The 1/2" PEI balanced dome tweeter adds crisp instrumental and vocal detail. Speakers fit like they should in my Cadillac and sound better than the factory.

Pros: They sound good, fit just like factory

Cons: They need a amp to have full potential. They are underpowered with the head unit pioneer avh601ex so I ended up using the factory monsoon amp which had a little more power, which only powered to the amp preset limits. I will be adding a new amp 500x4 in the near future

Bought these to replace factory speakers for the rear doors in my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. These have a really great sound and I cannot believe the bass these babies generate. I am more than please with this purchase. I have never used Kicker speakers before but will definitely be using them in the future. Thanks to Adam my advisor for the great suggestion with matching this with my new Alpine CD Receiver and what would fit my vehicle. The whole Crutchfield Experience as always is second to none which is why I have been a customer for almost 30 years!!

Great value for the money. Installed these in a 2016 ram 1500 with the non-alpine system. These provide crystal clear highs. Actually had to turn the treble most of the way down. These were an absolute perfect fit, especially with the included harness adapter. Combined with the pioneer 6x9s. These greatly improve the sound of the factory system.

The provided grills need some force to fit into the rollbar of my Jeep TJ...but, going slowly and working my way around it, I persevered! They sound great. Also, the provided adapters for these and the front 4x6 kickers are NOT the same. I got two sets in the box, and noticed they weren't the same, but there was no indication which set of adapters went with which pair of speakers...so I sent an email and waited...about 10 minutes, I'd say...before getting a reply with some personalized help. GREAT JOB, CRUTCHFIELD.

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Bought these for my TJ Jeep Wrangler, front dash replacements. They fit well with the included brackets and wiring adapters from Crutchfield, and sound great. I will note that the wiring adapters were a little tight and you have to make sure that you put pressure or finger up underneath the connector on the speaker to make sure that you don't bend it or break It. Neded to install without the included speaker grills, which really weren't needed anyway. They'll sound much better once I get an amp that could actually push them properly, rather than just the 22 Watts from my head unit.

Pros: Nice upgrade from factory speakers.

Cons: None yet.

Great little speakers, as Kicker is known. Clear and crisp even at increased volume. They screwed into existing holes in my Wrangler TJ. The fact that Crutchfield includes adapters free of charge is fantastic, and required no wire stripping. You can use existing grills or as I did, trim the new ones.

I placed these in the rear doors of my Jeep Renegade and although they are just for "fill" I'm disappointed. The sound is weak and when I push them with the factory head unit even a little bit, the bass is sloppy and flabby and a distraction from the front stage. Will more than likely replace.

Just installed in my 2010 lancer es. I had the rockford fosgate package in the car but i have blown 2 speakers already. Replaced the front with jbl gto components. The kickers went in the back. I thought that kickers were hyped alot so i havent tried them before. That was a mistake because these speakers are great. For the size there is decent bass. The highs are good. The mids are what stands out to me. They honestly sound better than my jbls. Ive had kenwood kfcs too and they blow them out of the water. I am pretty serious about my music and i consider this a good buy.

Pros: Good mids Decent bass Great price Crutchfield install parts

I purchased two sets of these speakers thinking I was going the cheap route. Boy was I surprised when they were finally installed and thumping. I can say they are twice as loud as the stock equipment. However, They are joined by a relatively inexpensive head unit that isnt pushing them to their limits. I'm sure a nice amp would make good work of them.

They sound only slightly better than the factory Honda speakers. While the kicker's magnet and tweeter are physically more substantial, there is very little difference in sound quality. Size matters for speakers. However, Crutchfield is great. Not only did I get a great price, but I got the proper installation parts and instructions to make this a professional, easy install. Just wish these sounded better. I'm disappointed.

This is what I learned about installing a stereo system in my jeep wrangler TJ. After comparison shopping I figured I would save a few dollars by buying the Pioneer AVH-X7800BT through another online retailer. Bad Mistake! When I bought my stereo that is all I got a stereo. It didn't include all the little parts & connections to get it installed. It took me weeks to round up face plates, the correct wiring harness. I did buy the speakers through Crutchfield and thats when I noticed they included instructions on removing & installing the speakers, all the parts to get it installed plus the wiring harness all with instructions. I didn't have to go online to check videos to find out how to do it. In conclusion I didn't save any money (I ended up spending more) and it took me weeks to gather all the parts to get the stereo installed.

