, cutting it to fit, and gluing it in.

Fantastic buy, all the auto stores around here told me that with the JBL system in my car it would cost a fortune to put in my DVD player... Just a couple of clicks on Crutchfield and I had everything hooked up in a couple of days!! A++ guys!!

This was a perfect fit in my '03 Tundra. The instructions were very easy to follow and understand. I love having the pocket for extra stuff to keep my cab organized but i do wish it was angled down a little because stuff tends to slide out when I start up from a dead stop.
