2000 Chevrolet Prizm
My first frustration with this kit for the 2000 Chevy Prism is that it didn't include an antenna adaptor, necessary if you want to use your radio. Then, this piece from Scosche doesn't allow the Chevy trim piece to snap back into place. And whereas the OEM radio is flush, and few aftermarket radios are, to mount that aftermarket radio in such a way that the faceplate and controls stick out totally defeats your cupholders. Placing anything in them pushes buttons on your new stereo. Scosche (and Crutchfield), you really need to rethink this adaptor, or stop selling it! And this can't be returned once we've learned these failings because part of assembling this adaptor requires that you snap pieces off of it. To get a better fit to the width of the new stereo, I would have had to trim the factory bezel (as noted below), but since there were so many things wrong with this adaptor already, I wasn't willing to do that.
Pros: Screw holes align well, fits in dash opening.
Cons: Prevents the full re-installation of dash trim. Causes aftermarket radio to stick out from dash, rendering cupholder useless (see above). Kit did not include an adapter to connect the smaller antenna lead to an aftermarket radio. Seems flimsy.

Dash Kit 2002 Chevy Prizm

The adaptor is made if plastic and tabs need to be cut off to get it fit into your specific make/model.
Pros: Works so far (2 weeks). Allows me to keep cup holder.
Cons: Seems flimsy, especially compared to the OED mounting bracket which is metal.

Not entirely model specific

Overall it's a good product. Installed this in a 2001 Chevy prism. Almost fits perfectly. My only complaint is space at the bottom where the cup holder should be but doesn't fit so until I find an aftermarket cup holder or trim a panel there is this ugly void staring at me everytime I get into the car. Takes away from aesthetics of the pioneer stereo I installed.
Pros: -does what it's supposed to do: hold the head unit in place. -snap tabs aren't too difficult to remove. -fairly simply instructions.
Cons: Not a perfect aftermarket replacement match. Additional modification needed to achieve desired aesthetic that should have already been part of the kit.

Works but it's flimsy

This device is just adequate for the job at hand. I had to use Goop Adhesive to secure parts together in order to strengthen it to hold the Pop-out Cup Holder on a 2002 Chevy Prizm. Lastly, I had to trim material from the Center Bezel to accommodate the width of my Radio. This was not mentioned in the instructions.
Pros: Easy to assemble but I used a Coping Saw to remove unneeded Tabs.
Cons: It's flimsy!!!

Great fit and easy install...It took longer to get the bezel back on after installing deck...there's about 1/2" plastic above deck...after much wrestling realized it was slightly over sized and not allowing bezel to snap around...use the snap line made and break it off 1/4"! For perfect after that!!!

In dash kit

I've used a number of these kits in the past and 99% fit like I would expect but this one did not line up correctly and it's very flimsy. I was able to modify by wrapping tape around spots to build up so that there would be pressure against parts in the dash and make it a tight fit.
Pros: Close to free and was able to make it fit like I wanted
Cons: Would have gladly paid more for a better fitting piece

2000 Prizm Install Kit
Spaxle from Wichita on 1/22/2013
2000 Chevrolet Prizm
Was expecting a kit that would allow aftermarket installation to look close to factory. Customer Service was not aware of any issues. The radio and plastic rack together seemed flimsy but was better after securing the assembly to the car. Had to be careful during torque of screws as they would spread the soft plastic mounting tangs on the kit. When installing the trim bezel, I could not get it to fit flush below the single din radio or at the trim's horizontal support; between a 3/16 - 1/4 inch gap.
Pros: Kit was complete and instructions were clear.
Cons: Poor fit and a little flimsy. Directions say to break off unused tangs. Would recommend cutting them off.

Kit needs work

Ok, heres the deal ! The tabs are slightly off, the radio sits a tad bit too far forward. I could have done a little trimming but I felt like I should not have to. The lower brackets not only hold the radio to the dash, they also hold the factory cup holder in place and they are a little bit weak.
Pros: Kit was FREE from Crutchfield !!!
Cons: I think I covered those in my review !

install kit for 2000 + Chevy Prizm, fits 1999 also
Jeff from Emmaus, PA. on 9/23/2011
Typical plastic install kit. Looks like it is adaptable to fit many different configurations. I needed the kit for a 99 Chevy Prizm which the info here says will not fit, It does fit. This has the same dash as the 2000 models, **the wiring harness will be different for the 2000 and up models.** Cut off a few unneeded brackets, trim the top of the face on the supplied indent, install the supplied lower brackets, install the factory cupholder and bolt her in. Nice clean and easy install. ***Note; the info about the kit not fitting the 1999 models is bad info from the manufacturer, not from Crutchfield, Schoshe says it does not fit this model.***

Product required alot of cutting on the factory trim plate. That was not described on the install sheet. A little more investigation should go on so its not such a surprise to the installer.

Scosche IM2122B Dash Kit
ToddO from Titusville, PA on 11/9/2008
Have to take one star off for this one. I like the quality and versatility of the kit, but the instructions forgot to mention that I needed to remove half of the top spacer to get a correct fit with my car's bazel reinstalled. This turned a 15 minute job into a 90 minute job that caused much frustration.
