Functional but...
Yip from San Francisco, CA on 2/13/2022
2009 Nissan Versa
Has small gaps in my dash opening. Brackets have elongated slots and are intended to be adjustable but package came with 1 screw. Fortunately for my application, I reused factory metal brackets and screws to mount the pocket. I ditched the plastic brackets and single screw.
Pros: Fits
Cons: Small gaps in dash. Appears to be an incomplete kit

Panel a perfect fit in replacing the standard head unit with a smaller standard type radio. The addition of an extra storage compartment in a small car always a pleasant surprise.

This kit fit well in my Nissan Versa and I had no trouble installing it. The only thing keeping my rating from 5 stars is the flimsy feeling that comes with an all plastic construction.

This dash kit was okay. The instructions, while generally clear, did not provide additional tips for fitting a radio. For example, my new radio did not properly fit in this kit. The plastic mounts were bent outwards, and as a result, did not fit properly in the opening on my dash. I eventually realized that I needed to use the mounts from my existing stock radio, and I only used the pocket from this kit.

Even if this had not been offered as a free item with the purchase of the Pioneer car stereo, I would have bought it. This item makes installing the stereo in the car infinitely easier. Each system I've bought from Crutchfield has included the install kit. Won't check out without it.
Pros: You'll see!
Cons: None.

Works, for the most part
AB from Maine on 1/10/2016

Does what it is advertised to do. Instructions are very poor. I was not told I had to remove the faceplate and the tab frame on the stereo unit. I also had to break off tabs to hold the faceplate on the stereo in order to make a good fit. After a little fussing, it is in and works great! Just be aware each install has its quirks!
Pros: Works!
Cons: Poor instructions

Dash kit works with radio.
Pros: Works.
Cons: Directions on how to put this together and connect Radio aren't good. doesn't mention that radio trim must be removed. Pictures showing how to attach to radio are too small and dark and are hard to read. When I called Crutchfield for help, they said to follow directions that came with the mount.

Doesn't fit dash trim in 2009 Nissan Versa Hatchback
r.c. from California on 5/14/2015
2009 Nissan Versa
This didn't fit my 2009 Versa Hatchback as it doesn't fit properly with the OEM dash trim . The screws that came with the kit didn't seem to be the appropriate ones as they were a little too large. After a few calls to tech support, the last tech suggested that I try the OEM brackets, which worked. The only problem is that the bottom tray is not completely secured since I couldn't get the OEM brackets to match up perfectly with the bottom tray.
Pros: free with my purchase
Cons: didn't fit properly with OEM dash trim

Horrible design
Sgt_stubbs from Allen, Texas on 12/14/2014
2008 Nissan Versa
This mounting unit is a joke. The screws that came with it did not fit the stereo unit. It made installation tedious and instead of a two hour tops installations into a 4 hour ordeal. It did not fit into the radio space. Why make something that is supposed to support a good amount of weight out of plastic? I just reused the factory brackets from the original radio. Very disappointed.
Pros: None
Cons: Does not fit car, made installation a hassle, made of plastic,

Good fit, but could have used some better instructions
Boothby171 from Glen Burnie, MD on 12/14/2013
2009 Nissan Versa
Was easy enough to use, but I felt as if the screws I used to screw into the plastic of the catch-bin were going to break it. Overall: Acceptable, but could have been better.
Pros: Cheap, and it worked...eventually
Cons: Wasn't entirely clear how to position the radio and the little catch-bin. Also, the catch-bin had holes in the rear end, and I had to tape them over to keep things from one day falling out through them.

