Best sub on the market
Nicholas from San Diego, CA on 7/11/2018
I decided on this sub after my former system was stolen out of my 4Runner. I had a Kicker cvx 15inch which got plenty loud @2000 watts max...but the cleanliness and accuracy remained a bit muddy. So I decided to up the ante a little and go with JL. I've been using Kicker for 10 years and 2 weeks of using this sub has blown all that use outta the water. I now know what truly realistic bass sounds like with amazing clarity and accuracy like I'm actually at a concert. Best sub I've ever owned. Only problem I had was finding a 13.5 in box to fit it. I just have 1 of these subs and it's the ultimate back massage and mirror blurrer. Dont think about getting this, just DO IT!!
Pros: Clarity, depth, truly feel it In your chest
Cons: Finding a sub box for a 13.5 inch sub is tough

Initially I ran my JL with a bridged Profile California, it is rated at 300 watts RMS. Single sealed 13.5" sub could chase you out of my Tahoe. Amp ran hot though. So I upgraded to the Pioneer GM-D9601. No more heat issues and plenty of power now. Next I will try a ported box. These are very versatile because of the wide power range, that will make them sound great. Be prepared for the Big Three, a capacitor, an additional battery or two, and an upgraded alternator or two. The Beast is hungry and adding more is addictive.
Pros: Accurate, durable

Durable, heavy-hitting, & extremely detailed sound!

I've been abusing two JL Audio 13w3v3's in a sealed enclosure with an Alpine MRX-M100 for nearly 8 years and finally decided to replace one. I must admit these subs can take a beating and continue to produce stellar sound. In fact, it's too much for most people and I'm sure I'll regret this decision years from now when I decide I want to keep my hearing. The range these subs produce is not mistaken for 12's and far clearer than 15's. Although they can be pricey, they are well worth the cost. I bought an open box most recently to save cost and I couldn't be happier. Not to mention the look on most everyone's face when I say they're 13.5 inch! That's right, keep 'em guessing!
Pros: Impeccable Response Durable Deep & Heavy Bass Can be amplified with modest power Innovative JL Audio design
Cons: A bit pricey

these subs are awesome. Recommend using a ported box. Had them in a sealed, then in a ported box, which blew my mind
