Does the Job

I had ground loop hum problems when I used my processor's and amplifier's 12v DC connections. The Niles CS12V solved the hum problem. Held back the last star because of the unit's price. In the end, it works and I'm happy that I bought it.

Pros:

Cons: The price.

I have this trigger hooked up to a receiver and amp. Some times the amp will come on even when I don't turn on the receiver. I guess its better then having the amp on all the time but I am a little disappointed.

Great upgrade for components lacking the 12V trigger

This product works as advertised. When setting it up, the Niles CS12V is "nulled" to the standby current of the control component, so that even components that don't draw much current when switched on can trigger the CS12V. I have it slaved to a Schiit Audio SAGA mini-preamp that draws less than 25 watts when on, and the CS12V triggers a Benchmark AHB2 power amp on and off without any problems. The CS12V also has a delay function, although I have it defeated. The Niles CS12V is a convenient way to upgrade components that do not have the 12V trigger function built-in.

Pros: Does exactly what it is supposed to do

Cons: None

My new projector did not have a screen trigger. The Niles CS12V was exactly what I needed. The Niles product is small enough to hide behind my shelf mounted projector. Installation was simple. Plug the Niles CS12V into the AC outlet, plug the projector and the trigger cable into the CS12V. A thorough instruction booklet comes with the product. My only critique of the initial set-up instructions is that it fails to explain that you need to press AND HOLD the adjust button. The CS12V is working perfectly. It is very well constructed. I am very pleased with it's performance.