Pros: I should have bought through Crutchfield

Cons: I don't have any.

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

First off, I tend to rate/review a bit more conservatively than most; I admit I am rather hard to please. Now, on to my review. There is really nothing wrong with these speakers from a build point of view. Indeed, considering the price, they're quite good. They have a nice tight punch for a speaker of this size. The specs are accurate. My reason for giving this speaker 3 stars ( a grade of "C" ) is because the tweeter is way too hot. It would be okay if these were 3-way speakers. But in a 2-way, the midrange falls out almost completely. This is especially true if you already have individual tweeters installed elsewhere. Perhaps the 6" woofer version of this speaker has better low-to-high balance with less midrange drop off. But again, I'm very picky. Over all, these are - for the price - good speakers

Pros: Good solid speaker for the price.

Cons: Poor Low-To-High Balance. Very hot tweeter.

Great set of speakers at a good price. This is a mild improvement over my factory TJ Wangler speakers. Only keeping this from 5 stars is that the dimensions of the speaker guard are off. When installing had to trim off the tabs on the side that stuck out. Other than that still a good buy

Pros: Clean and clear sound

Cons: For TJ pods had to trim the speaker guards on the outer edge in order to fit. Not to bad of a modification.

With the recommended adapter brackets and easy plug-and-play pig tails (both included at no extra cost) these were a good improvement over the ragged out OEM speakers in my Jeep TJ with stock head unit and sub amp. I bought these Kicker's to replace the dash speakers in my 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The sound is great! the only slight problem I had (other than getting the dash apart) was with the supplied adapter brackets. I had to file the 3 tabs down so they would fit properly in the alignment saddles. Other than that, no problems at all. I recommend you watch some YouTube videos prior to installation to avoid damaging your dash. I did, and had no problems...

Pros: inexpensive, great sound, all parts and instructions included.

Cons: Adaptor brackets did not fit out of the box. minimal problems though.

Great sounding door speakers. I combined these with 3.5" in dash and 6x9" in back. Perfect combination with my factory head unit.

These work awesome. I previously bought and installed a component system and those made my ears bleed. I couldn't EQ or adjust the harshness out of them. I've never had that problem with a 2-way so I bought these Kicker speakers. They sound amazing without all of the harshness I experienced with the other set. They are crystal clear. You will need a sub with these to round out the bottom end. They will have poor low end (most likely worse than the factory paper woofers) but I noticed that is true with any 5 1/4" speaker. You will get much better clarity and separation with these though. Add in a sub and you will have a kicking system. I do have these speakers hooked up to a 70x4 RMS amplifier and I can't get them to distort even with extreme volume. Great purchase and much happier with these over my component speakers.

Pros: Economical, clarity, separation

Cons: No low end (it is a 5 1/4" woofer though)

Exactly as promised. Put them in a Tuffy security box in my Jeep and they provide great sound in a less-than-steakable package. Completely met my high expectations

Features

Polypropylene Woofer Cones: The Kicker CSC-series speakers feature polypropylene woofer cones, resistant to moisture and the temperature extremes found in automotive applications.

Surrounds: The ribbed polyester foam surrounds allow extended cone excursion for additional bass output and higher SPL.

Balanced-Dome Tweeters: Each speaker uses a 1/2" PEI (polyetherimide) balanced-dome tweeter. A balanced dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone, with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome sections.

Q
can i keep my existing bose grills in my porsche 2003 boxster S? i wnt to use these speakers but keep my grills
[ Anthony  Feb 15, 2019 ]

A
Anthony, I would think you could use your grills if these speakers mounted with no issues. I installed my speakers in the backside of the door panels of my Chevy Silverado, so a little different from your vehicle. I did not have to use the new grills. Try it and see if not too much of an issue. Good Luck.

Was wondering what would be a perfered radio head unit for these speakers?

Sorry Bro. Can't be sure. I think that the Head I used drove the rear speakers too hard and blew my right channel. Happy to elaborate if you need me to with part numbers, I've got a couple of beater trucks on the road that I've put sound into. Good luck Buddy
