About the Axxess HYBL-02 Wiring Interface
Your Veloster is a great car, but the factory stereo leaves something to be desired. The Axxess HYBL-02 wiring interface allows you to integrate an aftermarket stereo with the S/PDIF amplified sound system in your 2011-up Hyundai Veloster.
With this interface, you'll be able to enjoy great sound from your new receiver without losing the car's factory Blue Link functionality. You'll also retain the fade and balance controls that are lost when the factory radio is removed. Even if you don't have Blue Link, you'll still need this adapter to connect an aftermarket stereo. This interface includes a plug-in connection for the Axxess ASWC-1 steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately).
The HYBL-02 interface also provides a 12-volt switched accessory output, along with the Mute, Parking Brake, Speed Sense (VSS) and Reverse outputs you'll need if you're installing an in-dash navigation receiver. It's USB-updateable, and accepts speaker-level inputs.

Axxess HYBL-02 Wiring Interface reviews
Garbage. Don't buy. I give it 2 stars for customer service . Product stinks.
Cons: Have to adjust gain, lots of distortion went through 2 of these

The instructions are flawed but everything works after figuring it out. The HYBL-02 wiring harness comes with attachments for the ASWC-1 (needed for steering wheel controls). I used this on a Sony XAV-AX100 and the instructions for the ASWC-1 conflicted with what the HYBL-02 harness showed. Only volume up worked on my radio. I spent hours on the phone with support with no luck. Removing the HYBL-02 and using only the ASWC-1 worked fine (but no audio since my Veloster has a factory amplifier and needs the HYBL-02 in order to hear anything). SOLUTION: The HYBL-02 wiring harness has a Green/Orange wire that comes from the factory wires (pin 5 of the 24 pin factory plug), then it forms a Y with the bottom part of the Y going into the HYBL-02 module (it's the big module). The other top end of the Y goes into the ASWC-1. Cut the GREEN/ORANGE wire at the bottom of the Y where it goes into the HYBL-02 module. This leaves just the connection from the factory pin 5 (from the factory 24 pin harness) going straight into the ASWC-1 module (the little module with just 1 plug). Follow the reset instructions (press reset button down for more than 2 seconds but less than 10 after turning key, then press and hold Volume Up on steering wheel until fast flashing lights go away). And boom, it's working.
Pros: Everything seems to work just fine.
Cons: A slight modification must be made in order to keep steering wheel controls.

(2013 Hyundai Veloster turbo) So apparently it depends on the radio for the controls to work the correct way outside of volume up/down skip/repeat track. I used this with the Sony xav-ax100 and I wasn't successful in getting the unhook/off hook and voice/ptt to work correctly even after manually programming (probably would work if use the access cables and update via phone or computer). The Sony did come with a built in custom option but wouldn't let me get passed programming so many buttons without failing. I purchased the Alpine ilx-207 and programmed manually now all the steering wheel controls work flawlessly. Overall the adapter does work but in my case, prior to changing the radio, only the volume and skip/repeat, and mode button worked. Happy with it now that it works fine on the new radio.
Pros: Was pretty easy to install, works for most of the basic functions, has the ability to be programmed by ur phone using an app or computers but additional cable is required
Cons: May not program correctly depending on the radio, instructions if programming manually might be difficult

Instructions are easy to follow. Addition of prewired ASWC-1 harness is a bonus. Easy to link to new radio, and the factory connectors snap in place with no issues whatsoever. There was a QC issue with the one I received as the RCA for the backup camera had its polarity reversed during manufacturing. With the help of the Awesome Metra tech support, I was able to resplice the wiring to correct the issue. The other problem was the instructions for the ASCW-1. Apparently, to have my BT buttons work on the steering wheel, I had to sever the green/orange wire going from the ASWC-1 harness to the HYBL-02 module but keep the link with the outgoing harness on the HYBL-02 module (directly to the factory harness). This link to the HYBL-02 module was causing confusion in the system and refused to let me reprogram the buttons. Metra tech support helped me with that as well. They really should clarify the instructions for that thing...
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: QC issues and some technical support required from Metra
