Product Research

Features

Overview: The SA69 fits many factory 6x9 speaker locations, allowing you to mount select 5-1/4s and 6-1/2s in its round opening. There is also a scored knockout for mounting a separate tweeter. (Please refer to the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to confirm fit in your vehicle.)

6-1/2 Speakers: The brackets have screw holes for the standard 3-hole 6-1/2 pattern. If the 6-1/2 to be installed has a 4-hole pattern, new holes will likely need to be drilled in the bracket.

5-1/4 Speakers: While a 5-1/4 speaker will mount easily in this bracket given the bolt pattern, the frame of many 5-1/4s (about one in three) is smaller than the opening in the bracket, making a 6-1/2 a better fit. When using a 5-1/4, a speaker baffle might also be needed to seal the rear of the speaker.

Tweeters: The knockouts for mounting separate tweeters have several scored concentric circles, ranging from approximately 5/8" to 1-3/4". By design, the tweeter plug is not easily removed, it will need to be cut out.

Dimensions:

  • Length: 9.32"
  • Width: 6.45"
  • Opening Diameter: 5.081"
  • Bracket Thickness: 0.162"

Q
What is the biggest tweeter that can fit in it, and is it hard to break the circle tabs out to fit the tweeter?

Not sure on the size. I don't remember having any problems. Sorry, it's been a couple years.

Q
I just bought 2 Scosche 5Ã?7"/6Ã?8" rear speakers for my car but my rear factory speakers are 6×9". Is there a bracket to fix this issue?
[ Blake  May 20, 2018 ]

Q
Would this adapter support mounting a sub or would it be too much vibration for the plastic? My car has a factory 6x9 sub in the rear deck.
[ Joshua  Jan 06, 2018 ]
1 answer
A
I would absolutely not use that. This sub has too much output. Instead, you could take that and use it as a template, you would need atleast 1/2" mdf. I used 3/4", and routed it out to do flush mount.

Q
Some of the speakers I would like seem to have height issues with my car.In that case, could I mount the speaker to the "underside" of this bracket instead?
[ John  Apr 21, 2017 ]
1 answer
A
This will depend largely on your vehicle and the speaker you want to install. For more details, please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle research file and provide more specific info on what's needed for installation.

A
I had to take a die grinder to mine to expand them my speakers were 6.3/4
[ TOM  Apr 18, 2017 ]
A
The Scosche SA69 bracket fits many factory 6x9 speaker locations, allowing you to mount select 5-1/4" and 6-1/2" speakers in its round opening. We don't carry the Boss Audio speakers you referenced, but the bracket has an opening diameter of 5.1"; so as long as your speakers can fit that opening, they should fit. I just bought Focal 170V 6-3/4" and no they don't Fit unless you use a Dremel. It would be nice if the adapter plates worked for both. Dremel is your friend here.
