Great Color and Dash Match!

2008 Toyota Highlander
I give this dash kit a 5-start rating because, not only does it fit well, it looks great. It does an excellent job of covering all of the area left after removing the factory head unit. The color matched my dash perfectly and it fit around my new Sony WX-GT90BT double-din stereo. The slips slide into the old unit's slots perfectly and I had no issues getting it to slide in, even when the temperature was 19 degrees! I am completely satisfied with the product and I am so glad that Crutchfield carries this trim kit.
Pros: Great fit, color match and ease of installation.
Cons: None-but Crutchfield needs to have a better picture of this trim kit installed in a Toyota Highlander so that you can see the end result. The picture shown does not let you see the edges of the trim kit, so you can't tell what the final product will look like.

Perfect fit

Adapter works very nicely. I just installed a JVC double din KW-AVX820 DVD receiver. The fit and color match to the factory dash was perfect. My dash was black, if you need brown, order the brown kit! The radio mounts in the factory metal brackets, this part simply snaps in around the stereo to fill the gap. Lots of room to mount additional buttons, I used one of the rounded areas where the previous volume knob was to mount a switch for the rear view camera (manual/auto control). My only advice is to be sure the radio is mounted correctly before using the included clips which lock the faceplate into position. It is critical to take your time with the stereo to insure you don't have gaps or interference with a fold down face. I put the 4 bolts loosely on the factory bracket, then placed the adapter in without the clips to insure fit. Once everything was checked, I tightened the factory bracket. You will have to remove the adapter to put the clips on, then replace (the clips are small and easily dropped, keep this in mind so you don't loose one down into the dash as I did). Really nice look which works perfectly with my receivers fold down face.

Doesn't work

2008 Toyota Highlander
I purchased this kit to install a double din stereo in my highlander. It snaps in place good but it leaves a huge gap around the perimeter of where the factory stereo was. You can see behind the radio kind of gap! The motorized faceplate won't fold down! And the color is a dark gray instead of brown!