Nissan Versa Kit
GaryMo from San Antonio, Tx on 6/18/2013

Easy install! Poor directions on removing existing panels to gain access. Panel comes forward and then up, don't pull up on the panel - it will break some tabs. Kit did not include nor inform me that I needed an antennae adapter cable too. This should have come with the kit or at least shown up as an option on the Crutchfield website. Overall - love the kits available, but needs a little more tweaking to get my 5 stars. Yes, I would use this kit again.
Pros: Easy install!
Cons: Poor directions on removing existing panels to gain access. Panel comes forward and then up, don't pull up on the panel - it will break some tabs. Barely Works [2009 Nissan Versa PLEASE READ]
Liskrig from Mass on 5/8/2013
2009 Nissan Versa
If you need an install kit for a 2009 Nissan Versa, be aware that this BARELY gets the job done. I would have been willing to pay triple for a pair of metal brackets, and ALL THE NEEDED HARDWARE. The factory radio in the Nissan Versa has the brackets for the double DIN radio riveted into the actual radio. There are 2 screws that come with the radio, and nowhere in the Crutchfield instructions does it specify that additional screws are needed. I had to sacrifice 2 screws from the mounting of the radio just to get this to stay put properly.
Pros: It was part of the "$15 of Installation Gear Included" deal so I didn't pay full price
Cons: It was part of the "$15 of Installation Gear Included" Brittle plastic Not all hardware is included Difficult to seat properly After the install, it doesn't sit as neatly as I would have hoped

Versa Kit
Jay R. from Texas on 10/5/2012
2011 Nissan Versa
This kit fits correctly and looks nice in the Nissan Versa. If you're installing a stereo in a Versa that had no system at all you will have to use the bolts that go into the side of the factory piece of plastic that goes in the place where you put the stereo.
Pros: Fits well, decent construction
Cons: Had to use bolts/screws from the car to get it to stay correctly

Standard Install Kit
Colin from Long Beach, CA on 2/1/2012
2008 Nissan Versa
There was nothing wrong with my kit, but it also wasn't anything amazing or special. I don't see any reason to rate it perfect. I did have one issue, but that could be blamed more on specific circumstances or the stereo, not the kit. And that was that the screws supplied with my stereo which secure the stereo to the kit were not long enough. I could get them started but it was putting way too much pressure on the kit and since they were designed to be flush mount screws the plastic of the kit was bowing. It was a simple fix though, I just picked up some new screws from the local hardware store for about $1
Pros: Works
Cons: None

terrible...but not many other options
HotCarl from Houston, TX on 12/25/2011
2008 Nissan Versa
This kit fits a nissan versa just fine...until you put the dash panels back on. Then you realize that it is almost 1/4" off! Had to manually elongate the holes and test fit numerous times in order to make it work at all. It also doesn not allow the use of the trim ring that comes with a single DIN unit leaving gaps around the install. This thing leaves MUCH to be desired. I would have used the stock metal brackets, but they wouldnt work with the plastic pocket included in the kit. Be prepared for a poor fit and lots of hand fitting.
Pros: it was cheap...
Cons: terrible fit

Could fit better
Kristen from Teaneck, NJ on 10/2/2011
2008 Nissan Versa
Everything with my stereo installation went pretty smoothly, except for when it came time to put the dashboard pieces back onto my car. There are two plastic brackets in this kit. They screw onto the stereo and the little cubby hole. But when you tighten the screws, it causes the front of the bracket to bulge out in the front. This made it so that I couldn't click the dashboard back into place. I ended up throwing out the plastic brackets and using the original metal brackets that were holding my original stereo into my car.

It really doesn't fit very well
Richard from Orlando, FL on 8/20/2011
2009 Nissan Versa
Because it doesn't fit in the standard way, the instructions should be clearer on how to make it fit. I see some people got the trim installed, but I couldn't. I saw one picture illustration, that showed how it had to be done on some Japanese cars. I think it was provided by the radio. Since the instructions were made up for my car, I think they should have been detailed for the different kind of installation necessary for my car. This is my third radio for three different cars and this is the only set of instructions that I have been unhappy with using.

Does the trick, but .....
kgb from Sewell, NJ on 10/5/2010
2009 Nissan Versa
sides of the mount come all the way to the trim, preventing you from getting the ring around the unit, leaving slight gaps around the stereo. Also, instructions should have stressed where to place the unit as I had to remove and reinstall several times in order to get the trim back on ok. If the unit is too far forward it pushes the mount sides outwards which is too wide for the factory trim. I might take everything apart and maybe use the factory metal mounts instead as they sit back farther. (but then again, maybe not)
